Chapter 397: Chapter 397 She’s so Sad_1

"If you don’t want to see me, then I will leave first..." Xia Qingtian spoke these words before departing from the hospital room first.

Bo Jingyan watched her retreating figure, an instinctual urge to follow bubbling up within him.

He was shocked by his own uncontrollable actions. His expression darkened considerably, a shadow of thoughts fleeting across his eyes.

...

In the following days.

Although Bo Jingyan had forgotten, Xia Qingtian still took time out of her busy schedule to visit him in the hospital every day.

Still, he seemed to have nothing but a cold facade for her, harshly demanding her departure.

Xia Qingtian knew his amnesia was to blame, so she wasn’t angry.

Nonetheless, a sense of grievance lingered in her heart. After all, this was the same man who once cherished her so deeply - a stark contrast to his current indifference towards her.

She thought she could endure and persist until this day...

After entertaining one of her artists, Xia Qingtian faced the chaos of a storm outside.

Thinking it was still early, she decided to visit Bo Jingyan in the hospital as usual.

Halfway through, her car suddenly broke down. She wanted to hail a cab, but the heavy rain made it impossible to find one.

The unforeseen delay left her pressed for time. If she didn’t get to the hospital soon, Bo Jingyan would be resting.

Resigned, Xia Qingtian left the driver to wait for a tow truck while she braved the rain, walking to the hospital under her umbrella.

Luckily, her car had broken down relatively close to the hospital. A half-hour’s walk should get her there in time to exchange a few words with Bo Jingyan.

The rain hammered down on her, rendering her umbrella useless. By the time she reached the hospital, she was drenched to the skin and a sorry sight to behold.

Xia Qingtian hastily tried to dry herself off before rushing to Bo Jingyan’s room.

"Jingyan...." With a forced smile on her face, she pushes open the door to his room, stopping in her tracks when she sees -

The hospital room was completely empty!

Bo Jingyan was nowhere to be found.

Unbidden, the image of him lying motionless on the hospital bed, unconscious, resurfaced in her mind.

Her heart pounded with fear. What if something had happened to Bo Jingyan?.

Just then, a nurse passed by on her rounds.

Xia Qingtian stepped forward, barring the nurse’s path to inquire about Bo Jingyan’s whereabouts.

The nurse informed her that Bo Jingyan had been discharged.

Upon hearing the news, Xia Qingtian was taken aback.

Discharged?

Why wasn’t she informed?

Seeing that Xia Qingtian had no further questions, the nurse left to continue her rounds leaving Xia Qingtian all alone, standing there in shock.

After a moment, Xia Qingtian finally regained her composure, a bitter smile playing on her lips. She felt like all of her strength had been drained from her, leaving only weariness in its wake.

She was so tired.

Exhausted, Xia Qingtian remained at her spot for a while longer before summoning the strength to leave the hospital.

As she left, the rain outside was still untouched.

She didn’t want to go home just yet. Her house was filled with memories of her and Bo Jingyan. Comparing them to his current attitude towards her, a wave of loss threatened to sweep her away.

Xia Qingtian hence simply wandered aimlessly under her umbrella.

After walking for a while, she noted a bar by the roadside. The ambience seemed inviting.

Without much thought, she went inside. Perhaps due to the heavy rain, the bar was practically empty.

She sat at the bar and ordered a cocktail, hoping it would help her unwind.

Soon, her table was laden with multiple glasses of cocktails.

Picking up a glass, she downed its contents in one gulp.

Before long, half the glasses in front of her were empty. Just as she picked up the next glass and tilted her head back to drink its contents, suddenly...

A hand shot out, snatching the glass from her.

"Don’t drink so much. It’s harmful to your health." A familiar male voice advised.

Xia Qingtian found the voice vaguely familiar.

She turned to see Huo Qilin, who had deprived her of her drink and was now speaking to her.

No wonder the voice sounded familiar.

Instead of snatching the glass back, Xia Qingtian picked up another glass, downed it in one go, wiped her mouth and casually asked, "What brings you to a bar?"

Huo Qilin replied, "The bar owner is a friend of mine. I was looking for him about something and didn’t expect to bump into you."

"What a coincidence," Xia Qingtian smiled casually, "Go ahead with your business. There’s no need to waste time here or your matters will be delayed."

Heeding her words, Huo Qilin didn’t leave but instead seated himself beside her.

"My affairs can wait," he intently surveyed Xia Qingtian. "What’s wrong? Are you bothered about something? Are you facing any issues with the company?"

"If it’s so, feel free to talk to me. I might be able to help."

As he spoke, he steeled himself for any possible issue.

If there were indeed issues, he wouldn’t mind seeking his elder brother’s help. Nothing was unresolvable when his brother intervened.

Xia Qingtian initially intended not to divulge too much.

Upon rememberance of Huo Qilin’s affiliation with the company, she decided not to let him misunderstand that the company was in trouble. It was crucial not to let morale be affected.

She hence admitted somewhat morosely, "No, it’s not related to the company. I’m upset due to a personal matter."

Huo Qilin immediately thought of Bo Jingyan.

A flicker of gloom passed through his eyes, "If you don’t mind, you could share with me. Perhaps venting will provide some relief."

Xia Qingtian’s face flushed crimson due to the alcohol’s influence.

Her mind was somewhat foggy, without clear reasoning to guide her. Huo Qilin’s suggestion seemed reasonable.

She indeed felt stifled.

This period of Bo Jingyan’s sudden memory loss had upset her greatly. Alas, she could not display her feelings. She had to suppress her emotions, leaving them to be gradually processed in her heart.

She was truly in pain and could barely hold on.

And today, Bo Jingyan’s discharge from the hospital was the final straw that broke the camel’s back.

She needed a vent for her feelings.

In the moment, Xia Qingtian did not care much about who the person before her was. She poured out all her bottled-up feelings with a rush.

"He doesn’t remember me anymore!"

"He was comatose for so long, I lived in constant fear, hoping every day that he would wake up. I did not expect him to forget me when he woke up."

"He actually forgot me. He, who loved me so deeply that he was willing to give up his life for me. How could he forget me?"

"Bo Jingyan, you bastard. How can you treat me this way? Making me so miserable. When you get your memory back, you’re going to regret it,"
