Chapter 373: Chapter 352: If you leave, I might as well just die!

Strange?

A scorching hot tear fell from Lina’s eyes as she was taken aback. How could she blame him?

She willingly gave him the best of herself and could bear his child without regret!

But why did he think otherwise?

"You knew?" Lina’s pale face showed a hint of panic, "How did you know?"

That night, Mario was completely drunk and didn’t know how he had gotten home. Moreover, whenever Mario was drunk, he would not remember the events. She knew this better than anyone else, so whenever he socialized, she always accompanied him. Every time someone tried to pour him alcohol, she would make an excuse that she was feeling unwell and needed to head back!

She was afraid that Mario might do something reckless when drunk and cause some significant loss without her knowledge. So he never drank outside. That day he drank because Michael Gordon and Ivy Aretha had gotten married, and he was in a bad mood!

Unable to control himself, he went to the bar. As a result, she secretly followed him, fearing that someone might take advantage of his situation!

However, she never thought that he had mistaken her for Ivy, and the thing she had always longed for happened. The next day, she woke up without any surprises, assuming that he thought it was just a wet dream that left no traces afterwards.

But now he said he knew?

"Why did you know?"

The surprised words slipped out of Lina’s mouth as if it were an instinctual response.

"Lina, you really are muddled. How could I not know about something that I did? Besides..."

Mario glanced at the group of doctors working hard to save the unborn baby, and then whispered in her ear with a light smile, "Besides, there was such an apparent beautiful stain on the bed sheet, even if my heart was blind, my eyes were not blind!"

It was clearly Lina’s face, but he had still called out Ivy’s name. The sensation had been too real that night, but he was unwilling to admit it. He always felt like it was a dream, until the next day when he saw the bright virgin bloodstains on the bed sheet!

He had no choice but to acknowledge how despicable his self-deception was!

Lina stared at him, her eyes welling up with tears involuntarily. Her heart ached as if being wrung out, a pain that seemed to stem from her knowing that he had never blamed her and was reluctantly leaving him!

But the child!

Thinking about the child, Lina’s hand couldn’t help but reach for her swollen belly. Unfortunately, she could only touch half of it, the other half blocked by a curtain.

"Fabian, that’s your child. You have to save him!"

This is the child I wanted to give you even at the cost of my life, so you must ensure... Lina couldn’t finish her sentence, she just felt the pain in her chest slowly spreading downwards, obviously shifting to her abdomen.

"Not good, Mr. Jensen, the child is about to slip out..."

Mario frowned, glanced at his watch, exactly twenty minutes had passed. He then looked deeply into Lina’s swollen belly, his eyes filled with bitter pain. The next moment, Mario waved his hand: "Take the baby out!"

If they dragged on any longer, they might lose the opportunity to save the mother as well. Although he was reluctant, he couldn’t bear to lose the woman lying on the operating table even more!

"No!"

Upon hearing Mario say to remove the child, Lina almost used all her strength to shout out a single word. The next moment, her trembling hands grabbed the corner of Mario’s clothes and murmured, "Fabian, I... please, don’t take the child away, it’s your child!"

"I know, Lina, but compared to the child, I want you more!"

Looking at the woman on the operating table, her face so pale and weak that she seemed to disappear right in front of him, Mario’s heart ached as blood slowly soaked his chest, full of the pain of swallowing his breath, suffocating and growing thicker, with all the consciousness in his mind being replaced by the fear of losing her.

Mario’s eyes welled up, a scorching tear stealthily falling, landing on Lina’s face: "Lina, don’t leave me, okay? You can’t just leave me alone!"

Almost kneeling in front of the operating table, the man held her hand, calling her name gently as his face brimmed with tears: "Lina, do you know? When Ivy married Michael, my heart felt empty..."

Lina couldn’t hold on any longer, her face becoming paler and her breath weaker. Her eyes could barely open, but her consciousness was crystal clear, focused only on saving her child with Mario. However, upon hearing these unexpected words, Lina’s eyes widened again!

When Ivy Aretha and Michael Gordon got married, he felt his heart empty?

Then why was he so kind to her?

She knew it all, but when life and death were uncertain, hearing such words filled her not with bitterness but with utter despair!

The bottom of her eyes dimmed as the man continued to speak.

"But Lina, do you know? When you left without a word, leaving only a letter, my heart didn’t feel empty, but rather... I felt nothing at all!"

After saying this, Mario’s tears flowed uncontrollably like a broken floodgate, his words choked, "Lina, a person with no heart, how can I live? At that time, I thought if I couldn’t find you, I might as well die!"

Having said that, Mario cried directly on her hand!

Staring at the man crying in despair in front of her, Lina allowed her tears to blur her eyes, as her heart was overwhelmed with countless waves of shock. He didn’t say ’I love you’ or even ’I like you.’

But he had told her that he wanted to be with her through life and death. He couldn’t live without her!

"Fabian..."

Lina could no longer distinguish whether her current state of consciousness was real or false, and could only rely on her intuition to call out his name repeatedly in a whisper. Her eyes were too tired to open, and the only two words left in her mind were: Fabian!

She originally had been content to marry him and give him a child, and thought that would be enough.

But now, after hearing his words, she realized that she was not satisfied at all!

Because she wanted more!

She wanted to stay by his side and grow old together!

But now, it seemed unrealistic!

"Mr. Jensen!"

The doctors in the operating room had done everything they could to buy as much time as possible. The whole room of doctors had been moved by the man’s deeply affectionate cries. They never imagined that the usually stern and aloof Eldest Young Master Jensen could love his wife and lover so much!

In this day and age, let alone living and dying together, accidents were constant. But in the end, how many people couldn’t live without each other?
