Chapter 404: Chapter 404: Not Planning to Endure_1

"Stop..."

Bo Jingyan interrupted Xia Qingtian’s words, his face dark. "I don’t remember what you’re saying, and I don’t want to know. I just want to rest right now. I don’t want to see you."

"So if you don’t leave my room, or do anything unnecessary, I might have to break our agreement."

By the end, his tone was slightly threatening.

Xia Qingtian understood his meaning, either he got a room for himself alone or he would leave outright.

She immediately scoffed. This man was like a totally different person after losing his memory. He used to dread going a day without hugging her when he was asleep, but now he wanted separate rooms, as if he couldn’t avoid her fast enough.

Regardless of the imbalance in her heart, she retreated to her solitary room - the room that she had stayed in before her and Bo Jingyan had exchanged their feelings.

In the following days, Bo Jingyan would come home every day.

Just as they had agreed, no matter how busy she was, Xia Qingtian would personally prepare food for him. Every day, she would spend a lot of time making different kinds of soup for him.

They were getting along well.

Usually a loner, Bo Jingyan was now accustomed to living under the same roof as Xia Qingtian.

...

One day.

Before Bo Jingyan even had a chance to figure out what happened, he saw a flash before his eyes immediately after he got home from work.

Next, a figure emanating a sweet aroma suddenly charged at him. Before he could react, she had already flung herself into his arms.

His mind wanted to push her away, but his body reacted first. He supported her at the waist for fear that she might topple due to her excitement.

"Bo Jingyan, Bo Jingyan, I’m so happy," came a piercing cheer in his ear.

On closer look, Bo Jingyan realized that the person who had jumped into his arms was none other than...

Xia Qingtian!

At that moment, Xia Qingtian’s glee turned her face a bright red. "Do you know? I got a call from my dad today. He said his surgery was a success and there was no sign of rejection."

"The doctor told him that if all goes well, he’ll fully recover in some time and then he can come back home," she continued.

Squinting at her radiant smile, Bo Jingyan’s heartstrings were plucked invisibly.

It was as if he was possessed, he did not push Xia Qingtian away but instead congratulated her cooperatively.

With her eyes filled with immense gratitude, Xia Qingtian gleamingly looked at him, "My dad got to do the liver transplant surgery thanks to you, otherwise he’d still be suffering right now."

Having spoken, she lifted on her toes and kissed him softly on the lips as if to thank him.

"Husband, thank you..." she said sweetly, "This is your reward."

It wasn’t until after the kiss that it hit her— Bo Jingyan had lost his memory.

And he didn’t really like her at the moment.

Feeling delightful that day, Xia Qingtian didn’t want Bo Jingyan to say something displeasing that would ruin her mood, so she let go of him immediately and quickly changed the subject. "There’s a soup simmering in the kitchen. I’ll go check on it."

Before Bo Jingyan could react, she quickly disappeared into the kitchen.

Bo Jingyan stood on the spot, involuntarily reaching up to touch his lips that still held some residual warmth from Xia Qingtian. His heart was filled with an indescribable emotion.

When Xia Qingtian returned to the kitchen, she was still a bit distracted.

She was wondering if Bo Jingyan would resent her for that kiss.

It was as if this was their first intimate encounter since Bo Jingyan had lost his memory.

The more she thought about it, the more regret she felt. She should have stayed and observed his reaction to her kiss, helping her figure out his attitude towards it.

If he didn’t mind it, in the future, she could create more such opportunities.

Maybe with more kisses, Bo Jingyan would recover his memory.

After all, before his amnesia, he really enjoyed kissing her.

As Xia Qingtian was engrossed in her thoughts, suddenly...

She felt a stinging pain in her finger.

"Ah..." She let out a startled cry unknowingly, looking down, she saw blood seeping out from the tip of her clean white fingers. It was a rather sobering sight.

"What’s wrong?" In the living room, Bo Jingyan’s heart tightened at the sound of her cry, and he immediately headed to the kitchen.

Having realized that she had accidentally cut her hand while chopping vegetables, Xia Qingtian was just about to attend to her wound when Bo Jingyan walked in. Spontaneously, she changed her mind.

"My hand is injured and a lot of blood is coming." Her eyes began welling up with tears as she looked upon Bo Jingyan pitifully, lifting up her injured finger for him to inspect.

Seeing the blood oozing out of her finger, Bo Jingyan’s heart twinged with pain.

"Don’t move." He stepped forward immediately, his tone somewhat strict as he warned her.

Then, he grabbed Xia Qingtian’s hand, took her over to the sink, turned on the tap, and used the water to wash away the blood. Once the blood was diluted, he pulled her hand, leading her back to the living room.

He called a maid to take care of Xia Qingtian’s wound.

Xia Qingtian was somewhat disappointed.

Seeing Bo Jingyan so worried about her just then, she thought he would personally attend to her wound.

But it resulted in him calling the maid instead.

Just as Xia Qingtian was gazing resentfully at him, the maid cleaned her wound with alcohol.

As the wound came in contact with the alcohol, a severe pang of pain emanated from her fingertip. Taken aback, she drew a sharp breath. "Hiss, it hurts!"

Upon hearing her painful cry, Bo Jingyan’s heart winced, causing his face to darken all of a sudden.

Even though Xia Qingtian was the one who got hurt, somehow it felt to him as if he was the one experiencing the excruciating pain.

"I wanted you to treat her wound, not damage her hand. Be gentler..." His tone filled with boundless iciness, he growled warningly.

The maid trembled in fright due to his rebuke, causing the cotton swab in her hand to poke at Xia Qingtian’s wound.

The wound on Xia Qingtian’s finger, which had finally stopped bleeding, immediately started to bleed again.

Bo Jingyan’s face turned even more dreadful.

"If you can’t handle such a small matter, then step aside. I’ll do it myself..." he said, immediately dismissing the servant. He then took over the first-aid kit to personally tend to Xia Qingtian’s wound.

Xia Qingtian initially wanted to speak up in defense of the maid, considering it really wasn’t her fault.

But seeing Bo Jingyan preparing to treat her wound himself, she immediately changed her mind and swallowed the words she was about to say with a feeling of guilt.

She decided to compensate the maid with a generous bonus this month.

Bo Jingyan, unaware of Xia Qingtian’s thoughts, said to her, "If it hurt’s let me know."

"Alright." Xia Qingtian nodded cheerfully.

Bo Jingyan cleaned her wound again.

A stinging sensation spread from the tip of Xia Qingtian’s finger, but it was bearable.

But it was as if she had thought of something, she decided not to bear it.
