Chapter 310: Long Haoran’s Confusion
Chapter 310: Long Haoran’s Confusion
The fire burned slowly but enough to leave cracks on the surface of their cores and Long Haoran could see faint red and orange wisps leaking from the cracks.
Dividing the main abysmal fire into several small fire while controlling them at the same time from the distance was something he only did the first time and he found that it was mana efficient but not mental efficient.
But he found a very interesting discovery- his abysmal fire was reacting to the wisps and even devouring them giving him proficiency points and lessening the headache he was feeling.

Long Haoran was able to endure a prolong battle mid-air.
Little Mantou was also not idle and used his paws equipped with the Claw weapon to protect the nymphs and the sulking Little Ginseng.
Little Ginseng crossed his arms sulking at the Dragon’s mental remark. ’Don’t you dare transform or you’ll drag me to the waters with your giant body.’
"Ji ji ji." (I wished I had an attack spell too!) Little Ginseng could throw the stone handed by Chef Long to also received a bit of experience points.
In the end the experience points were divided in between the four and they skipped several levels and those that were lucky enough to deal the last strikes gained skills, except for Mantou and Long Haoran.
Without the golem guards, the Dragon landed and Long Haoran quickly picked up the loots especially the copper coins which Xiao Hua needed.
Whist doing so, he also keep an eye in the surroundings and noticed a semicircular entrance of the cave, larger than the one in Xiao Hua’s territory.
[Entrance to the Desolate Labyrinth]
Long Haoran wanted to go in but when a nymph came running and informing him of the tidal waves engulfing the island of the Main Halfling City, he quickly asked Lotus to fly back.
But upon arriving, the waves were gone and Long Haoran saw someone picking up loots. He quickly jumped off the shore.
Both Halflings and the nymphs were attracted to the Dragon and couldn’t but give Little Lotus some mixed gazes.
"Chef Long, did you get hurt?" Li Chunhua circled around Long Haoran and examined his body of any injuries. Thankfully, there are none.
"I’m fine." Long Haoran’s eyes unconsciously drifted on Li Chunhua’s body and when he spotted none, he withdrew them and looked warily at the ship, which bore striking familiarity with the wreck one he saw before. Even the siege weapons attached on the edge were also similar.
Little Lotus transformed back and the three upon cutting off the ropes rushed towards Li Chunhua.
"Kya!" (Mama, mama, I’m so hungry, please make the handsome brother cook. I want lots of meat!) Little Lotus tugged Li Chunhua’s skirt and pointed at Chef Long before rubbing his flat belly.
"Ji ji ji." (Master, master, it’s good to see you again.) With their Master with around, no one will bully them anymore just like those awful short people. Little Ginseng climbed on her and pasted his face on her cheeks.
"Master, I’m exhausted. When are we going to go home?" Little Mantou wagged his tail and pouted. This place had so few places to play!
Li Chunhua also checked them and was when they didn’t sustain any.
The nymphs that had ridden on the Karmic Dragon’s back untied the ropes and walked forward.
A warm series of thanks were given to Long Haoran’s group before they greeted the nymphs on the ship.
Shana was eyeing them for a while now and her suspicious of that guess that there were still other tribes of nymphs living around grew.
Meanwhile Long Haoran checked the progress of his side quest.

The information on the screen only means that there were still slaves trapped inside and sure enough he found them under the arena.
Li Chunhua had followed along while picking up the loots along the way.
The emancipated and thin nymphs retreated to their prison after they saw the newcomers.
Li Chunhua and Long Haoran quickly destroyed the metal bars.
"You are free to go. Your clan is waiting for you outside."
The 129 nymphs in separate cells propped themselves against the wall, blinking and when they sensed no threat they all dashed outside quickly.
Long Haoran gazed at his screen.

The five began searching again and thanks to Li Chunhua’s digging ability. They found the rest under the destroyed wealthy compound, twenty feet below in a man-made dungeon. They were unconscious with lots of whip marks on their skin.
Long Haoran and Li Chunhua gave them water to replenish their strength before Little Ginseng and Li Chunhua treat their wounds.
These nymphs did recover but the problem was their mental state. When they saw Long Haoran and the three gluttons they attacked them, and only stopped when they felt the familiar bond with Li Chunhua because of the Oceanid’s Blood that integrated with her.
After Chef Long’s mission became 100%, the rescued nymphs were brought outside and when Shivani and her clan saw the condition of this group, the temporary ceasefire almost broke.
Shivani had the clan members take them in to the rooms in decks below before saying to Li Chunhua, "Champion, bestowing mercy and not engaging in a fight is the most we could tolerate but we will not accept these Halflings in the ship except for the few ones that had been truly kind to our people."
"I know. You can reassure that I won’t force you with anything." Li Chunhua was well aware of it and if the same thing ever happened to her, she would also do the same.
The Halflings who wishes to ride revealed disappointed faces.
With the destroyed Halfling City, the disappearance of the barrier and the food crisis, they didn’t know what to do.
But the shadow of the ships coming back brought them hope.
Li Chunhua was also waiting for the system’s mission but the latter didn’t issue her any at all. She heard that there were still the nearby islands and so her worries was lessened.
Shivani and the crew didn’t stay any longer after Li Chunhua and Long Haoran climbed on board, the ice ship sailed to the sky leaving the Halflings in awe once more.
"Did you remember the sail from the ancestors’ tales that King Limnad made?"
"Yeah."
"I think that was the one."
A few nymphs gathered at raised their chins and gazed at the gallant blue ship.
The sailor halflings unboarded the ships and when they saw the destroyed fort they were astounded.
"What happened?"
One of the halflings replied, "Don’t ask and quickly set forth to Island no. 2. Anyway, why did all of you sail without informing the masses?"
The sailors replied in unison, "His Majesty Dranax ordered us to."
---
In the ship, Long Haoran couldn’t dispel his doubt the more his eyes registered the design.
"Sister Baozi, who is this?" Since the others were busy welcoming the new nymphs, Shillo slipped and went to Li Chunhua’s side.
"Oh right, this is Chef Long, he cooks really delicious food." Li Chunhua introduced Long Haoran.
"Chef Long, my name is Shillo." Shillo extended her hand to greet Long Haoran but the latter didn’t take it and stared deeply at Shillo instead.
Shillo? Isn’t that the name of the water priestess? The one that sent him here?
