Chapter 315: You look beautiful

If Long Haoran had venture inside the Desolate Labyrinth instead of retreating early, he would have known that the interiors of the Labyrinth was uncanny similar to the place where they woke up and were chased by the numerous golems with the exception of lava veins and hot temperature.

There were walls and even green vines growing around and one could even hear the sound of waterfalls which is inconceivable, since the plants stopped growing ten years ago!

At opposite end of the labyrinth, a scorched corpse could be seen lying beside a brick well and under the corpse was a journal, a pouch, and a piece of paper with half of it burn.

A pair of leather boots kicked the corpse letting it rolled over, and revealing its face, half of it was saved from being burned. If one was to look closely, it was Dranax!

The corpse was of Dranax, which was supposed to be killed by Chunhua.

The culprit of Dranax’s true death first picked up the burned paper. Under the torches hang on the walls near the well, the culprit had the same build as Dranax and his age doesn’t seem to be far off based on his white hair and wrinkled skin.

It was undeniably another Halfling wearing the same robe or even a more superior quality robe than Dranax and on his hand was a staff with the embedded red crystal on top exuding intense thermal energy.

The Halfling narrowed his eyes.

He tossed the burned paper aside and picked up the Journal and Pouch. The Halfling skimmed his eyes on the handwritten notes on the journal and stopped at the 22nd page, his main aim.

He stood there reading the notes, making various expressions before snickering. "In ten years, he hadn’t been able to complete it? If I was not recuperating, I would have done it myself."

The restriction on the pouch was lifted and the Halfling saw another Talisman paper, city maps, bloomoon ores, energy crystals, blueprints, and some personal things, gears, incomplete parts of golems and some gold bars.

The Halfling quickly used the teleportation talisman which was mark in the city and his figure disappeared and reappeared in the destroyed Halfling City, just in front of the Palace.

Sensing the presence of several halflings nearby, he cast an A-level Stealth Skill before going inside, following the routes provided by the map until he saw the Underground research facility and stuffing the golem inside his personal space.

Per Chunhua’s urgent request, Ron was brought into another area below the decks where no one would disturb him, researching the specific purpose of the beating core.

Since the enmity between the Halfling and Nymphs was not yet resolve, two nymphs from Shivani’s clan were assigned to guard the entrance in case someone makes a move.

Aqua, the other Halfling kids, and the three gluttons played with the Clammy and the latter became a temporary nanny and slowly cruised around the ice ship bringing its small passengers.

Rita and were overlooking from the decks.

"Don’t jump into the sea and stay away from the edges. I’m not responsible for fishing you out." The Clammy announced leapfrogging in a turtle pace.

The Halfling nymphs nodded and were very excited at seeing the sea for the first time. Being kept inside the room, they never been in the outside world so the speed was just enough for them to rate the ride 5 stars.

But the other three passengers were very used to their Master’s death-defying stunts that can make someone faint and vomit and so this ride bored them a lot.

"Hey can you be a little faster." Little Mantou complained.

"Kya!" (Is the clam a grandpa already? Why he is so slow? Big Brother’s doggy paddle is better than this.)

"Ji ji ji." Little Ginseng choked. (You! Anyways, I’ll let this slip one time, next time, my doggy paddle paws will smashed you.)

Little Lotus quickly hid behind Mantou. It forgot that the two-leave radish can become a very big guy.

The Clam hearing the noises in the background, instinctively felt he was the topic of their discussion and intervened, "Hey, hey, don’t talk in those cryptic language. I can hear you."

The three saw something wrong with the Clam’s mouth and Little Mantou asked, "What happened to your teeth?"

The Clam recalled the bad memory. Its muscles turned pinker and snubbed them. "It’s none of your business."

"Kya." (I told you he was a grandpa.) Little Lotus whispered to the two.

Therefore, the three became very understanding of the elderly and didn’t complain anymore, sitting like obedient students.

Chunhua’s inventory was already full. The ones she got from destroying the golems were still piled up the upper decks and being slowly cleaned up and now with the additional loot, she need some time to sort and free some space.

Her desire to make the space-attribute gears soon soared. If she managed find the cave full of spirit stones, maybe she’ll have the chance to advance.

This Dranax seemed to be poor because the spirit stones given to her was very little.

The only problem was the Tribulation lightning. Those guys are never friendly and will decimate everything on their path.

The bangle became excited: Ohh, Master my heart is ready to receive it.

But the bangle is bound to be disappointed because the gear was reserved for the Little Lotus.

"Let’s give this to him, so his damage will go up."

The bangle snickered: That guy’s attacks are pitiful. Not much would change if he equipped it. The gear would be wasted.

"Don’t talk around like that. At least he’s working on improving it. We need to give the kids some encouragement. Anyway, you already ate a lot. Won’t you have indigestion?" Chunhua reproached it.

The bangle harrumphed in her mind: You’re underestimating me. Unless the gear’s owner is still alive and refine the gear with their own blood, I won’t be able to digest it without you incurring the penalties. The higher the grade the higher the penalty. But it shouldn’t be a problem to you since you didn’t suffer any when I ate those golden-hair shortie’s axes.

Li Chunhua: What do you mean by penalties?

She knows about gear refinement because she had read it in the novel and was closely similar to how cultivators refine their dharma artifacts.

Refining is making the weapon is exclusively yours. It was similar to contracting a familiar. Refine gear have the chance to gain sentient and the bond between the gear and the owner allows either side to sense each other.

But the penalties were something she wasn’t aware.

The bangle: Penalties is simply 101 ways of dying.

Li Chunhua was stunned. Recalling the bangle’s gluttonous behavior and high-standards, she immediately reminded it not just snatch someone’s weapon again.

Chunhua checked her inventory and also saw the pages of the research journal were also almost done and only one is missing, the 22nd page.

If Dranax is dead and being the owner of journal, shouldn’t it be completed already?

Could it be that his golems aren’t entirely wiped out?

Looks like after killing the third seafood, she had to make a second trip.

When Chunhua was about to enter the captain’s room reserved for her, her path was blocked. In her line of sight, she saw the familiar azure robe and slowly looked up.

She saw Chef Long staring intensely at her, with the expression in his eyes darker that usual.

He stood there looking at her and in the span of a few seconds, various emotions flashed in his eyes which Chunhua couldn’t describe exactly.

Before she could ask if he was bothered by something, to her surprise, the man placed both of his palms on her shoulder, slightly squeezing them and said. "Let’s get out of this world."

One with a sharp sense of hearing could detect the little trembling in his voice brought about by the flurry of negative emotions.

Li Chunhua opened her mouth but for some reason, she couldn’t utter the question because of heaviness of Chef Long’s stare.

So instead, she answered, "Alright", and upon getting a positive answer, Long Haoran retrieved his palms.

The gloomy aura surrounding him lessened and when Li Chunhua thought the strangeness didn’t get worse, Chef Long said out of the blue, "You looked beautiful."

Chunhua’s heart skipped a beat but not because of the compliment but because of Chef Long’s pair of eyes directly looking at her.

Inside the pool area, the nymphs were scattered around and applying what they have learned from Shana’s demonstration, one of the nymphs sneaked out without anyone noticing and jumped onto the sea.
