Chapter 465: Chapter 444: Be Careful, I’ll Beat You Up

However, when Ivy Aretha saw the swollen eyes of Sienna Harrison, she couldn’t help herself and complained to Jaysen Smith, "Jaysen Smith, if you dare upset her again, be careful or I’ll punch you. Sienna didn’t marry you to suffer!"

Seeing that Jaysen Smith didn’t give a response and just nodded apologetically, Ivy Aretha awkwardly added, "Except in bed, of course. Anyway, the time you spend in bed is so short that she couldn’t possibly have cried enough to have eyes like grapes!"

Jaysen Smith: ".."

Who told her their time in bed was short?

Jaysen Smith glared coldly at Michael Gordon. Mr. Gordon raised his hands defensively, denying his implication.

Yet everyone knew how close Ivy Aretha and Sienna Harrison were. Jaysen Smith felt warmed by Ivy’s chiding on Sienna’s behalf.

For dinner, they had authentic seafood from the island, accompanied by homemade wine brewed by local farmers. Everyone got high. Even Lina Miller, who was allowed to drink, had a little. Since Ivy Aretha was pregnant, there were some seafood dishes she couldn’t eat and wine she couldn’t drink. She could only watch with envy.

After dinner, the sky had grown pitch-dark, and the lights of the beachfront lit up. Everyone’s mood was lifted by the full meal and the beautiful scenery outside.

Sienna Harrison proposed a stroll, and everyone agreed.

The night beach was less lively than the daytime but more peaceful. Unlike other crowded islands in the West, this island had a dense population but a low number of tourists due to the high cost of living. This made it even quieter at night.

From groups of three to five, there was nowhere near the constant crowded buzz of the usual beach spots.

That’s probably why Michael Gordon and Mario Jensen chose this spot. They unwittingly bumped into each other.

The island was part of the West, and most tourists were Westerners. So when these three pairs of exceptionally attractive people of Asian descent walked side by side on the sand, they instantly became a divine sight.

Three men: one flamboyantly handsome, one scholarly, and another stoically elegant. For the women: one simply charming, one lively and provocative, and another gentle and calm, walking hand in hand.

Ivy Aretha couldn’t help feeling someone was staring at her with an eerie and menacing gaze. In the afternoon, on the cruise ship, she had the same feeling.

Now the feeling had returned, and instinct made her hold Michael Gordon’s wrist tighter. She looked at Sienna Harrison and then at Lina Miller before finally asking, "Sienna, Lina, do you feel like someone’s watching us?"

Lina Miller shook her head, indicating that she hadn’t noticed. As an esteemed actress, she’s used to being watched.

Turning to Sienna Harrison, who also shook her head, they scanned the surrounding people but found no one staring at them.

In the end, Sienna made fun of Ivy with a sly answer, "Perhaps you’re the most attractive to the island people. That’s why they’re looking at you, and we don’t notice."

"Stop being so dramatic and jittery. Being watched means you’re still attractive, even with a watermelon-size belly and plump face, arms, and legs."

Ivy Aretha: ".."

What the hell?

Ivy’s unease subsided after Sienna’s nonsensical rambling. Michael Gordon told her some jokes afterwards, which lightened her mood.

They strolled on the beach for a while and saw some sea lights. Sienna and Lina were still excited, but Ivy was getting tired. Michael got her a chair to sit and rest.

Just as they sat down, Michael’s phone rang.

When Michael Gordon picked up his phone and saw the caller’s ID, he got up and walked away a few steps before answering, keeping his pregnant wife out of any potentially stressful situations.

"Go ahead."

As Michael Gordon took the call, he looked around at the vibrant crowd. Considering his wife could see him clearly with the lights and people around, he decided to take some steps back to maintain her peace. Ivy gave a signal to head off by herself to the side.

Knowing that Ivy was going to be safe, Michael gave her a nod and asked her not to go too far. He had been avoiding her more and more when taking calls recently, but she didn’t suspect any infidelity.

She guessed the caller was Calvin Gordon who would be calling Michael about family matters. Especially since they had been flaunting their love publicly since her pregnancy announcement, the wedding planning, and Michael leaving his company to go on a honeymoon with her.

So naturally, Ivy thought that Calvin called to scold Michael, so she moved away. Michael, a man of pride, would not let his wife hear him getting scolded. His fragile ego would be shattered.

She understood this about him.

Ever since meeting Michael, her life significantly changed. First, she finally had a family, then someone to take care of her, to love her.

In this entire process, as a woman, she knew it was Michael who gave in more. Now facing such a substantial barrier, she couldn’t do anything but feel powerless.

She felt anxious. While she was walking away, she kicked the fine sand on the beach with the bottom of her feet. The dust of the fine sand drew a perfect arc in the air and then settled like smoke.

Playing once wasn’t enough. She glanced at Michael, who was about thirty meters away, still on hold. He kept pacing back and forth and seemed rather anxious and impatient. Ivy Aretha’s mood suddenly turned sour.

She then kicked the fine sand on the beach with all her might. Because of her increased motion, the dust from the fine sand spread more widely. So, Ivy Aretha deliberately kicked the sand underneath her feet, thrice in a row. On her last kick, the force was so strong that the sand ended up hitting a man. It was too late to stop.

"You’re a grown-up, but you’re still playing with the sand!"

A cold, flat voice came from the person she had hit. The voice was deep, but the Mandarin was slightly awkward or inharmonious. Ivy looked up and saw the man’s face.
