Chapter 577: Chapter 556: Wait until you’re better to talk, don’t boast now!

As Oliver Thompson was lost in thought, the woman had already taken a shower, changed her clothes, and stepped back into the room.

"I thought you ran away, not caring whether I live or die!" Oliver Thompson glanced at the woman who entered the room and was now closing the door, speaking up with a calm voice.

"If I left you here, you’ll be causing a fuss in no time, keeping everyone in the house from sleeping!"

Julie Harrison gave him a fleeting look, then took another quilt from the cabinet, placed it on the bed, dividing the bed into two sides. Oliver Thompson watched as she carefully settled herself into one of them.

She made his quilt comfortable, then finally climbed onto the bed herself, crawled into her own side, and was about to speak when the woman directly switched off the light.

"Rosella, you are disgusted by me!"

After a long silence, the man couldn’t find a proper sentence to say, finally settling on one he had said before.

"Mm, I am quite disgusted by you!"

Julie Harrison was back turned to him and didn’t rebut. She had said everything that needed to be said. This man was just trying to make casual conversation with her. She was tired and didn’t have the energy for it. "Given your pathetic condition, I’d be abnormal if I didn’t detest you!"

As she spoke, the woman shrunk back into her quilt, angering Oliver Thompson so much that his voice turned violent: "If you dare say you’re disgusted by me one more time, I swear once I recover, it won’t be as simple as lying down for three days and nights like the last time!"

"Mm, we’ll talk about it once you’re better. Don’t boast now!"

It seemed the woman had no intention to engage in conversation with him. Whatever he would say, she would comply, showing no interest in further discussion. It seemed she agreed to sleep with him only in the literal sense.

Oliver Thompson was driven to madness. After a pause, he couldn’t help but plead: "Rosella, please talk to me. I can’t sleep!"

Can’t sleep?

Julie Harrison felt that this man was acting too childish!

"If you can’t sleep, why don’t you count sheep? Count up to a thousand and you should be able to sleep!" As she spoke, Julie Harrison added, "This is what Roy does when he can’t fall asleep. It works pretty well!"

She’s teaching him Roy’s method?

A wordless Oliver Thompson was fuming. If it wasn’t for his injuries, he would have taken action on the spot. But on second thought, if it wasn’t for his injuries, there’s a chance she wouldn’t be lying compliantly on the bed.

She must not want Roy to grow up without a father, right?

Thinking about it, a faint hint of bitterness washed over Oliver’s heart.

After another prolonged silence, he couldn’t hold it in any longer. He stealthily snuck his right hand out of his quilt and into the woman’s, inching his body closer to her side. His large hand tenderly rested on her abdomen. After swallowing hard, he said,

"Rosella, Michael’s family has had their second child. Shouldn’t we consider having another one? When Roy phones me, he says he wants a little sister and I promised him. So, should we..."

Perhaps she was uncomfortable with the movement of his hand on her belly, she spoke impatiently: "Oliver Thompson, how many times have I told you, get your health back first. Then we can talk about the rest. You can’t even engage in regular activities, and you dare to think about having children? As a grown man, can’t you behave more maturely instead of causing a disturbance in the middle of the night?"

After finishing, she clenched her teeth and added: "I’m tired, I’m going to sleep!"

The words "going to sleep" seemed to have been gnashed out between her teeth!

Perhaps he was affected by the talk about his health. Oliver Thompson dutifully kept his silence. The next morning when Julie Harrison woke up, to her surprise, she found herself in the man’s arms.

Her head rested on the uninjured side of the man’s chest, and her body naturally snuggled into his arms. As hard as she tried to remember, she was certain she had set out two separate quilts the previous night. Looking at the bed, the two quilts were now mixed together.

"Awake?"

While she was in surprise, a familiar deep voice rang from above her head. It was as soothing as ever, reminding her of the period in the past when they were living a warm life together while expecting Roy.

"How did I end up in your quilt?"

"Of course you crawled over yourself!" The man leaned down to examine her tranquil morning face, "Or do you think that I, struggling with this useless body, was capable of pulling you over without waking you up?"

Speechless, Julie Harrison didn’t know what to say in return.

After a while, she managed to ask: "Are you telling the truth? You’re not lying to me?"

"Mm, it’s true. More real than gold. Last night, you had a nightmare halfway through your sleep and then you threw yourself into my arms. You asked me to not leave you, saying that you do not blame me anymore and that it’s all in the past. As long as I treat you nicely, you’re willing to go back with me and live a good life together with Roy."

After finishing, Oliver Thompson gazed at her patiently, speaking in a very serious tone, "Rosella, now that you have forgiven me, give me a chance to make up for it properly. I won’t let you down. It has been quite a few years of struggle; you’re tired, I’m tired, and Roy is already seven years old and starting to understand things. If we continue to quarrel like this, intentionally or unintentionally, it will affect him, maybe leading him to develop a fear of marriage. There are all sorts of strange illnesses these days!"

Hearing this, Julie Harrison was at a loss for words!

Forgiveness, huh?

It seems that in the past she could say so, but ever since she learned the so-called truth from Amanda Foster, she realized that the person who needed forgiveness wasn’t him. But it doesn’t matter anymore, the important thing is that they can be together again!

They’ll talk about the rest once they returned home!

"Alright, once your injuries are healed, we’ll go home with Roy and live a good life."

Upon hearing this, Julie Harrison distinctly felt the man who was holding her stiffen. Oliver Thompson was stunned. He had foreseen a million responses, but he did not expect an answer that was so decisive, leaving no room for him to argue.

"You’ve forgiven me? You agree to go back with me?"

The man’s voice was filled with incredible excitement. The joy in his heart was about to burst, making him clutch the woman’s frail shoulders a bit too tightly.
