Chapter 279: Building a Battleship (1)
(Chapter dedicated to IheartBT for the car. (✿◡‿◡) )
Below was the kitchen, storage room which she had filled with wood, stones, metal ingots, tools, and many more she had gotten from the mass looting.
Further down was a 5x7 meters pool which the nymphs can use as mana fountain. It was filled by her with the water supplies in her inventory.
She built 12 trebuchets and 12 ballista and spread them on upper deck floor, two of each were placed on the stern and the bow and taught the nymphs on how to operate it.
These guys were very eager and smart students and after only demonstrating once, they got a gist and what’s more surprising was their aims were impeccable even with less visibility.
Li Chunhua threw wooden planks and they were able to hit it. Even the priestess was very fierce.
(⊙ˍ⊙) Can I take them back?
Li Chunhua had the urge to recruit them and let them catch seafood for her. With a hitman crew, there’s no waste in ammunition.
The magic towers unfortunately couldn’t be built outside her Salted Fish territory. Li Chunhua was helpless about it.
After her bland dinner, Li Chunhua slept on the makeshift bed piling up blankets and she kept dreaming of Chef Long making delicious food but not before giving the priestess the crossbow and mini catapult blueprints.
Shivani copied the blueprints on the screens including the rams, scaling ladders, springald, and many more. She also took a serious look of the boiler room, studying its components and operation.
The priestess was sitting and scribbling on the table. A flashlight was providing light in the room. She was looking like a student cramming for a mock exam.
Such nobility items made the priestess more curious about the Champion’s world. She really wanted to ask about a lot of things but the Champion was snoring very loud making her assume that she was exhausted.
A group of nymphs armed with Gold-Grade gears watched the night together with the King Clam roaming the rears. This fellow after experiencing the life of a surfboard wanted to get affiliated with Li Chunhua.
Fortunately, the sorcerer didn’t send another batch of iron men golems or else Li Chunhu might have to be an Air Bender again.
The priestess after getting a lot of blueprints about ships and weapons studied them all night.
Shillo was also taking part and helped her sister while discussing and suggesting about engraving water magic amplifying runes on these weapons and modifying some parts because they lack a blacksmith.
Li Chunhua was unaware that she was again changing the destiny of some and the world and unknowingly became the benefactor of the future largest pirate group.
[Current Time: 6:20 a.m., 300 meters west from the location of the original Nymph’s island]
When morning came, Li Chunhua was late at waking up. The nymphs had already moved and when she went outside, she was greeted by the nymphs and each group were busy was something.
"Good morning Champion." Shivani called holding a notebook and pen. She gave a short greeting before heading down the lower decks where there were currently building a functional boiling room.
Li Chunhua didn’t have any extensive knowledge of the building ships nor the novel had written it in details but the system has.
[Basic Shipyard (+) (Custom)]
[Categories: (Passenger Carriers), (Industrial Ships), (Cargo Ships), (Service Vessels), (Warships)...]
[Boat/s or Ship/s available to manufacture: (Junks) (Long ship) (Galley) (Knarr) (Caravel) (Carrack) (Cog) (Yatch)]
Most of the ships in the basic shipyard consume wood, flax fiber, and metal ingots. She can make modification such as increasing the number of masts, height, length, widths of the decks, designing the layout and including accommodation rooms and whether to add weapons.
The average HP, DEF, and Sailing Speed of these ships varies but were nothing compared to the properties of the ships shown in the Intermediate Shipyard.
[Intermediate Shipyard (+) (Custom)]
[Boat/s or Ship/s available to manufacture: (Aircraft Carrier) (Battle Cruiser) (Destroyers) (Frigates) (Corvettes) (Submarines), (...)]
The intermediate ships demanded rare ores, high-grade metals like magnum steel (aluminum alloys), star steels, and even attribute crystals however the Defense properties and combat capability is totally worth it. She can also add modifications she likes but nothing is free.
System will take advantage of draining her savings.
As for the [Advanced Shipyard] and above...
[Universe Destroyer], [Floating Island], [Interplanetary Carrier], and so on...
The materials asked by the system were pipe dreams...
In the novel, the highest-quality ship built was Hail the Emperor’s Harem, a downgrade prototype of a Battle Cruiser with the speed of 3 m/s. It had a length of 40 meters, 8 firing holes on the hull reserves for water cannon and runs on a boiler room that consumed mana ores.
(A/N: Do tell me if the infrastructure part is too detailed or just enough. Sending love in advance.)
The ship was constructed by his native after making temporary negotiations with Xun Mingsheng.
"It tickles there. It tickles. Ha ha ha."
Li Chunhua walked to the bow.
Five nymphs worked together to clean the King Clam’s shell in and out as repayment for the Uber ride. It was full of red moss, grit and debris looking like sticky barnacles.
Li Chunhua lent one lye soap, pick axes, and rags since the King Clam smelled like an expired fish paste.
"What are you doing?"
Li Chunhua was sitting on the edge of the ice railings on the bow of the ship. Her two legs were hanging outside. She was tinkering with a piece of stone in shade of the red moss.
"I’m making a barrier." Li Chunhua explained.
"You know how to make a barrier? Are you a sorcerer?" The King Clam was utterly shocked but when it thought of its broken teeth the shocking factor diminished.
"A sorcerer? You know about them?" Li Chunhua stopped engraving on the jade and focused her line of sight on the clam.
"I heard there was one in the island 30 miles from here. He had a barrier that can shield his home and That is why some aquatic monsters including those big guys seek protection in exchange for mining the ores."
"Ship?"
"Yes, the sorcerer is working with miners and they often used big ships to transport the harvested ores to the island. I happened to see a ship once and though the size could not be compared to yours, it’s still big and I saw weapons on it that can throw big balls of fire killing those offended him in an instant."
Li Chunhua quickly hastened in making the barrier.
---
In the island the Clam was referring to, Dranax was gathering his golems and letting them supervise the new batch of Bloodmoon ores coming out of Steam ship.
Fishes of different sizes cooperated in bringing them on land.
With the replenishment, Dranax will be able finish his work and the future fearsome pirates will have their first ever naval battle.
