Chapter 391: The Warmest Meal

Having to seen even grown men getting emotional, crying and hugging each other, Chunhua was lost for words.

Was that big of a deal?

No one was fool enough to reject the invitation! Everyone pressed on ’yes’.

"We’re finally saved! Saved!"

"I’m a dreaming? I can’t believe that I’ll able to meet Baozi before I die! My Ancestors didn’t abandon me!"

"Mom! Those players in the global chat will be dying from envy from this! I can’t wait to tell them!"

If Cui’s words didn’t have much persuasive value to them, the system’s invitation prompt erased all doubts and made them believers. After all, no one was able to influence it...

"But isn’t Baozi supposed to be a man?"

This question brought a wave a silence and all looked at Chunhua. All of them speculated that Baozi was a man who possessed a bulky physique, with strong arms littered with lumps of muscles and had facial hairs.

But none of them seem to hit the mark. They totally missed the points, never expecting Baozi was just a frail-looking young lady with slim build and soft baby face.

"Who cares? As long as I can eat enough and be safe!" Girl or not, it’s all about strength!

No one knew who said that but they all agreed. Now, all that’s left was...

The new residents’ eyes were shining looking at Chunhua.

Xiang’er couldn’t help but also reminisced the time she first met Baozi. She was also totally shocked.

"If you aren’t quick, dinner would be gone." Chunhua stared the new probationary residents that were looking like hungry wolves as if she was piece of juicy meat. The same look Xiang’er gave her back then. Chunhua stepped back instinctively.

The Salted Fishes had already sneaked away. As expected of the cunning and smart fishes.

The familiar smoky scent of grilled meat being grilled wafted under Chunhua’s sharp nose.

"Brother Siri, take care of them!" Chunhua placed the luminescent pearl on the Elf’s hand before speeding off.

My skewers, I’m coming!

The new residents who wanted to get autographs and take a picture could only looked at Chunhua disappearing from the spot.

"..."

Siri warned with a stern expression, "I would appreciate if you refrain from revealing information about my Master and the territory otherwise you would only endanger both."

Everyone realized that of theirs foolish thoughts earlier and apologized, promising the Elf that they wouldn’t do it.

Siri was only silent before leading them inside.

As they started getting near the entrance, they saw more of the territory’s facilities and their respect for Baozi increased.

They knew Baozi was very rich and she was already ahead of every player but they hadn’t anticipated the difference was to this degree.

Towering walls, the numerous intimidating siege weapons stationed on the walls, some which they hadn’t seen nor heard before, the magic arrow towers that requires expensive materials to build and only sold in the Earth Shop, the deep trench surrounding the territory....

The enemies would have no chance to invade this.

The surprise didn’t end there. The inside of the territory were very much astounding as the outside.

Since the players didn’t need appraisal skill to know what the facilities were, they could see the floating prompts above.

[Basic Residence Level 2]

[Basic Tailoring Workshop]

[Basic Blacksmith Workshop]

[Training Field]

[Main Residence]

[Intermediate Farm]

[Basic Warehouse (Tendra Civilization)]

[Basic Farm]

[...]

For a level 2 Territory...There so many facilities...Everyone thought.

"The canteen is that one beside the two-story residence at the end." Siri pointed before handing Remi the reigns.

"After the meal, show them to residence later."

Remi nodded. "Yes Territory Manager."

Nian Zhen remembered his territory and felt it was a shack compared to this.

It’s just that...

The designs were a bit colorful...

But no one question the design choices...

The girls on the other hands very much like it.

----

[In the Canteen]

The Canteen was built yesterday on the request of Siri.

It adapted a medieval tavern design, with a kitchen at the back and a serving area at the front. In the large open space were tables and chairs able to accommodate at least a hundred individuals.

But still, with the arrival of the refugees to the canteen, the place was immediately jam-packed and those who were the last ones couldn’t find a vacant seat, had to wait at the side.

A long line was soon formed, with Salted Fishes in the lead. Auntie He and the others were overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of new residents flocking towards the reception area.

Remi and the others went to help serving the meals.

At first, the new residents thought those crazy people were joking about the copper coins but they were proven wrong!

[Pickled Vegetable and Pork Mince Dumplings- 25 copper coins/ 3 pieces]

[Deep Fried and Steam Fish- 15 copper coins/ bowl]

[Spicy Vermicelli Noodle Soup with Pork Slices- 35 copper coins/ bowl]

[Braised Pork- 35 copper coins/ bowl]

[Corn Flour Mantou- 4 copper coins/pieces]

[Fish Sea Bass Soup- 20 copper coins/ bowl]

[Rice – 10 copper coins/ serving]

Since the vegetables in the farm had yet to mature, the menu was limited. But still, watching the big board stating the prices of the food, the tears in their eyes that had yet to dry, spilled again.

They were already happy with just soup but these were beyond their expectation.

The first one to order was Nian Zhen and it took him a few seconds to react.

"Mister, is everything alright. Have you made up your mind?" Cassia gently smiled which caused Nian Zhen to lower his head in embarrassment.

"Can we really use copper coins to pay?" Nian Zhen scratched his head.

"You can also use resident points." Cassia answered. "1 resident point is equivalent to 3 copper coins."

Nian Zhen was not ignorant to resident points. "How do we earn resident points?"

Remi explained, "By completing missions. The Territory Manager will make a list of missions and everything will be rewarded with points."

Nian Zhen thought of his previous residents. Some of their levels were very low and wasn’t very good at fighting. This provides them an alternative way to earn. "Where can we see the missions?"

"In front of the warehouse, there’s a bulletin board. But I need to remind you that some missions and jobs require skill sets and have limited spots. First come, first serve." Remi said.

Nian Zhen was quick to catch on what Remi was implying. After he bought one serving of each meal from the copper coins pooled. He stored the meal in his inventory before bringing them to his table and dividing the meal amongst themselves.

The other group behind Nian Zhen including Junjie and the ex-robbers had also eavesdropped on the conversation and formed plans in their head.

"It’s really slices of meat and not merely pork floss!"

"The dumpling is soft and the fillings inside is well-seasoned."

"Ah! This should be what a soup taste like!"

They hadn’t had proper meal in a week and it got devoured with just a few minutes.

The refugees’ hands were trembling when receiving the plates and bowl full of warm food.

"Auntie, can I have two servings of Spicy Noodles?" Junjie asked after licking his lips. The smell coming from the pots were very torturing. His stomach was rumbling in protest.

"I’m sorry, Dear. To make sure everyone will be able to eat, the territory manager said to limit each one to one serving." Auntie Su replied.

"That’s okay Auntie. I’ll just have spicy noodle, rice and dumplings." Junjie was still satisfied because the portions given were very generous, even if he were to compare to the previous world. Just the three fist-sized dumplings alone would make him full.

"Sister, be careful." Auntie Su quickly grabbed the unsteady bowls in Auntie Hui’s shaking hands to prevent them from spilling.

"Thank you so much." Auntie Hui was relieved before stepping out of the line, "Wenyi, I’ll go first."

It looks delicious. Wenyi gulped.

"Auntie He, when did the territory get their hands on fishes?" Bai Susu looked at the golden crispy skin deep fried sea bass and swallowed her saliva.

"It was Cui who sent them." Auntie He replied.

Cui laughed, "We were so lucky that we followed Territory Manager in searching for the land owner and not only had we got to eat sea bass, urchin, groupers, and milk fish that the Landowner gave. We also had tuna and lobster. It was so good, right Brother Jun and Uncle Meng Chu?"

Jun and Meng Chu nodded.

The faces of the girls twisted in envy. The next time, they will not miss the opportunity for sure!

There was rare peaceful and joyous atmosphere circulating inside the canteen as the new residents’ hopes were reignited from a simple meal.

For the first time since the global game, their stomachs were full.

In the Main Residence, the main characters had also finished eating their meals including Little Zhou and Nikolai.

Without wasting another day, Little Zhou played with the little cuties to get to know before classes tomorrow.

These four littles initially complained but upon realizing that they would be able to communicate with their Mother regarding what food they liked, they became eager to learn and asked some school supplies from Chunhua.

"A’Ran, I haven’t added you as a friend. Your global chat name is Zero right?" Chunhua opened the interface to search for it. With this, she can send him items and messages in case he disappears again.

"No, it’s Dumpling Duke." Haoran answered, quite curious why Chunhua mentioned ’Zero.’

Huh?

Chunhua was confused. Shouldn’t it be Zero?
