Chapter 956: Chapter 935: About Having Children
Mia Rowen was dumbfounded.
What on earth was he ranting about? On one hand, he was giving her meaningful glances, while on the other, he said such things to his mother, wasn’t that going to give the old lady who was eager for a grandchild ideas?
And just as she had expected, Mrs. Sanders got so excited upon hearing those words that she almost jumped out of her seat, "Son, are you serious? Mia, you two really?"
Just as Mia Rowen was about to speak, Morgan Sanders beat her to it, "Mom, with this kind of thing, what’s true or false? Of course, it’s true. By asking Mia like that, aren’t you pressuring her? Let’s let the child thing happen naturally. We’ve been trying very hard already; we did it twice just this morning!"
Mia Rowen: "..."
"Twice is hardly enough, son, how could you only have twice?" Mrs. Sanders immediately came up with her own view upon hearing her son’s words, "Son, this won’t do. Nowadays, doing it seven times in one night is the trend. You’ve only done it twice this morning, no, no, I’ll make you some kidney tonic soup with my own hands later!"
Mia Rowen: "..."
Seven times in one night?
It’s just a phrase used to describe men’s prowess, how could that be taken seriously? Seven times in one night, that’d kill her!
"Mom, you can insult my kidneys if you wish, but don’t you care about Mia’s ability to take it? With her fragile body, let alone seven times a night, she’s nearly done for after two times in the morning. Do you really have the heart to let me go on?"
Mia Rowen: "..."
Who said she was nearly done for?
"Morgan Sanders, you stop belittling people, looking down on them, who has a fragile body, where do I have a fragile body? You yourself are not..." Mia Rowen hadn’t finished saying "capable" when she realized she had said something she shouldn’t have. She instantly understood—she was still angry with this man!
"See? Blaming Mia when it’s your own inadequacy!" Mrs. Sanders couldn’t help but laugh after hearing Mia’s words, eagerly joining in the teasing. Her attitude towards Mia couldn’t have been better, "So Mia, would you be willing to have a grandson for mom?"
"This..."
She had already said no once, and facing her enthusiastic mother-in-law, she didn’t have the courage to say it again. She wanted to please Mrs. Sanders—after all, since marrying into the Sanders family, Mrs. Sanders had been nothing but kind to her. But then, looking up at Morgan’s earnest eyes watching her, she couldn’t help thinking about the words she’d overheard upstairs, "Even if I long for it, what can it do?"
And also that morning’s words, "Only someone like you deserves someone like me, Bianca is worthy of Roy Thompson."
Clearly, he felt she wasn’t good enough for Bianca, only worthy of her!
Whether the speaker meant it or not, the listener was definitely affected.
It was like a thorn had been stuck in her heart, causing an unbearable pain.
"What? Unwilling?" Mrs. Sanders chuckled and moved next to her, then gently stroked her head and said, "Mia, don’t be nervous. I’m just asking if you’re willing, it’s not to pressure you into having children. After all, you’re still young!"
"Mom, let’s just let nature take its course!"
In the end, Mia Rowen couldn’t withstand Mrs. Sanders’s relentless persuasion and tentatively expressed her willingness.
"Good, good, let nature take its course, as long as you’re not opposed. The rest is all up to Morgan!" Once Mrs. Sanders got Mia’s agreement, she immediately directed her commands at her son, "Son, did you hear that? Mia has agreed. If you can’t have children, it will be your fault!"
Morgan Sanders: "..."
Why was it his fault?
She had agreed to let nature take its course, and now if they couldn’t have children, it was his fault?
"Mom, I also agree to let nature take its course. That means I have no problem either!"
"Of course, it’s your issue! Who else but the man is responsible for these kinds of things? If it isn’t a man’s issue, whose issue could it be?"
Morgan: "..."
He had only heard that whether it’s a boy or a girl was a man’s issue, but he never heard that if it was a boy or a girl was also a man’s issue!
Forget it!
If this conversation kept going, Mia getting her period early would also be his fault, Morgan genuinely suspected that Mia was her daughter, and he was the son-in-law they had picked up off the streets!
"Fine, fine, fine, it’s my issue, my problem," admitted Morgan, finally unable to take it anymore. "Today is the weekend, and neither Mia nor I have to go to work. You finish your breakfast and go back quickly, don’t disturb us trying to make a baby!"
What?
Was she that much of an eyesore?
"Didn’t you guys already give it two tries this morning?"
These were his own words, now Mrs. Sanders was throwing them right back at him.
"Didn’t you say that a man who doesn’t do it seven times a night isn’t a normal man? In order to prove I’m a normal man, without having to drink your kidney-tonifying medicine, I had to make up the remaining seven times!"
Mrs. Sanders: "..."
When did her son become so enlightened!
But on a precious weekend, when the two of them were finally alone at home, she really shouldn’t be there as the third wheel. She could still sense that her son’s attitude towards Mia had indeed improved, especially the way he looked at her, his gaze deepening, as if having a real intention to procreate!
"Alright, alright, I’m leaving right away!"
She even stood up before finishing her meal and headed towards the door, then turned back with a smile to look at them and instructed, "But Morgan, to prove yourself is fine, just don’t overdo it, okay? Mia is a girl!"
She also added, "Tonight I’ll have the chef at home make some Yin-nourishing and Yang-boosting tonic soup for you guys!"
Morgan: "..."
Mia: "..."
Once Mrs. Sanders left, the restaurant immediately became quiet. Mia kept her head down, spooning millet porridge into her mouth, but the man’s eyes never left the top of her head, motionless, focused, and entranced, even without her looking up, she could feel his gaze.
After a while, Mia finally felt uncomfortable under his stare and stood up without finishing her breakfast, "I’m going out for a bit!"
"You haven’t finished your breakfast!"
Perhaps it was because he had been overly insistent that morning, or for some other reason, but Mia’s usually clear face was now devoid of color, pale without a hint of blood. Morgan frowned slightly and then stood up. "If there’s something you need, wait until you’ve finished breakfast and I’ll come with you."
"I need to buy something urgently!"
Mia didn’t pay any attention to what he said and simply stood up from the dining table, likely her legs were wobbly because she almost fell straight to the ground. It was Morgan’s quick reflexes that saved her, catching her in time.
"You sit down and finish your breakfast properly; I’ll go and buy it for you!"
"You wouldn’t know how to buy a woman’s things!"
Mia almost didn’t think before she retorted!
