Chapter 269: A Mandatory Mission
The barrier rippled as the attacks landed. One could see gaps already formed. The priestess used her mana to repair it.
She let the other nymphs escaped using the vines in the south while maintaining the barrier on her own. When the golem shot a pool of lava towards those fleeing, the priestess expanded her defense wall extinguishing it. "Champion, I can’t hold on much longer. Please follow them. My clansman will tell you about this world."
Li Chunhua saw the mana bar above the priestess’ head was already a quarter. She rubbed her face and released a frustrated sigh before walking out of the water barrier.
"You owe a meal and a ticket back."
The priestess only managed to hear those words before the champion was gone from her sight. "Champion!" She called out in extreme worry. The champion must not die!
The nymphs were also stunned however they couldn’t see what happened beyond the water barrier.
The priestess instantly deactivated the barrier.
And all the nymphs and the priestess were dumfounded.
They saw the magma golems were all frozen and the Champion’s spear transformed into an axe with its blade shining with faint golden light easily cutting the beheading the golems like they were made of mud.
Her small figure flickered and appeared at the back of the golems like a ghost in just a span of 3 seconds and left white afterimages.
The golems couldn’t melt the thick layer of ice trapping them on time and only felt a cold sharp thing touched their necks.
The bangle wanted to remind its Master that the axe was lower quality weapon than the spear but it sensed a strange energy being injected into it. At his surprise, the axe ignored the golems’ defense and killed them.
Li Chunhua’s attacks triggered five figure damages all in red fonts.
The golems’ head cannot regenerate unlike their other limbs and the core keeping them alive was located five inches from their foreheads.
The headless bodies became ordinary rocks and crumbled apart becoming loot.
Li Chunhua received the notifications.

"Now can you tell how to get back?" Li Chunhua was in no celebratory mood even after seeing the rare loots scattered on the icy cavern floor. The axe in her hand changed into the spear form and aimed at the priestess.
Magma Golems are one of those monsters that are not born naturally but are either made through crafting materials and alchemy or summoned through sacrificing necessary materials including corpses.
In other words, there must be a high-level sorcerer or necromancer in this world.
And she doesn’t want to stay a single minute here.
Unfortunately for her, the priestess answered in genuine helplessness, "I’m afraid I can’t."
"Repeat that..." The end of the spear flickered with dangerous light and a layer of frost spread under Li Chunhua’s feet towards the priestess’s spot.
The priestess kneeled and immediately added, "But if I can get those energy stones from the other island, I can open another portal."
Li Chunhua lowered the spear and bent down to pick the loot letting the priestess heaved a huge sigh of relief.
(A/N: Our Little Baozi was quite mad unlike the first secret realm. It’s because the first one was her familiar’s fault but the second one was the other side’s fault. It will be unrealistic if she developed a good impression of them so suddenly.)
After the magma golem incident, the priestess led her to their habitat, on top of the ridge full of rocky formations. And as she followed the nymph, Li Chunhua noticed that there was not a single plant or tree, not even a tiny stalk of weed growing. The soil was dried and had cracks.
They walked squeezing a narrow crevice before they reached another cave.
Stepping inside, she sensed numerous eyes full of curiosity send in her way. She searched for those and noticed many peeking heads from the holes on the cave hole. Their faces were slim with cheeks sink like they were starved.
"Shivani!"
"Shivani!"
They shouted waving their hands to the priestess.
The priestess smiled at every nymph who greeted her. She also said a few more words in the midst which was in the strange language and these onlookers gave her a few glances more and there were admiration and hope swimming in their eyes.
The bangle: I bet the blue chick was introducing you to them and telling how you killed those golems.
Li Chunhua cast them glance and noticed a very thin one, her arms were thin as a child. This specific nymph smiled shyly and hid back in her cave room. Li Chunhua didn’t see the nymph peek again.
At the end of the tunnel, there was small pond, only about two-meters wide and the water inside was almost gone. Only a dozen few liters remained allowing her to see the bottom clearly.
To the left was a water curtain. The priestess invited her inside.
The cave room was around the estimate of 100 square feet. There was a circular stone bed at the center.
On her right was a stone table with four chairs. Behind it was a 5-layer shelve full of fist-sized pearls arranged neatly.
The priestess took one of the pearl and placed it the table. She beckoned Li Chunhua to seat.
Li Chunhua sat down and the priestess introduced herself. "I’m Shivani, the priestess of the Nymph Clan appointed by the sacred pond you saw just now."
The bangle: So it was her.
Li Chunhua was startled too. She thought shivani was some kind of secret bro code.
"The reason why I called you for now was..."
The pearl lit up and showed Li Chunhua some images.
"The Sea was not red before. It was crystal blue, full of life. The land was blessed with flourishing trees. Flora and fauna grew everywhere."
"We originally live in the sea. There was city decorated with colorful corals. We had our king but someday for unknown reason he disappeared and those magma golems appeared slaying our clansmen..."
"We tried to fight but the water, the source of our power was contaminated leading to our defeat. In the end we fled to the land and had to adopt for hundred years..."
"Just get straight to the point." Li Chunhua cut the priestess off. She doesn’t have all day. For all she could know the flow of time here might be different from outside.
The priestess gulped and said directly. "Champion, please get our king’s trident back from the enemy’s hand!"
"Where is it?"
"I heard it kept inside the throne room below the enemy’s island. In our previous city, Atlantis."
Atlantis?
Li Chunhua’s lips twitched.
[Welcome to the Special Realm!]
[Mandatory Mission before clearance: Catch three high quality seafoods from the Lost Atlantis.]
[Reward: Unknown.]
Li Chunhua wanted to cry.
ಥ_ಥ
That map has a Tier 3 Boss and its underlings were the only high-quality seafoods.
