Chapter 215: Weak to Drama Tags
[Global Rankings]
Just like how Li Chunhua read in the book. Her eyes were drawn to the words written on the small rectangles above.
The two were divided into [Territory Rankings], and [Individual Rankings].
As for the Individual Rankings, there are [Combat Power], [Level], and [Achievement Points] or better known as Earth Points gained from defeating bosses, clearing dungeons and so on.
Speaking about it, the system didn’t give her any points at all after defeating the boss of the final floor in the Frost Cavern due to her disobeying the rules.
Remembering how she and her two little buddies were kicked out after smashing everything to pieces including the Screaming Giant Croc, Li Chunhua sighed.
But as long Chef Long was safe then it’s fine. Compared to all the loots and rewards she could have gotten, the value of Chef Long outweighs all of those things. She could just loot the dungeon another day.
Going back, under Territory Rankings, there are several categories: [Prosperity Value] or the total assets, [Military Value] or the total Combat Power, [Population], [Conquest Points] and [Territory Level].
Li Chunhua’s eyes stopped at particular words.
Conquest Points...
The points awarded after capturing another player’s territory. There is no alliance in this game. Only the concept of the victor and loser reigned.
So far the system had not yet revealed information about it but after the tide chaos will sure to erupt but her goal still remained the same.
Currently the Top 100 list was empty but it still piques the curiosity of everyone. The natives were forbidden to divulge related information regarding this matter which is advantageous for her.
The chaos can be delayed for a few days.
[You’ve got a message from your friend, Player Hua]
[You’ve got 9, 500,000 copper coins.]
[Player Hua]: Baozi here is the rest.
Before the mock battle, Hua already transmitted 6 million copper coins. Now it was enough to pay for her debt.
With the burden lifted of her shoulders, Li Chunhua’s mood soared.
"Brother Siri, I’ll go out first. I’ll just fetch something from the foot of the mountain. I’ll be quick." Since her stocks of the stones were dwindling and the players in the trade market were selling them for a real estate price, Li Chunhua had to go out and extract stones on her own.
"Master, Can I come?" Little Mantou stood up and skipped towards her.
Long Haoran also stood up and approached her silently.
Siri was mentally tired from the battle so after saying to be careful on the road, he went back to his residence to take a short nap.
The others followed suit and went back to rest including the two gluttons yawning and the drained Elga who was the most energetic during the battle.
"Aren’t you both tired?" Li Chunhua’s eyes shifted between the two.
"I also want to go out. I haven’t went out since morning." Little Mantou skipped and walked towards the exit.
"How about you Chef Long?"
"I’m alright." Long Haoran replied.
----
Long Haoran and Li Chunhua together with Little Mantou headed to the forbidden forest to mine the Boss’ lairs which were rich in stones.
The trio didn’t spare even the remaining walls of the Emberward Valley.
[Stones x1457]
They only stopped when the walls crumbled down. Those Elder Imps who just went to conduct another meeting for the upcoming tide came back only to see the entrance of the precious valley gone.
"Who is it again?!" Ever since the day their Ancestor disappeared, misfortunes keep happening!
300 meters away...
"Master, I told you to be careful. Now, we only got 1000 stones." Little Mantou pouted, blaming Li Chunhua for the failed mining operation.
The purpose of quarry was to mine without the risk of monsters playing peek-a-boo and hide and seek.
Players can also find other sources of minerals like in Dauntless Spears case, but that required investment on the players’ part like stationing troops and workers because mining all the resources inside cannot be accomplish in just one day.
Unless you’re someone like Li Chunhua who had no regards for keeping the beautiful landscape and with her two fists ferocious than landmines ready to wreck the place.
"Making pick axe is expensive. I don’t want to spend a single ingot anymore on that single-use item." Synthesizing 20 of it only gave her 45 stones, she better used her hands but that didn’t quite go according to her plan.
She wished there was a more durable item.
The stones they have obtained from the place before were loose stones that can be found on the ground and after digging.
Regarding her retort that made sense, Little Mantou couldn’t refute and sighed exhaustedly. Too much strength sometime is a burden.
Long Haoran passed her the stones that he got through ’legal’ means. "What else do you need?"
Li Chunhua looked at the small hill of [Stones x178] piled in front of her. "How about your brother Chef Long? Doesn’t he need it?"
"I already have given to him." Long Haoran replied.
Chef Long was not stingy. Every loots he get, he always divided it between her and his brother.
This time, Li Chunhua didn’t activate her thick-faced skill and pushed the stones back. "Chef Long, I will try to ask Brother Siri later for the blueprints of the weapons used in mock battle. The ammunitions used are stone. Your brother will need these."
Another set of blueprints?
The lethality of the ballista and trebuchet were witnessed by Long Haoran and it was no doubt a big help for his brother.
But it was not his in attitude to take back what he had already given. "Just take it. I know you still need a lot and you can consider it as part of advanced payment for the blueprints you’re giving."
Payment?
"That’s for free. You don’t need to pay me at all." Li Chunhua skipped over the stones and walked ahead towards the direction of the second lair. In this case, Chef Long couldn’t insist anymore.
"Handsome Brother just take it. Master is already richer than you think. The warehouse is almost full." Little Mantou whispered before tailing behind Li Chunhua.
Long Haoran had no choice but to store the stones back and catch up with two.
---
Inside the lair of the Ice-mutant Boss Crocs, the three resumed their mining.
"How about your family, Xiao Hua?" Long Haoran asked out of the blue. For the past few days, she hasn’t mention anything regarding it which made him curious.
My family?
Master and Senior Sister are on the Tianmeng Continent...
Li Chunhua stopped and spun around her neck plastering small smile on her lips, "I don’t have any. I’m an orphan." She answered on behalf of the original owner instead since her situation was complicated.
An orphan?
"I’m sorry." Long Haoran’s eyelashes drooped down casting a faint shadow on his eyes. He wasn’t expecting that because he had seen her very carefree and always optimistic.
Li Chunhua turned around and returned to her pit digging. "You don’t need to be Chef Long. It wasn’t your fault and It’s all in the past. No matter how it was, I like to live in the future and what’s more, there’s nothing to be sad about if you still have a chance eat delicious food." They are the best comforters of the soul.
The memories Li Chunhua treasured the most when Senior Sister always takes her out to eat after they won spirit stones from gambling and also when Master would stuff her hands with delicacies secretly.
Those were the good old days...
Li Chunhua stared dazedly on the air for a few seconds reminiscing the peking duck, the roasted whole pork thighs, the eight treasure seafood porridge, the osmanthus cakes...
"Anyway, how about you Chef Long? Besides your brother, do you have another family member you missed?"
Long Haoran was originally concerned for her in case she became sad after his question but when she flashed him a smile, he let out a sigh. "I and my brother were orphans too."
"What a coincidence." Li Chunhua was stunned and commented.
Indeed. Both of their circumstances were the same. Is that why he find himself comfortable around her? For some reason, Long Haoran continued.
"We were raised in an orphanage until we were 5. There was a couple who adopted us..." Zurui and he thought it was a blessing but what happened afterwards was years of suffering.
Li Chunhua and Little Mantou stopped what they’re doing and listened to Chef Long. It was rare for him to share something about his life, so the two were very eager to know about his life. They thought they would listen to a lighthearted story but it was different.
"Hic...Hic...Hic..." Long Haoran heard the sobs and stopped talking. He lifted his eyes only to see Xiao Hua and the little fox looking at him bawling out biting on two pieces of handkerchief.
These two who only supports comedic and slice of life genres were weak to stories with drama tags, sympathized with their dear Chef Long.
There was already a small puddle of water on the ground soaked with their tears.
Long Haoran’s eyes shook.
What are they crying for? He only narrated how the couple disregarded them after getting the allowance leading them to look for food on their own.
Since it was the countryside, he worked in stables and field, feeding the horses and cattle for more than 10 hours a day, until a kind wealthy grandma who was living alone took him as an errand boy. He learned how to cook, sell his embroidered handkerchief and fried snacks to finance Zurui’s education.
Honestly it wasn’t worth crying. The purpose of his sharing it was because he was affected by what Xiao Hua said before.
Living in the future...
He had resentments of the past thinking that fate was cruel to them and even became crueler when he they were sent to this world.

"Chef Long is so pitiful. Hic...those two couples are not humans at all for not feeding a child. How can you endure that all Chef Long? Even missing single meal would be hard for me. I would look like a drooling Undead." Li Chunhua cried even more.

"Right...when I was banned to eat snack for three days for skipping classes. I thought I was the most miserable fox. But when I heard Handsome Brother’s story, I realized, I was petty for getting angry at my father." Little Mantou also shared his sentiments and regret what he had done in the past.
"Hic...Hic...Chef Long, what happened afterwards?" The two red nose reindeers approached him closer with another batch of tissue ready on their laps.
You’re already crying hard and you still want to cry more? He couldn’t understand her.
Long Haoran pinched the bridge of his nose. He found himself unable to continue. Instead he looked at Li Chunhua for a span of five seconds before grabbing the tissue in her hands to gently wipe her tears.
Her tears soaked the thin tissue and the temperature warmed the tip of his fingers.
"If you continue to cry, I will reduce you dinner later by 2%." Long Haoran only said those to make her stop. He thought it would succeed since she loved food the most.
But he was proven wrong...
"That’s okay. 2% is nothing compared to what Chef Long experience. Don’t worry Chef Long, the past will not repeat itself. As long as I’m here, I’ll assure you that will be well-fed and your brother too...we will eat all kinds of food in the world." Li Chunhua patted her chest. She knows the feeling the hunger and it was not good.
Long Haoran’s hands wiping her tears stopped. There were thousands of thoughts going on his mind as of the moment.
"Yes, yes, starting from now I’ll share my snacks too." Little Mantou placed his pink-padded paw on the man’s lap.
Truthfully, his heart was beating a bit fast and he could feel it was lighter. The burdens of the past slightly disappeared.
"Alright." One word was uttered after a smile bloomed on his lips.
When the three was done making the lairs unrecognizable, they were able to obtained [Stones x2346] and apart from that they also went to find [Witch Hazels x219 units].
The three travelled back to the territory when it was 5:30 in the afternoon, encountering all the residents sitting by a small bonfire, tipsy, chatting and drinking small wooden cups of Emberward Wine.
