Chapter 406: Still Remember Her _1
Chapter 406: Chapter 406: Still Remember Her _1
The room was completely dark, only the occasional flash of lightning tore through the sky.
Bo Jingyan closed his eyes, on the verge of sleep.
A clap of thunder rumbled once more.
Immediately after, a soft and fragrant body rolled into his arms.
Bo Jingyan’s eyes flew open instantly.
He tried to push away the woman in his arms, but she clung onto him with all her might using both her arms and legs.
A vein on his forehead throbbed, his tone carrying a hint of icy warning, "Xia Qingtian, let go."
"I can’t, I’m scared." Xia Qingtian not only didn’t release him, but held onto him even tighter.
As they struggled, Bo Jingyan’s breathing became increasingly ragged, his body subtly reacting as well.
Xia Qingtian noticed his reaction and a glint of satisfaction flashed across her eyes.
"Bo Jingyan, your body is more honest than you..." She couldn’t help but reach her hand under the hem of Bo Jingyan’s pajamas and slyly stroke his abs, "it still remembers me."
Ever since Bo Jingyan lost his memory, she hadn’t touched him like this.
Feeling the familiar sensation now, she felt a wave of profound emotions wash over her.
Bo Jingyan caught Xia Qingtian’s mischievous hand, interrogating the woman with infuriated tone, "Xia Qingtian, you’re a woman, can’t you have some decency?"
Xia Qingtian didn’t mind his harsh words. She just regretted that because he was holding her hand, she could no longer caress his wonderful abs.
She sighed, "But, you’re not just anyone. You’re my legally married husband, you’re mine, every part of you. So, what’s wrong with touching the abs of my own husband?"
Her words nearly choked Bo Jingyan into silence.
"I don’t remember any of it!" he reminded Xia Qingtian.
Xia Qingtian nodded knowingly, "Of course I know that, but your forgetting doesn’t negate our marital bond."
With that, she mischievously moved her hand again, only to be caught by Bo Jingyan. She couldn’t move at all.
"If you can’t behave, I’ll kick you out." Bo Jingyan’s voice was as cold as icy frost.
Upon hearing that, Xia Qingtian instinctively pulled in her fingers.
"Are you going back on your words?" her tone was slightly annoyed.
"If you keep misbehaving, then I don’t mind reconsidering," Bo Jingyan ruthlessly responding, his face emotionless.
Xia Qingtian immediately felt at a loss.
She did not want to risk Bo Jingyan kicking her out of the bedroom, especially as she genuinely feared thunder and lightning.
Seeing her finally behaving, Bo Jingyan’s face eased up a bit.
Unfortunately, it didn’t last for more than a few minutes.
"Bo Jingyan...." Xia Qingtian suddenly extended her hand from under the quilt, hooked his ring finger with hers, and began to play around, "I can’t sleep, you...."
Bo Jingyan could feel Xia Qingtian playing with his finger, as if she was plucking at his heartstrings. His heart trembled in response.
The effect it had on him was significantly stronger than when she had slipped her hand under his pajamas and felt his abs.
He felt like he was going mad under the torment of this confounding woman.
He was starting to regret that he should have insisted on maintaining distance from Xia Qingtian, instead of agreeing to her demand to cohabitate and share the same bed.
Practically out of sheer determination, Bo Jingyan pressed the mischievous woman into his embrace, confining her hands and legs, not allowing her to move around anymore.
"Sleep!" he commanded authoritatively.
Seeing him acting so domineering reminded Xia Qingtian of the old Bo Jingyan.
Curled up in Bo Jingyan’s arms, listening to his powerful heartbeat, she felt an unprecedented sense of security and finally began feeling sleepy.
Thus, she obediently drifted off to sleep.
As Bo Jingyan heard her steady breathing, he knew she was asleep. It seemed like he could finally let go of her and push her away.
But for some reason he didn’t really understand, he not only didn’t let go, but held her closer instead.
Amidst the mild scent of Xia Qingtian, the restlessness that had been haunting him was utterly soothed.
That night, Bo Jingyan had a dream.
When he woke up the next day, he couldn’t remember what he had dreamt of.
But when he spotted a drowsy-eyed Xia Qingtian about to get up, he instinctively wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her back into his arms.
"Good morning, my love," he slurred.
His voice was hazy with sleepiness, yet it held a seductive allure that was hard to resist.
As if stunned, Xia Qingtian stared wide-eyed at him.
Bo Jingyan found her present state utterly adorable, like a startled little bunny, and couldn’t help but lean over and plant a kiss on her.
Xia Qingtian, feeling the soft touch on her lips, wondered if she was still asleep or perhaps hallucinating.
After all, how would the amnesiac Bo Jingyan ever call her ’my love’, and kiss her so lovingly?
Her heart pounded in anticipation as she called out his name with a trembling voice, "Bo Jingyan..."
"Hm?" responded Bo Jingyan lazily.
"Did...did you regain your memory?" Xia Qingtian licked her lips, fixating her earnest gaze on him as she cautiously asked.
"Amnesia?" Bo Jingyan repeated the word.
With that, he slowly opened his eyes.
His eyes immediately regained their sharp clarity, and the warmth and intimacy that had surrounded him so far suddenly vanished without a trace.
It felt like everything that had happened earlier was merely a product of her own far-fetched imagination.
But, Xia Qingtian could still feel the warmth and remnants of Bo Jingyan’s kisses on her lips. All signs pointed to the reality of what had taken place.
She held fast onto Bo Jingyan’s hand and pursued further, "Did you remember something?"
"No," Bo Jingyan shook his head, denying it.
"Then why did you call me ’my love’ and kiss me?" Xia Qingtian touched her own lips while questioning him, a bit of sweetness blooming in her heart.
But Bo Jingyan’s deep gaze held nothing but confusion.
To be honest, he too was unsure of his own actions just now. They were merely his half-awake responses.
Why would he behave like that?
Could it really be, as Xia Qingtian claimed?
He had loved her so deeply in the past that, despite the loss of their memories from his mind, his body still remembered her?
With this thought, Bo Jingyan fell into an eerie silence for a while.
After quite a while, he managed to find his voice again, "I was half-asleep, I’m sorry..."
However, Xia Qingtian shook her head, "I told you, we are legally married. It’s fine even if you only kiss me, let alone doing something more intense... I wouldn’t mind."
The ’more intense’ thing she referred to...
Bo Jingyan’s breath hitched, suppressing his unusual emotions.
