Chapter 275: 255. A man who dares to yell at his wife will eventually get divorced.

"They wanted to kidnap me, but there were two groups acting simultaneously, and they weren’t sure which one was me, so they kidnapped both of us?"

Ivy Aretha boldly put forth the possibility that had formed in her mind. With each word, her heart tightened further. She didn’t know what those people would do to Bianca when they discovered that she was the real target.

When Brother Dunn called and said they could proceed, they must have known that she was the target!

Would they do something to Bianca Aretha and Cathy if they discovered that she had escaped?

Each thought of her daughter’s soft, cute face made Ivy’s heart tremble. Michael Gordon and Oliver Thompson’s people had already gone out to investigate. Bianca’s shoes had once been bugged by Michael Gordon with a locator.

But they soon discovered that the kidnappers had found the locator and were unable to trace its position. They could only wait for satellite searches and the deployed scouts to proceed.

Sienna Harrison was comforting Ivy as Jaysen Smith studied a map with glasses on. Michael Gordon picked up the phone with a pale face and walked into the study room farthest from the hall.

Such a secretive action, it was clear from his face how serious the situation was. Ivy’s suspicions in her heart became clearer at this moment.

She let go of the hand holding her wrist and walked towards the study where Michael Gordon was on the phone.

As soon as she reached the study, she heard the heavily suppressed, low voice of Michael Gordon coming through the door.

"Dad, she is my daughter, your own granddaughter. How could you do this?!"

Michael Gordon’s voice was almost a growl. The sound was clearly about to burst with rage, but it felt helpless because of the restraint. It made Ivy’s heart ache slightly.

Ivy was not surprised by what she heard. After all, she had already guessed it!

As she had suspected, it was indeed Calvin Gordon who was behind this. She could understand why he hated her, but why did he direct his hatred towards his own granddaughter as well?

Could hatred really make a person so cold-hearted?

Not knowing what was said on the other end of the phone, Ivy heard the sound of a fist hitting the wall. As Michael Gordon’s hoarse voice broke out again, she seemed to understand.

"Dad, don’t push me!"

One sentence followed by another!

"I will not hand Ivy over to you. The choice you made me make, I made it back then. I am your son, and you know what kind of character I have. I never say anything twice, and I never make a choice twice!"

It was clear that the speaker’s heart was bleeding, but Ivy’s blood seemed to flow even more fiercely!

He had said that he would love her forever once he believed, and now he believed deeply!

But hearing this, she wished he wasn’t a man who stuck to his promises!

That way, the burden of guilt would be one person less. Loving a woman with a blood feud against him would require carrying so much. Ivy didn’t have to think about it. She could tell from the sound of his voice how much he had to endure.

Hearing this, Ivy, who originally planned to push the door open and enter, stopped in her tracks. She stood dumbfounded at the entrance. After a moment, she heard the phone disconnect and the sound of light footsteps moving outward. She hurriedly retreated to her original spot.

"Ivy, are you feeling unwell?" Sienna Harrison noticed that when Ivy returned after being away for just a few minutes, her complexion had worsened. She instinctively thought Ivy was feeling unwell and reached out to support her. After all, a woman’s endurance had its limits.

With a bang!

The sound of the study room door being slammed shut. Michael Gordon walked out with a cold face, phone in hand, then glanced at Oliver Thompson and Jaysen Smith:

"Stop searching. They’re in Leon Mountain in the suburbs. Oliver, you go with me and bring some men. Jaysen, you stay here and look after Ivy."

"I don’t need anyone to look after me. I want to go too!"

Ivy jumped up as if on instinct. Michael Gordon knew the location after the phone call, so of course she wanted to follow!

"What are you going to do with a body that seems ready to die at any moment? No way!"

Michael Gordon roared at Ivy upon hearing her words. The overwhelming anger, mixed with pent-up emotions, surprised her!

She stared blankly at the handsome face obscured by the gloom and fury. This was the first time she had seen him lose his temper since knowing Michael Gordon.

He had always been suave and charming, a true rogue, never angry regardless of the situation or form. He could always flirt with her anytime, anywhere, and never lose his temper.

But today, he was angry!

"Michael Gordon, why are you yelling? Don’t you know Ivy is worried? Any man who dares to yell at his wife is bound to be divorced sooner or later!"

Sienna Harrison had also been startled by Michael’s sudden outburst. But she reacted faster than Ivy and stepped in to defend Ivy. What kind of love, what nonsense of a man!

A real man should be like Jaysen Smith, never angry, never yelling at women, or rather, not yelling at women even when they’re mad!

Having experienced their relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend by agreement for some time, Sienna Harrison increasingly felt that Jaysen Smith was an excellent man. Although he appeared elegant and refined, he was actually very manly when it came to getting things done!

Most importantly, he never yelled at her like Michael Gordon!

"Sienna, don’t say that about him!"

Ivy pulled the agitated Sienna, indicating that she should be quiet. She naturally understood why Michael Gordon had lost control of his emotions and yelled at her like that. He was probably afraid that she would encounter danger if she went with him!

Or perhaps he was afraid that she would be frightened!

His anger could better be described as fear, the fear of being hurt!

After all, Calvin Gordon’s intention was clear: to exchange her for Bianca. If he could kidnap Bianca and still call Michael Gordon, at least he wouldn’t want to kill his own granddaughter. He would only want to kill her!

Michael Gordon, however, had no intention of handing her over. Of course, there was no way he would find out that she had overheard the phone conversation!

She understood his dilemma!

And how much he cherished her!

But she also wanted to make an effort!

"Michael, I won’t hold you back..."

Ivy’s words were cut short by Michael Gordon.

"Just wait at home for me to bring back our daughter. Oh, you can make some of her favorite food, she must be starving by now. Cathy definitely won’t be able to cook today!"

Michael Gordon realized his impulsiveness and forcibly calmed his voice down, nearly pampering Ivy tenderly.

Ivy knew that he would definitely not let her go, so talking more would be pointless. Instead, she just nodded and stopped talking.

Michael Gordon, Oliver Thompson, and their team departed, leaving Jaysen Smith and Sienna Harrison to look after Ivy.
