Chapter 422: Chapter 401: Don’t Disturb Me While I’m Falling in Love!

"So what if it’s an old cucumber used by others? When I used it, at least it was fresh and tender. Now it’s been used and ruined by others! What’s there to be proud of?"

Julie Harrison either lost her patience or was too stingy even for the phone bill, and burst out angrily, "You guys can roll away slowly. This young lady won’t accompany you any more. Goodbye!"

After saying this, Julie realised something was wrong and added angrily, "Goodbye, never see again!"

Before her trembling hand, filled with rage, could swipe to hang up, an explosive sound came through the handset.

"Julie Harrison, you try saying ’never see again’ one more time!! You try to say another ’old cucumber’, ’rotten cucumber’!!"

Oliver Thompson roared and screamed into the phone, his deep voice like a thunderbolt, and shook Julie Harrison’s trembling fingers off course as they were about to swipe the hang-up button.

Julie was shocked by this thunderous voice and took three seconds to react. The person on the other end of the phone had already changed, so he must have heard her scolding Cathy!

Old cucumber? Rotten cucumber?

Used by others before?

And that "other" person is herself?

Julie had a bad feeling that this man was really going to tear her apart!

"With all your strength, go use it on Cathy and don’t yell at me. What’s your intention?"

Men may get very angry, but they are not in front of her, so she doesn’t need to be afraid. She can’t live her whole life fearing him, so this time, Julie has developed extraordinary courage and, having heard the man’s angry voice, she retorts right back, "Where am I wrong? You are indeed an old cucumber, rotten cucumber; why won’t you let people say it?"

"Am I not allowed to speak the truth? You want to try? Fine, I’ll say it, you’re an old cucumber, a rotten cucumber...!"

Somehow, the more she said, the more wronged Julie felt. The mere thought of the man’s sturdy body pressing down on another woman made her inexplicably cold, angry, and furious inside!

This complex feeling was like wanting to tear the person on the other side apart right now.

Listening to the woman’s angry voice endlessly coming into his ears and the repeating sound like a tape recorder conveying her grievances and anger, his originally blazing emotions were instantly extinguished.

"Pfft!"

Suddenly, Julie heard a sneering laughter coming from the other end of the phone. The familiar man’s voice, that of Oliver Thompson, was light and unrestrained, as if he had just heard a great joke.

It was entirely different from his previous rage. Just as she thought she had misheard, the familiar and lazy voice came over the phone with a careless laughter, "If I am an old cucumber, rotten cucumber, it’s all thanks to you, being used up by you!"

Julie: "..."

She seemed to have said that when she used him, he was still tender, right?

With that single sentence, the woman’s emotions were completely stabilized, and an abnormal blush crossed her fair skin.

"You... Nonsense... I didn’t use you up, I didn’t wear you out!"

She doesn’t know why the phone on the other end suddenly switched people. She didn’t pay attention before and was only concerned with venting her anger. Now that she’s calmed down, she realized something, that Cathy had just said she wasn’t going to answer her calls, right?

Why did she answer again?

Did Cathy find her too noisy?

"Apart from you, my cucumber hasn’t been used by anyone else. You’re already getting sick of me being old and rotten, so who else could it be?" Oliver Thompson spoke casually, his tone carrying a pleasant laugh.

Julie: "..."

Now she knew what it felt like to lift a stone and drop it on her own foot!

For a moment, Julie couldn’t find the right words and had to fall silent!

It wasn’t entirely correct for her to say "silent"; she had always been silent in front of him. Tonight’s conversation had already broken the limit of their interactions in their nearly 20 years of acquaintance!

Neither person spoke; they just held their phones tightly, listening to each other’s breathing through the handset.

Time passed second by second, and in the end, it was still Julie who admitted defeat first.

"It’s getting late, people are waiting for you. You go ahead and do your thing. I’m hanging up!"

"You dare to hang up?!" As soon as Julie’s words fell, the man’s cold, familiar threatening voice came from the other side, "Try hanging up, and next time, it won’t be just three days that you won’t be able to get out of bed; I promise I’ll make you unable to get out of bed for a month. You can test my stamina if you dare!"

Julie: "..."

His stamina? She wouldn’t dare to test it; he was someone who had practiced martial arts for years!

"How did you know I stayed in bed for three days?"

After a while, Julie couldn’t help but ask again. After all, he had left after finishing, so how could he know what happened afterward? As soon as the words were spoken, Julie rapidly realized her mistake and remembered there was something called a phone in the world; her precious son must have worried about her and called his father!

Oliver Thompson would never take the initiative to care about her!

Although Julie had already found the answer to her own question, the man’s light remark shattered it.

"I know my own stamina!"

Oliver Thompson chuckled and spoke, knowing without thinking that the woman on the other end of the phone was definitely bewildered. He added, "Next time you don’t listen, you’ll have to stay in bed for another day!"

"Oliver Thompson!"

Julie finally couldn’t control her temper. He was unclear with Cathy late at night and still dared to mention rolling on bed sheets. He must have incredibly thick skin!

However, Julie only shouted once and hadn’t had a chance to speak when she heard the sound of fingers tapping on the glass coming from the other end of the phone. It was apparent that it was the sound of a car window being knocked on by someone outside.

"Are you in the car?"

"What else?" Oliver Thompson frowned as he glanced at the parking attendant knocking on his window, then spoke indifferently, "Do you think I’d be in bed?"

Julie: "..."

It seemed that the last time they had parted, they were still in a cold war, but now, after a phone call, it was like two quarreling lovers.

Last time, she was raped!

On the other end of the phone, the woman had stopped making noise. Oliver Thompson rolled down the car window. An old man who collected parking fees said to him, "You can’t park here. Drive away now, or you’ll be fined!"

"Fine?" Oliver Thompson raised his eyebrows and picked up a check from the car which he filled in with 20,000, then threw it at the man, "I’ve paid all my fines for the year. Now, you fuck off and don’t disturb me during my date!"
