Chapter 433: Chapter 433: Knowing the Truth_1

"No."

Huo Qilin didn’t bring up the matter of how the thunder had startled Xia Qingtian earlier.

With a somewhat strained voice, he began, "Xia Qingtian, I’ve thought about this for a long time. I think there are some things you need to know. I just haven’t figured out how to bring it up."

So, he was still organizing his thoughts.

"Then take your time..." Xia Qingtian didn’t rush him anymore.

She couldn’t help but find it odd. Why did he call her if he hadn’t figured out how to broach the subject?

What she didn’t know was that Huo Qilin had made this call simply to not give himself a chance to back down, to leave himself with no way out. Otherwise, he would change his mind at any minute.

Xia Qingtian waited for a long time before the person on the other end of the phone finally spoke again.

"I want to be honest with you about something." Huo Qilin spoke as if he had finally made up his mind, taking a deep breath, his voice filled with determination.

Xia Qingtian had been wondering what he wanted to say.

Now, hearing his tone, her heart skipped a beat.

"What is it?" She asked cautiously, heart pounding.

Could it be that Huo Qilin had somehow torn the sky apart?

"It’s about Bo Jingyan..." Huo Qilin said slowly.

Hearing the name Bo Jingyan, Xia Qingtian felt somewhat dazed. It was the first time in a long time that she had heard these three words from someone else’s mouth.

So much so that she forgot to reply.

Unable to wait for her response, Huo Qilin asked worriedly, "Are you alright?"

Only then did Xia Qingtian manage to recover.

"I’m fine..." She suppressed her surging emotions and asked in an energetic voice, "What happened to him?"

Huo Qilin confessed to her, "You agreed to go out with me as a way of thanking me for helping you with the online issues..."

Xia Qingtian was puzzled.

He said it was something to do with Bo Jingyan, but now he was taking the conversation in another direction.

Moreover, that was just an excuse she had come up with on the fly.

Nonetheless, Xia Qingtian went along with it and replied, "Alright, what does this have to do with what happened?"

"It does." Huo Qilin told her, "I had asked my brother to take care of it. However, before he had a chance to do anything, the issue was resolved. When I found out about this, I had it investigated and discovered that the person who had fixed your problems was Bo Jingyan."

Hearing these words, Xia Qingtian was completely shocked.

Bo Jingyan?

It was impossible. Didn’t he refuse to take her calls and even go abroad?

Though he returned to the country later, he had argued with her, even moving towards divorce.

And now Huo Qilin was telling her that Bo Jingyan had helped her out when she was attacked online.

How could she not be shocked?

"Are you sure?" Xia Qingtian’s voice trembled as she asked.

Had there been a mistake?

Huo Qilin responded with a wry smile on the other side of the line. He wished there had been a mistake.

But he had checked many times--Bo Jingyan had indeed been the one to help her.

Knowing that the relationship between Xia Qingtian and Bo Jingyan was strained, he had hoped that Bo Jingyan would be colder towards Xia Qingtian, instead of secretly doing so much for her.

After a long period of hesitation, he made the decision to tell her.

In response to Xia Qingtian’s query, Huo Qilin assured her, "I’m sure."

Xia Qingtian’s eyes swelled with tears, creating a bitter taste in her mouth.

She had no idea that Bo Jingyan had done so much for her.

Why did he never mention it?

Xia Qingtian took a deep breath, suppressing her emotions before saying to Huo Qilin, "Thank you for telling me about this."

She had never doubted whether or not the Huo family resolved it, and Bo Jingyan didn’t say anything to her about it either.

So, if Huo Qilin did not initiate the conversation with her, she may have never known about it in her life, nor would she have known what Bo Jingyan had done for her.

"As long as you don’t blame me for misleading you in the past." Huo Qilin gave a wry smile.

At the time, Xia Qingtian asked him if she would have known the truth earlier, she wouldn’t have misunderstood for so long.

"Even though you didn’t handle this problem, you really tried to help me." Xia Qingtian smiled and comforted, "If I still blamed you, wouldn’t I be an ingrate?"

She believed that if Bo Jingyan hadn’t acted fast, Huo Qilin would’ve taken care of it.

"As long as you don’t blame me, that’s enough." Huo Qilin sighed a breath of relief, but he wasn’t feeling great inside.

Right now, Xia Qingtian badly wanted to see Bo Jingyan. She wanted to ask him clearly, to understand his intentions; why he would be so cold and curt to her, all the while solving all her troubles behind the scenes.

So she spoke a few more words to Huo Qilin and hung up the call.

After hanging up the call, Xia Qingtian could hardly wait to go find Bo Jingyan.

Just before she set out, she remembered the incident at the parking lot. Because of the tense situation between her and Bo Jingyan, the two hadn’t been in contact for some time.

If she just went to see him haphazardly, it would feel awkward. She thought it would be better to find an excuse.

After hesitating for quite a while, she decided to bring food and go visit Bo Jingyan.

If Bo Jingyan could move back in with her just to have her as his chef, then this time he shouldn’t turn her away at the door.

And if he was willing to solve all of her troubles behind the scenes, it showed that even though he had lost his memory, his feelings for her were different.

The food she brought not only served as her entry ticket to see Bo Jingyan, but also as her sign of reconciliation.

The more Xia Qingtian thought about it, the more feasible it seemed.

The next day.

The weather was still cloudy, but fortunately it had stopped raining.

Xia Qingtian used the ingredients in the fridge to make a few home-cooked dishes.

In time for lunch, she arrived at Bo Group.

But for some reason, when she arrived at Bo Group, she found a bunch of journalists at the gate.

She felt a little strange, why were there so many journalists all of a sudden?

Had something significant happened at Bo Group?

As she wondered, Xia Qingtian noticed that the cameras held by the journalists had company labels. When she saw those labels clearly, her eyes flashed with surprise.

She recognised that label.

When she was embroiled in the scandal with Huo Qilin, that media company had interviewed her.

Realising this, Xia Qingtian paid special attention to the other journalists.

She noticed that without exception, they were all entertainment journalists.

How strange...

Bo Group was the leading enterprise in A City. It wasn’t that no journalists wanted to interview the company, but those journalists were all focused on financial news.

Why did they now have connections with entertainment journalists?
