Chapter 416: Chapter 395: Has the man of your family gone mad?
"Cathy, Roy, what’s going on?"
Ivy Aretha widens her eyes at the scene in the bedroom: the woman is hiding tightly under the quilt while the young boy is pouncing on her covered body. He’s trying hard to pull the quilt back to see her, but she grabs him fiercely.
"Auntie Ivy, my mom is dying, please save her!"
Seeing Ivy, Roy Thompson immediately gets up from the bed and throws himself at her, hugging her thighs and crying even harder, "Please save my mom!"
"What happened to your mom? How could she die so suddenly?" Ivy bends down to pry the little boy’s hands from her thighs, gently wiping the tears from the corner of his eyes. If Julie Harrison were really dying, Oliver Thompson wouldn’t have left this morning!
From what she could see, that man still had some feelings for Julie. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have spent half a year here with them. For him, time was more precious than gold. If it weren’t for someone he truly cared about, why would he waste it so?
So, it’s impossible for Julie to be sick. "Roy, did you misunderstand something? Tell Auntie!"
"Auntie Ivy, my mom’s neck is covered in red things like strawberries, so many of them! Mom won’t let me see, but I saw on TV that people with the plague get this kind of thing on their bodies. I think mom must have gotten the plague, otherwise, why wouldn’t she let me see?"
Ivy: "..."
Red things like strawberries?
On her neck?
Oliver left early this morning and even said some nonsensical words to her. Last night, Roy slept with Bianca, so...
With that thought, Ivy’s inquiring gaze falls on Julie, who seems to understand the question in her eyes and nods to her. Ivy instantly understands and bursts out laughing!
"Roy, your mom is fine; she’s not sick. The plague was a thing of ancient times; we’re in the 21st century now, and the plague has long been eradicated. The marks on your mom’s neck were drawn by your dad last night. Only girls can see them, not children like you!"
As she explains, Ivy can’t help but bend over laughing at the hilariously embarrassing situation. She’s practically bursting with laughter.
Hearing that his mom is not sick, Roy stops his crying immediately. With his small hands wiping away his tears, he looks at Ivy with a sobbing expression and asks, "Really? Is my mom really not sick? But Dad said she might not be able to get out of bed for a few days. How could it be if she’s not ill?"
Upon hearing this, Ivy feels an urge to die. Oliver’s son is more considerate and meticulous than her own daughter. Although he seems more innocent than the precocious Bianca, his careful thoughts make it difficult for anyone to deceive him casually.
"Of course, she’s not sick! Your dad said that your mom might not be able to get out of bed because she might have a little sister in her belly. If she gets up carelessly, she might scare the little sister away!"
Ivy makes up a lame excuse to reassure him, but she knows that even she can’t fool Roy with such reasoning.
"But auntie’s belly also has a baby, so why can auntie get out of bed while mom cannot?"
As expected, Roy brings up this counterargument, and Bianca, who is standing next to him, nods her head in curiosity, expressing her confusion as well.
Without even thinking, Ivy blurts out, "That’s because auntie’s belly has a boy, and your mom’s belly has a girl! Boys are stronger, and girls are more fragile, so auntie can walk around anytime, but your mom needs to lie in bed for two days before she can walk!"
"Auntie Ivy, is everything you said true?" Roy stares into Ivy’s eyes, uncertain whether to believe her or not. "You didn’t lie to me?"
Believe it or not!
"Of course, I didn’t lie to you!" Ivy shakes her head and laughs, then stretches out her hand to touch the little boy’s head while laughing softly and assuring him, "I’m giving my most precious daughter to you; how could I dare to lie to you? If I lied to you, what if you treat my precious daughter poorly?"
Bianca: "..."
Wouldn’t mommy worry about her treating him poorly?
It seems like this little brother is not as fierce as she is!
"Hmm, I believe auntie Ivy didn’t lie to me!" Upon hearing her words, Roy finally feels reassured, nodding his little head continuously, expressing his belief in her.
"Now you take your sister out to watch TV while auntie has breakfast with your mom!"
Ivy ruffles the little guy’s head and looks at Bianca, gesturing her to take Roy away.
Without hesitation, the little one hurries over with her short legs and pulls at Roy, "Little brother, will you watch cartoons with me?"
She asks if it’s okay, but her little hand is already leading him away.
Roy looks at Julie on the bed and sees her nodding, assuring him that she’s fine before allowing Bianca to pull him from the room. As they reach the door, Roy turns to Ivy with a stern admonition, "Auntie Ivy, remember to make sure my mom eats breakfast!"
This was a task assigned to him by his dad, and he must report back to him. He can’t be sloppy with it.
"Auntie knows, darling, go and have fun!"
Ivy pats her chest to assure him and sends them out the door. She then shuts and locks the door, taking two steps at a time to Julie’s bedside. She pulls back the twisted quilt, asking, "What’s going on? How did you two end up scaring the kids?"
Ivy’s reproachful words hardly leave her lips before her eyes are shocked by the sight of the purple marks covering Julie’s body.
From her neck down, her body is covered in dense hickey marks. The entire upper part of her body has no untouched, healthy skin, even her arms haven’t been spared!
The varying depths of the marks show the man’s force; some even have clear teeth marks.
Ivy doesn’t dare look at the lower part of her body!
It’s too horrifying!
Was this man a vampire?
"Oh my God!" Ivy exclaims in shock, her eyes wide open. "Is your man crazy? Or possessed? Why are you looking like a ghost?"
When a man is crazy, he likes to leave marks on a woman’s body that belong to him. This has nothing to do with anything. When Michael Gordon goes crazy, he makes her look unpresentable too, calling it an expression of love for his wife.
