Chapter 302: Fish Crisis

Long Haoran counted the guard Halflings above and checked their positions, their stats, and the part where the security was the most lax.

10 roaming with guns, 5 without, and an announcer, all above Level 50 and with average individual stats of 400-550...

Long Haoran looked for a secluded corner and quickly opened the picture book, producing all kinds of stat-boosting dishes and stuffing them inside his mouth. He chewed it fast, and his stats shot crazily.

Hundreds of notifications rang in his ears, and he only stopped when he couldn’t eat anymore.

He felt very strange, as if his body were bloated like a balloon stretching to its limit. Haoran pressed his palms against the wall and shook his head to disperse the urge to sleep.

Well, that is expected since Long Haoran’s digestive ability was not like Li Chunhua, and the proportionate leap of power he could take had a limit unless he underwent body reformation.

It seemed like it was not good to consume too much buff food. Long Haoran endured, breathing in and out to recondition himself.

The noises coming from the crowd, which was extremely excited for the day’s special show, were so loud to the point that they could make one’s ears ring and hurt. This made the three unconscious gluttons wake up.

"Ji ji ji."

"Kya?"

"My head is hurting. Where are we?"

When they saw the unfamiliar surroundings—the chains and the little people around—they rose from their feet and tried to break free from the chains.

The halflings sneered and tugged them closer with the nymphs in tow.

The baby bluefin tuna sensed the presence of the food above and opened its mouth.

"Let’s see how long our new challengers can hold on! Place your bet! In 3, 2..."

Suddenly, the halflings seated near the entrance saw a large circular thing smashed against the walls of the tank.

The sound of the glass breaking echoed in the arena before it was flooded, freeing the blue-fin tuna.

There was a series of screams as the halflings cheering for the trio’s deaths before got a taste of being the meal.

"Kya!" (It’s Handsome Brother!) The three of them quickly headbutted the chins of the halflings beside them.

"Argh!"

----

"None." Ron shook his head. "The Halfling King died a few days after sustaining fatal injuries while King Nephim disappeared. Some say she turned into bubbles; others say she also perished or is just taking her time to regain her strength and take revenge."

"What about the trident, Uncle? Where is it?" Li Chunhua asked again since the nymphs needed it.

"Oh, that’s below." Ron pointed to the ground, making Li Chunhua look down. "No one can pull it from the ocean floor." Not even Dranax.

So it was not on the throne? Or is the throne below here? Li Chunhua scratched her head. In this case, she should really make a trip as soon as possible.

Seeing the stalls full of crucian carp, Ron stopped in front of one of them. "Give me four of them."

"Oh, it’s you, Ron. You just came in at the right time. This batch is the last one for the day. Someone made a big order a few minutes ago just now." The auntie managing the stall greeted Ron with a smile. She wrapped the four carp inside dried fish leather before handing it to Ron.

The last batch?

Ron frowned and took the fish parcel before handing over 20 pieces of basic energy crystals.

The aunt counted them. "Wait, Ron, I forgot to tell you my suppliers just raised the prices of the fish this morning."

Ron was used to the inflation and asked, "How much?"

"You need to pay 80 more." The auntie displayed a helpless expression. Even though the prices were high, her marginal profit was very small.

Ron’s hand in the pocket of his inner vest paused upon hearing the new prices. He fished the pouch and poured in the remaining contents.

"21, 43, 54...you still lack 26." The aunt gathered the crystals in her hands.

Ron didn’t have any more money in him.

"I’ll pay for him." Li Chunhua took out the due amount, making Ron utter thanks. It would be hypocritical of him to decline because he badly needed the fish to feed the little nymphs.

The auntie smiled and said, "Who’s this girl, Ron? Is this your relative?"

"Yes, from the middle-class district, she just came to visit me." He lied, covering for Li Chunhua.

"Such a pretty kid." The auntie wanted to extend the talk when a group of buyers surrounded her stalls, pushing Li Chunhua and Ron aside.

This group was buying the fish in bulk, and even when they heard the ridiculous prices, they were still fighting to buy it.

Not long after, every stall selling fish, dried fish, and shellfish on both sides of the streets was flocked with buyers behaving aggressively. It was almost as if the shops were offering free buffets. Li Chunhua thought.

Li Chunhua and Ron looked at each other, wondering what was going on.

It wasn’t until they returned to the apartment that they finally knew the reason.

All the fish fry and fish ready for harvest cultivated in the ponds had strangely died, which meant there would be a food crisis.

The faces of Ron, Rita, and the others fell.

Li Chunhua couldn’t help but think of her mission. Will the other high-quality seafood be affected as well?

She quickly exited the apartment and headed for the arena to meet with Chef Long.

But midway, someone bumped into her. It was the long-haired sister.

Nikolai recognized the halfling in front of him and dragged her away. "I’ve been looking all over for you. You caused a lot of trouble." The guys and the bar that were turned pauper by this player were chasing him, thinking he was an accomplice.

"I’m in a hurry. We can talk another time." Li Chunhua easily yanked her hand out of his grasp.

"Brothers, there they are!"

Nikolai and Li Chunhua saw ten halflings carrying guns and cannons on the end of the street, glaring at their forms.

Nikolai snickered before turning around, only to see another group.

The halflings on the streets screamed and ran away, leaving the two.

Nikolai’s eyes shifted back and forth. He regretted inspecting that dried river!

"Don’t move and drop on your knees!" The pauper hoodlums shouted.

Just after the halflings were about to pull and press the triggers, a deep, resounding roar spread in all parts of the city, and they all looked to the sky.

Everyone: "What is that?"

Li Chunhua heard it too and saw the familiar figure of her transformer, Little Lotus. On the Little Lotus’ back were Chef Long, Little Ginseng, Little Mantou, and some nymphs.

"Little Lotus!" She waved her hands in the air.

Chef Long found them. Thank goodness!

Nikolai was stunned. A dragon? He turned around after catching the noises, and his eyes landed on the female player, who was currently waving her hands indicating she and the dragon were acquaintances.

Remembering the rumors from the Main Game Planet about someone summoning a dragon, the red shade in his eyes deepened. "It’s her?"

Li Chunhua’s joy was only short-lived because she saw lots of bullets and cannon attacks aimed at Little Lotus.

Below, Dranax was supposedly going to the tower to disable the barrier, but he didn’t expect to be so lucky.

Eyeing the pair of draconic wings that can be attached to the golem, his eyes shone with greed. "Fire, but don’t aim for the wings!"
