"Qingtian, don’t..." Shi Qian immediately grabbed Xia Qingtian’s hand, a flicker of guilt flashing in her eyes.

Upon hearing his words, Xia Qingtian swiftly stepped forward and snatched the soup pot from her hand.

"This was given to me by Mrs. Bo. I need to return it," she unconsciously attempted to snatch back the soup pot.

She promptly backed up a few steps, hiding behind Bo Jingyan, "Jingyan and I will wash this pot clean and personally return it."

Shi Qian bit her lip, her face darkening.

She had guessed why Bo Jingyan wanted to keep the soup pot and a sense of terror surged within her.

But she didn’t dare to compete with Xia Qingtian for the pot.

"Alright, since you two want to personally return it to Mrs. Bo, I won’t disturb you anymore." Shi Qian realized that Bo Jingyan and Xia Qingtian wouldn’t give the pot back to her, so she decided not to waste any more time and prepared to leave after saying those words.

When she reached the office door, she suddenly said with a pitiful tone, "Mr. Bo, I’m sorry. I wanted to keep my feelings for you quiet and not disturb your relationship with Xia Qingtian. But I seem to have messed things up."

"I’m truly sorry. This kind of thing won’t happen again, I hope it won’t affect your relationship with Qingtian."

After she left, Xia Qingtian immediately put down the soup pot, crossed her arms and looked at Bo Jingyan with a questioning face, "Alright, now it’s your turn to explain what just happened."

Bo Jingyan had not expected her to turn against him so suddenly and was taken aback, "Didn’t you say you trusted me?"

He suspected that the soup Shi Qian had given him was tainted, which was why he had asked her to leave the soup pot behind.

She glanced at the soup pot and thought about the innocent expression on Shi Qian’s face when she’d said that she had hugged Bo Jingyan out of impulse, and hadn’t done anything more.

If she really put something in the soup, then her words, would fall apart on their own.

"What responsibilities do I have?" Xia Qingtian was baffled, finding his statement confusing.

Bo Jingyan kindly reminded her, "Aren’t you supposed to be in the hospital? Why are you here at the company all of a sudden?"

But then, her expression changed to a righteous one, "That’s because I called you and you didn’t answer. I was worried something happened to you, so I came to find you."

"Moreover, luckily I arrived just in time to preserve your innocence. Otherwise, who knows what Shi Qian might have done to you out of an uncontrollable impulse?"

"Didn’t you say you trusted me?" Bo Jingyan raised an eyebrow, and chuckled.
