Chapter 274: 254. My daughter was not the only one who was kidnapped.

After descending the mountain, Michael Gordon took her to a restaurant at the foot of the mountain for some food before returning to the city. It was unfortunately during rush hour, so they spent more than two hours driving from the mountain to their home.

As soon as they got upstairs, they felt something was off.

The familiar environment was strangely quiet, and by the time they reached the front door, Michael Gordon was almost certain that something had happened!

When Ivy handed him the keys, his hand trembled. As they entered, they discovered his suspicions were indeed true. The four bodyguards were scattered around the hall. There was no sight of Cathy nor Bianca Aretha.

Michael’s heart seized, and Ivy let out a roaring cry: "Bianca!"

She rushed towards the bedroom. Under such circumstances, it was clear that Bianca could not be at home. She must have been abducted.

"Cathy!!!"

When Ivy discovered that Bianca was not home, she completely broke down. She rummaged through each room, including the bathroom, kitchen and even the cupboards. When they found no trace of Bianca, Ivy collapsed onto the floor. Michael Gordon was making a call. Seeing her like this, he immediately reached out to steady her.

"Yes, right now, immediately!"

"Michael Gordon, are you getting a kick out of bossing me around?" Oliver Thompson exploded over the phone on the other end. "Aren’t the men I left in Andras City, enough for you? Now you want me to take action?"

"Of course. The person who could abduct someone from my home would either be someone I know and who I am uncomfortable intervening with or someone who I wouldn’t be capable of intervening. So, in either case, you are the most suitable!"

Despite being on a call, panic welled up in the pit of Michael Gordon’s stomach. He was unsure who had kidnapped Bianca. First, they cut off their ropeway down the mountain, and now they have invaded his home. The door had been intact and his men knocked unconscious.

The average person couldn’t manage this. Let alone getting through the door, the four men in the room would be able to stop them from leaving.

Who could it be then?

Was there such a big vendetta?

Could it be someone they were familiar with?

An answer that was almost impossible to believe emerged, and yet, it was swiftly denied. It was an unacceptable possibility.

"Michael Gordon, you’re really something. First, you ask me to save your wife. Now, you want me to save your daughter. You..."

"It’s not just my daughter that’s been abducted!" Michael Gordon interrupted. He was overwhelmed and had neither the time nor the mood to engage in verbal sparring with the man. Explaining further would be pointless. "Your woman is missing, too!"

Michael could hear Oliver’s breathing intensify over the phone. He knew he would be here soon.

"Michael Gordon, clear this up. How is my woman kidnapped along with your daughter?" It seemed that Oliver roared on the other end of the line, his furious demeanor was as if he wanted to tear Michael apart. "You promised to take care of her. So what now?"

Now he heard that she and his daughter had been abducted by people whose identities and names were unknown.

"Don’t shit me at this time. Bring your people over here as fast as you can. I don’t have time to argue with you!" Michael said and hung up the phone. He knew Oliver would arrive soon, but he had to find his daughter first.

He then called his people to initiate a city-wide search. As time ticked away, there was no information about Bianca’s whereabouts, nor were there any messages from the kidnapper.

Ivy was not doing well. By the afternoon, with no news, Ivy felt her knees go weak.

"Michael, what if they harm Bianca?"

Because of her experiences, Ivy instinctively expected the worst.

"No, Bianca is so young. It’s impossible for her to offend anyone. The only possibility is that they are targeted us. Since it’s against us, they surely will give us a call. So, let’s wait a bit more!"

Although he said that to Ivy, Michael’s heart was surging with anxiety. Yet he had to stay calm, especially under such circumstances.

After the bodyguards in the room regained consciousness, they said all they remembered was that someone knocked and claimed to be delivering breakfast. As soon as the door was opened, they were caught off guard and knocked out.

The attackers were all masters who didn’t give them a chance to resist. It seemed they had detailed information about their skills and the attack was premeditated.

Oliver Thompson arrived at Ivy’s house by 2 p.m. Immediately upon entering the door, they locked themselves in a room and had an argument. After they had calmed down, they started the rescue operation.

The strange thing was, by night time, there was still no progress, no clue about where the victims might be.

Jaysen Smith, Madeline, and Sienna Harrison who came to know about the situation also rushed over to help. Mario Jensen, who was not in the country, also made a call to them. By ten at night, Ivy fell sick and started having a high fever.

Lucas Sandy was present, so her illness was under control, but there was still no news.

"Boss, maybe someone was planning to kidnap Ivy and her daughter. When they came, they did not notice and must have thought that Cathy was Ivy, so they abducted both."

Adam boldly broke the silence with his speculation.

"Cathy?"

Oliver’s eyes widened as he heard this name: "Michael Gordon, what’s going on? Is it true that my woman has been hiding in your house? And you had her working as a babysitter?"

Oliver remembered the day when something had happened to Ivy. The person dealing with the issue over the phone had been called by this name. At that time, he did not pay any attention, but it was her!

Damn it! How could she be using such a common name to hide her identity?

"If she hadn’t been here with me, how would you have managed? Do you really believe that a woman as delicate and gentle as her, who has never worked under the sun, could survive? She would be bullied wherever she went. Hurry up and get your people to investigate!"

Thinking of Adam’s words, if they happened to be true, then their target was not Bianca but Ivy. They must have orchestrated the abductions simultaneously.

"Their target might be Ivy. They must have followed her to the set while sending someone directly to our house, so they staged abductions at both places!"

Although reluctant to accept this harsh reality, Michael had to express this possibility. This made Ivy think of something. The man with the scar on his face who claimed to be the ’boss’ in the cave yesterday had kept saying that he was waiting for Brother Dunn’s call before he could make his move.

Later, he said that the call from Brother Dunn had arrived, so he could send her to her doom!

Considering these things, a daring hypothesis sprang up in Ivy’s mind!

No, it would be accurate to say that a terrifying fact was staring them in the face...
