Chapter 392: Why do you like me?

The four new recipients of the cuckoo curse woke up half an hour ago and to their horror, they were immediately besieged by monsters.

The foot of mountain was immediately filled with screams and smell of blood from the wounds they incurred.

"There’s too many of them. Our stamina is almost gone." Boran and Fengqi anxiously said, knowing that when it hit to 0, they would be become immobile and incapable of fighting and running.

Xicheng and Nuo’er only had a quarter of stamina as well but they are still halfway towards the abandoned territory camp.

Suddenly, Nuo’er saw monster rushing at Xicheng’s right and used her remaining mana to cast a fire spell.

The blue monkey screamed as it hit by the flames, saving Xicheng who was preoccupied with dealing the monsters in the front.

"Cousin, are you okay?" Nuo’er quickly asked in concern despite her dizzy state.

Xicheng finished the monsters before nodding albeit his heart was still beating past. Suddenly he saw three shadows behind Nuo’er and his hands moved.

The girl’s widened in shock looking at the man she defended a few seconds ago pushed her towards a group of monsters and run off, leaving her completely.

"Cousin..." She called in disbelief but the man never even look back.

The monkeys’ teeth sunk in the girl’s neck, shoulder and arm but Nuo’er didn’t feel any pain from these, too stunned to process what had happened.

Boran and Fengqi was at front and wasn’t able to see the chilling scene. It was only when they sensed no monsters that was chasing them, only did they turned around and were startled when Nuor’er was gone.

"Where’s Nuo’er?" Boran asked.

Xicheng lowered his head, panting. "There are too many monsters and we got separated. Let’s find a safe place first."

Separated?

Fengqi and Boran looked at each other.

Because it was dark, the two couldn’t see Xicheng’s shaking form. They wanted to go back and find Nuo’er but because it was dangerous, they dismissed the thought, and only followed Xicheng.

The three run using their fastest speed and went back to the Temporary Camp.

Remembering what happened; the three didn’t have a good face and swore they will find Li Chunhua and avenged this.

’The number ’Zero’ was something special to Haoran. It reminds him of his past and thus he decided to use it as his codename.’

If she wasn’t wrong, that was the exact passage she read in the book.

"A’Ran, why did you choose Dumpling Duke?" Chunhua asked.

Her sudden interest in his childhood elevated the man’s mood.

"Dumplings were the first food I cooked and Duke was what my brother used to call me before." Because his brother said, his disposition was similar to those little dukes in the dramas Zurui used to watch.

Haoran explained, attentively observing the expressions she was making, that already developed as a habit.

That was so different from what she expected. Chunhua blinked before carefully asking, "Is there anything particular that comes to your mind regarding the number ’Zero’?"

"Zero..." Haoran raised his brows, went quiet for second, before uttering, "Nothing." None that is worth noting, it was just a number to him.

Is it because she changed the plot from earlier on that even Haoran’s codename also changed?

There is a possibility...

Regardless of it, Dumpling Duke was a lot better than dull-sounding codename Zero. Chunhua approved.

As she had promised before, she would no longer be obsessed with story and focused of what is in front of her.

"Now, you can send me message in case if you’ve encountered some trouble." Chunhua also cast a tracking spell on him just in case.

Haoran narrowed his eyes as he noticed a thin golden strand left Chunhua’s fingertips and entered the area between his brows. Was it just his misconception?

"Check your inbox and accept my friend request." Chunhua said across the table.

Any man would be happy after hearing these words from the girls they liked.

Haoran wasted no second and opened his Chat interface only to stop.

"..."

"What’s wrong?"

Haoran showed his interface. "This might take a while."

[99999+ message]

"I never knew you’re so famous." Chunhua went behind Haoran and saw the staggering amount of inbox.

Haoran furrowed his brows when he accidentally opened one.

[Beef Noodle]: Big Brother, I can do laundry, wash dishes, and sew socks. I’m opened to any relationships; do you want to be close buddies?

[Beef Noodle]: If you’re too shy Big Brother, just send a smiley.

[Beef Noodle]; Big Brother....Big Brother....If you just give me a chance; I will prove myself worthy of you. *Heart-shaped emoji*

Chunhua felt a bulb lit above her head: "..." I think I read something I shouldn’t have read.

Chunhua wanted to return to her seat realizing her she was prying into someone’s private life but a hand grabbed her wrist in a gentle manner.

"It’s not what you think." Haoran explained, deleting all messages and friend request and blacklisting a certain unlucky Beef Noodle before saying, "You’re the only one I liked. I deleted it all. Send me another one."

Chunhua’s whole face was tinted with red. The words he said before replayed in her mind. She mustered her courage and asked carefully, "Ah about that, what part of me did you like?"

Because she can’t understand, Haoran is so perfect yet she was full of flaws and eats a lot too!

Isn’t he afraid of regretting what he said?

Haoran chuckled, let go of her hand and rested his chin on his left palm, "Do I need a reason to like you?"

Chunhua couldn’t answer that one because it was the first time someone liked her and she had no experienced regarding this matter.

Haoran knew her concern. He felt that he was rather fast with his decision but he did not regret it, "Regarding what I said before, you don’t need to answer right away. The reason why I said that was because I just wanted you to stop seeing me as a man who wanted to stay friends with you but rather a man who wanted to be with you."
