Chapter 247: 228, The Origin Story of Ivy Aretha

"I’ll take you both home first!"

Michael Gordon glanced at Calvin Gordon, who was being supported by Risa Scott, held Bianca Aretha in his arms, took Ivy Aretha’s hand and started to leave. Letting them, mother and daughter, stay in the Gordon family any longer right now would only make the situation worse. He had not expected what happened today.

Seeing his own son together with that woman, an enraged Calvin Gordon picked up the tea cup on the tea table and threw it violently. "Michael Gordon, you stand still, don’t you dare walk out on me! If you dare leave this house with this woman this year, you are not my son!"

The crisp shattering of ceramic pieces echoed in the spacious living room, immersing the room in a tense atmosphere. Michael Gordon halted his steps, then turned to Calvin Gordon and said calmly, "Dad, if there’s anything you need, I’ll come back to discuss it. Right now, I need to take them home!"

"Michael, we can go back on our own!"

Ivy, speaking as she freed Bianca from his hold. The little lady always being well-behaved, Bianca promptly said when Ivy reached out to hold her, "Mommy, your foot hurts, let me down. I can walk on my own!"

With that said, her clear eyes looked at Ivy while squirming a little in her arms to signal her to let her down. Ivy had no intention of putting her down. She was somewhat taken aback by the current atmosphere and naturally she worried that Bianca would get scared. Even though the child was a little heavy, Ivy still insisted on holding her in her arms.

Michael Gordon’s eyebrows knitted tightly together, his gaze landed on Ivy’s feet, then he took hold of her directly. "I’ll take you home first!"

As he spoke, he took hold of Bianca and began walking towards the car with Ivy in tow.

"Young Master, why not let the driver take them!"

Aunt Wagner, who had been with the Gordon family for over a decade, quickly picked up on the tense atmosphere, "The old master is acting out of anger now, this isn’t the time to defy him. If you continue to resist, he will only shift the blame onto the young mistress and the little miss. This will only worsen his impression of them!"

What Aunt Wagner understood, Ivy knew even better. She hadn’t clarified the situation before primarily because she wanted to understand Michael Gordon’s stance. After all, they didn’t have a solid emotional foundation between them. They had only known each other for a little over half a year. The choice between his father and his woman was laid out before him, and the situation escalated so intensely as soon as trouble appeared.

When there are no troubles, men are reliable. But when problems arise, it is uncertain -- as with Zach Gilbert back then. She didn’t know if he was like that, but deep down, Ivy wanted to put him to the test.

Now, Michael Gordon’s stance is clear. At least he did not abandon them in front of his father. This did offer her some consolation. If previously her statement about going back on her own was just offhand remarks, after all that has happened, it is not just empty words anymore.

"Michael, Aunt Wagner is right. You should first go to pacify your father’s anger. I don’t know how much hatred Luna Cooper has for your family, you’d better understand the situation. I’ll take Bianca home first, okay?"

After saying that, Ivy looked at Bianca and said, "Bianca, tell daddy that we are going home first!"

"Daddy, mommy and I are going home first!" Bianca said obediently, giving Michael Gordon’s chin a little kiss, "Grandpa has been naughty and needs to be pacified. Daddy, you go ahead!"

"But...."

"No buts!"

Michael Gordon wanted to say something but was cut off by Ivy’s words. "What we need is a future, not to dwell on the present!"

When some things happen, if they aren’t addressed, they will never be resolved. Because the gully in the human heart will only grow deeper.

A simple phrase, but spoken with a sense of commitment. Michael Gordon’s heart was shattered by her unexpected words, and he was stunned by the slight hint of amazement in Ivy’s dazed eyes.

Some love was hot because it was grand and passionate, some love was sincere because it was slow and simple. But he never thought that some love could deepen in an instant because it was unexpected.

He was in love with Ivy and hoped to have a real future with her, so since he began to have feelings for her, he had been anxious and afraid of losing her. He tried everything possible to make a commitment, but he didn’t get it, even with his best efforts. To his surprise, at this moment, she just gave it to him!

"Right, we want a future!" Michael Gordon’s emotions were somewhat excited, so excited that even his voice trembled, "We will definitely have a future!"

Only after a while did Ivy understand that this was his commitment. She nodded and said, "Then you go back first. I’ll drive your car!"

"Okay!" This time Michael Gordon did not insist anymore, he just adjusted her seat and set up all the car’s safety measures, and then instructed her, "You can drive slowly. I’ve adjusted the car’s safety speed and safe distance settings for you. Call me if anything happens. I’ll be back shortly!"

Michael Gordon gave Bianca a kiss, then gave one to her. Only when the car drove away and completely disappeared in front of him did he go back into the house.

Ivy was driving very slowly, and Bianca was quietly sitting in the co-pilot’s seat with her head down, playing with her securely fastened safety egg, a single glance was enough to know her mood was not good.

Ivy didn’t know what to say to comfort her, so she didn’t say a word. She just concentrated on driving the car. After a while, the little lady could no longer hold back and turned to look at her, her tone filled with anticipation, "Mommy, will grandpa make daddy leave us? Grandpa looks very angry!"

Even without looking, Ivy could imagine her daughter’s hopeful look.

Seeing Ivy did not respond immediately, the little girl added, "Mommy, will I lose my daddy again?"

No matter how mature Bianca was or how she understood, it only existed in those amazing dialogues. Her heart was still that of a child, in her consciousness, it was only the mommy who would never leave. Although there was a daddy now, he was still in a state of possible loss at any time, so she would panic at the slightest sign of trouble.

"No!" Ivy gave a firm answer, "Even if mommy has already given you a dad, she will not allow you to lose him again!"

She also believed that Michael Gordon was not the type to abandon his wife. Furthermore, their affairs as adults could not involve the children in any way. Her and Michael Gordon’s future was not important, what was important was to allow her daughter to have a good future.

"Then I’m relieved!" Hearing mommy’s promise, the little girl’s mood suddenly improved, "Mommy, I’m hungry. Can I go to the steak restaurant where daddy took us last time?"

Children are like this, worries come quickly but leave just as fast. Once Bianca received Ivy’s assurance, she immediately moved on and thought about eating!

"Alright, mommy will take you to eat!"

Originally they were supposed to have a reunion dinner at the Gordon home, but now they could only dine at a western restaurant. Albeit Ivy’s mood was heavy and her head was slightly aching, she still tried to appear nonchalant in front of Bianca.

But unexpectedly, who they met here of all places was someone they never should have encountered!
