Chapter 311: Clammy’s Complaints

Clammy had just arrived but found out that the city was destroyed and his Boss left him! "Am I being abandoned?" Clammy wanted to cry.

---

"Pardon, but do you know another nymph named Shillo, a water priestess too?" Haoran asked.

Shillo retrieved her hand, baffled by the question of Sister Baozi’s friend. But to give the Champion some face, she still answered, "As far as I know no one in my clan had the same name as mine and there’s only one priestess per generation. But I can’t say so for the others."

Shillo gave Thalassa’s and the other nymphs who were in the middle of talk with her Sister Shivani a quick scrutinizing glance.

A day before she was still unaware that beside them, there are still other clans out in the sea.

Driven by this discovery and the brooding situation of the upcoming fire storm, Sister Shivani might choose to absorb the other clans.

Shillo did hit the mark with her casual guess as Shivani and Shana was gathering information about the whereabouts of the other clans, the only difference was that, it wasn’t going well.

"I may have to be the bearer of bad news but we are the last survivors. The clan was wiped out ten years ago. Those who resisted were killed. We were originally around hundreds but after..." Thalassa wore a grievous look infecting the other nymphs and couldn’t continue her story.

"I’m sorry for your loss." Shivani placed her hand over her chest and saluted.

Thalassa returned the gesture.

Shivani turned to the other nymphs and each one delivered more bad news.

"We hail from an island 10 miles south east of the Halfling city. Most of the clan members were killed by fire storm and we were the only ones left, captured by a ship after one disembarked on our island." A member of the group of nymphs Haoran rescued spoke for their part.

The arena nymphs only shook their heads, "No survivors."

There was no need to mention those that were found in the dungeons. Their eyes full of hatred were giving Ron’s group piercing glares. If they weren’t weakened by the overtime abuse, the decks would probably in chaos.

Ron’s group standing near the farm fields with the nymphs halflings could sense the stares but were very understanding and silently endured without confronting it.

Shivani and Shana immediately steered the topic elsewhere to lift the mood of the nymphs a little bit.

"The accommodations are below. Four-five nymphs may have to squeeze in a room for now but tomorrow we’ll add more rooms and maybe expand the ships or hulls."

"The storeroom had furniture like beds, chairs, and tables. You can ask Shawarna about it." Shivani pointed towards a certain nymph who was listing the names of the nymphs.

"There is refined pure water in the pool below. Those who wished to recover their mana and perfomed deep healing can follow Shana to it."

At the mentioned of refined pure water, the nymphs that includes Thalassa and the ones extremely dissatisfied with Ron’s group were attracted. "What do you mean by refined pure water?"

"Follow me." Shivani and Shana didn’t answer and rather decided to show them.

A few minutes later, "Here we are." Shana led the nymphs to the pool but not before asking Shivani to bring a tub of sea water to the pool.

"How-just how?"

"Have you found some surviving pure water sources out there?"

"Is this safe? It’s not diluted some fire energy isn’t it?"

Lots of questions were thrown in Shana’s way and the nymphs circled around Shana. "Be quiet for a sec."

Shana crouched beside the metal tub they got from dismantling the ship. "There are no safe water sources nearby. We extracted this on our own."

"Don’t jest. How can you extract such an absurd amount of water-"

The nymphs were astonished at what their seeing. Pure water droplets from the tubs full of red water slowly gathered into a water ball on Shana’s hand. "This is the results of refining, separating the water energy and condensing it in a separate medium."

Thalassa stepped forward. Her heart trembled, beating in loud thumps. "Teach me." In a voice mixed with excitement and a little bit of something else, she asked Shana.

Under Thalassa’s lead, the other nymphs clamored towards Shana too, becoming eager student.

---

"That’s very odd because unless I reached adulthood and my Sister passes her position or dies, I will not be a water priestess." Shillo explained. "Furthermore, only one Champion can be summoned at a time."

Long Haoran didn’t sense any hint of deception from the teen nymph in front of him. He saw the screens of the other nymphs and none of them besides one was a priestess which Xiao Hua and this Shillo no. 2 called Shivani.

"Shillo." Shivani called prompting Shillo to walk away.

"Why did you ask that Chef Long? Did the system issue another task? An investigative task?" Li Chunhua had been detecting Chef Long’s deepening frown and was curious. He was very quiet on usual times but strangely this time, he spoke more than a sentence.

"No." Long Haoran shook his head and told Chunhua about how they came to this world or was even the same world, about the labyrinth, the golems, the wrecked ship, a doppelganger Shillo, and the wrecked ship.

"Why are our starting points very different? Also, I haven’t heard about the labyrinth even from the mouth of Uncle Ron but meeting golems is common occurrence here. But I really want to meet the one behind the ship, maybe we have a common interest? As for the Priestess Shillo, maybe you met a different Shillo." After all, she couldn’t ensure that in the entire world, she was the only one with a Little Baozi nick name or even Chunhua.

Long Haoran also hoped that what Xiao Hua said was true and he was just overthinking. Speaking about it, he wanted to know about her situation. "What about you? Are they very kind? Did they make things difficult for you? Force you to do something that you don’t want?"

Chunhua sighed upon hearing it. "You don’t have to worry about the last part. Even you don’t say it, I will not allow anyone to bully me."

Li Chunhua added. "Well at first. I was really mad but eventually after coming into contact with them, my anger turned to pity. I keep seeing past self on them especially Shillo. Before she wasn’t looking that, her hair was white, and had a thin build as if a wind can blow her, and she said she was going to die and everyone in their clan was to if they didn’t find water."

Chunhua sighed again.

Long Haoran didn’t pay attention to rest of her words and only stopped on a certain part-her past self. He remembered her talk with the Elf in the kitchen and his gaze unconsciously softened.

Chunhua also shared her experience from the time she was summon to the times she build the ship, the system task of a sustainable community and only stopped when a particular embarrassing memory came to her mind.

Wait, Chef Long must never know about that. It was very embarrassing. Li Chunhua felt jumping into the yellow river to cleanse herself of the memory.

It was a good thing that Chef Long seem to be occupied by something.
