Chapter 212: 193. Deeply Loved Scars

"Hah! Can’t even find a woman, yet you talk so big!"

Michael Gordon’s disdainful tone had just spoken when the man’s voice on the phone came through again.

"Do you think she’s become a stepmother to someone else just to take revenge on me?" Oliver Thompson’s gloomy voice contained a touch of uneasiness, and if one listened carefully, they could hear the fear hidden beneath the coldness.

"Scared now?" Michael’s indifferent voice had a hint of a casual smile, "I warned you before not to go too far. But since she chose to escape alone instead of sharing destruction with you, she probably never thought of doing something as stupid as getting revenge on you!"

If she wanted revenge, why would she hide from him? Shouldn’t she come to his door?

After saying this sentence, Michael realized that the person opposite him was silent as if devoid of breath, speechless for a while.

"Oliver, maybe you should give her some time to calm down and not push her too hard. She might change her mind and come back on her own!"

"Change her mind and come back?" Hearing this, the person on the other end of the line laughed as if he’d heard an amusing joke. "If she changes her mind, she’ll only regret marrying me and giving birth to our son!"

Michael Gordon: "..."

When did this man realize how terrible he was?

"So, are you saying that you absolutely must catch her?" Michael’s eyebrows furrowed deeply. Mr. Thompson’s determination was strong. Could he hide her or not?

"She, Julie Harrison, can only be etched on my, Oliver Thompson’s tombstone even if she’s dead. She’s mine to begin with, so what’s there to catch?" Oliver’s voice was filled with his usual coldness and darkness, "Michael, do you know where she is?"

Although it was a question, the determination in his tone was evident. He knew that Michael was in charge of Andras City; even if he could bump into her, how could Michael not know?

"Indeed, I know where she is, but I can’t tell you now!"

As soon as Michael’s nonchalant voice fell, there was a crisp sound of a cup being knocked over and smashing on the floor. On reflex, Michael held the phone handset further away. The next moment, a familiar roar passed through the phone.

"Michael Gordon, do you believe I can blow Andras City to bits?!"

"Of course, I believe!" Michael seemed confident that he couldn’t do anything about it and laughed lazily. "But if you really blow up Andras City, she might as well kill herself just to let you give up on doing anything stupid, right?"

Sure enough, the moment his words fell, the person on the other end of the line quieted down.

"Oliver, give her some time. After all, she was raised by the Harrison family. Such a huge blow isn’t something she can let go of just by wanting to. She chose to run away instead of sharing destruction with you, proving that you’re still in her heart. If you push her too hard, she’ll only do something extreme!"

"Extreme?" Hearing this, the man on the other end laughed coldly, as if the laughter seeped out from a millennia-old icehouse. "Isn’t that destruction together? If we can’t live happily together, then let’s die together!"

When she was there, he didn’t feel anything. But once she left him, his heart felt hollow as if he had lost everything. The pain of losing everything made him feel miserable!

If that’s the case, perhaps destruction together would be a good solution!

He even thought that as long as he found her, he would give her the chance to kill him and the opportunity to die together. But the prerequisite was that he had to find her first!

"Hah, I never realized until now how capable you are!" Michael said sarcastically. "Fine, you both die. Are you going to make your son join you in the grave? Or leave him to an orphanage? I have a daughter, and I’m not going to raise your son!"

The man on the other end was quiet for a few seconds before laughing lightly: "If anything really happens to us, please raise my son. Your daughter might even take a liking to him!"

Huh?

He’s really speaking with such certainty!

Bianca Aretha was already on Julie Harrison’s side, calling her "mother" for a long time now!

"Michael..." Before Michael could even speak, the voice on the phone came through again, seeming hesitant and pausing a while before continuing, "Is she okay?"

"Yes, she’s fine. As long as you don’t scare her, she’ll be fine. Oliver, give her some time. Don’t push her away from my turf. If she runs away, no one will help you watch your wife!"

Michael’s words were light, but their weight was enough for Oliver Thompson to understand!

That woman didn’t even want to see him, and if he pushed her further, she would flee again. This wasn’t a solution!

"Fine, I’ll give her a month to calm down. After that, I’ll come and take her home. You’ll help me keep an eye on her!"

As he finished speaking, the person on the other end hung up decisively, not even giving him a chance to refuse!

Michael shook his head with a cold smile at the phone. As he moved his gaze to the computer screen, he heard the sound of a dragging suitcase followed by faint footsteps. They were careful movements, and if not for his high sensitivity, they would’ve gone unnoticed.

He didn’t need to think to know what it meant!

As Cathy dragged her luggage and tiptoed to the door, her hand barely touched the door handle when the hall lights suddenly came on. Her already low voice grew even lower, "At this late hour, you can’t even check into a hotel with that fake ID!"

"Mr. Gordon..."

"Go back to sleep, he’s leaving tomorrow, so you don’t have to worry!"

As if knowing what she wanted to say, Michael interrupted her before she could speak, and his gaze fell on her suitcase and added, "Other than here, wherever you go, he’ll catch you and bring you back. So just stay put. Take this time to think carefully about what’s more important: the past grudges or the happiness of the next generation? The past is gone, but the next generation...your son is still young. I don’t need to say anything more, do I?"

After saying that, Michael closed the door and went back to his study, leaving Cathy staring at his retreating figure with her thoughts echoing his words. The grudges of the past? The happiness of the next generation?

Her son?

Wasn’t she doing all this for her son already?

Since she left, it was as if that man couldn’t let go of her.

Is one Harrison family not enough for him to vent his anger on?

Does he really have to torment her for her entire life?

Indeed, she should think about it. Some people won’t stop chasing just because she is running away. Some hatreds won’t disappear just because she doesn’t face them. Since this is the case, what exactly is she afraid of?
