Chapter 136: The Lucky Miner (1)
On the way, she took out dozens of different flavors of bread and tore the packages before finishing each one in two to three bites. Her hunger didn’t go away, and she only became more famished. Thus, she finished another dozen, but there was no change.
The basic hut residences were near the original front fences and Fern, and the others could see the landowner from where they were.
They had been waiting here since morning for the elf, but he didn’t show up. The short-tempered pixie was only in charge of the warehouse and knew nothing of the quarry and pipes, and the other two—there’s no need to mention them.
Fern was urged by his companions to approach the landowner.
"Landowner, we wanted to purchase some supplies, and is there any work for today?" He was a full-grown man, but in front of a 5-foot woman, she was slightly shivering. Who could tell him why the landowner was staring at him with fire in her eyes?
Li Chunhua lowered the intensity in her eyes before taking out the papers from her inventory. Before she didn’t notice, it wasn’t actually a stack of papers but rather a single folded paper.
( ̄﹏ ̄;)
She had a bad feeling about this.
She unfolded the paper, unfolding it again and again and again.
She spent an entire two minutes unfolding the paper, and before her was a 3x3-meter paper with elegant handwriting and beautiful sketches of infrastructure and layouts. The big problem was that the writing size was only two centimeters. Li Chunhua pressed her face to read the notes until she found the task regarding the pipes.
"There is. The territory needs roughly 500 of them more. An additional pay of 100% will be given for those who wanted to work overtime. For the one who managed to create the most clay pipes, he will be awarded one bronze piece of equipment of his choice. Do you have any questions?"
Fern and the others were startled by her crossed eyes, but it was only for a moment before they burst into chatter.
"The landowner had bronze equipment?"
"Landowner, is what you’re saying true?"
"A bronze piece of equipment! So far, I’ve only seen white qualities."
The natives shed their shyness and enthusiastically surrounded her and asked questions.
Li Chunhua instantly showed them the braised pork jade earrings. The natives’ eyes stayed on the name for a few seconds, wondering if they had hallucinations, but when their eyes strayed to the description, they were amazed, and their desires to rank first were amplified.
Li Chunhua hurriedly went to the warehouse to retrieve the unfinished pipes and give them to the natives. She went back to the residence first to feed the chickens.
The chickens behaving well inside their temporary boxes flapped their wings at the sight of her. Li Chunhua tore two loaves of bread into tiny pieces and placed a small bowl filled with water inside their boxes.
After that, she brought out wooden planks, nails, and a hammer to construct a chicken pen on the back of the main residence. She spent only ten minutes to create one before a waterproof fabric was placed on its roof.
Since the elf was not around, the task of cleaning the greenhouse fell on her shoulders. She entered the small wooden houses before taking out the elf’s imperial edict. Following the instructions written, she busily scrambled to and fro and took off the waterproof fabric to let the green shoots bask in a tiny amount of sun rays before she watered them based on what was written by Emperor Siri.
With all that’s done, she went to transfer the chickens to their new homes, placing some shredded paper while taking a mental note to gather hay later.
She suddenly became a caring nanny and added a waterproof roof to Crocs’ pen by attaching metal beams and four wooden pillars. The crocs looked at the sun, wondering why their trafficker nanny became good all of a sudden.
Because of the moderate rain last night, the barren land was slightly muddy, making the heels of her slippers accumulate mud. The one-day eunuch Li Chunhua summoned the edict again and searched for the matter about the road.
She skimmed through possible pathway designs. The elf mentioned the cement and lime stones and even stated the mixture required.
Her stomach rumbled, and without hesitation, she dismissed the idea and used her own.
Stones appeared on the ground. Li Chunhua wrapped her hand in qi essences and chopped the stones into three parts with a 3-inch thickness before laying them like puzzles to make temporary stone paths connecting her house to the outside, to the pens, to the other facilities, and to the basic huts.
Li Chunhua thought she could get a little rest, but one of the natives informed her that the path on the way to the clay resource point was slippery and dangerous, and they could hear the sounds of hissing amongst the wet grass patches. Fern, the only combatant, couldn’t guard all of them while also carrying the clay back to the territory.
Li Chunhua: "..."
"Where is it?" She asked, clutching her hungry stomach. Those three gluttonous thieves—I will have them squat on the corner once they return.
The native told her of the location.
"Besides clay, what else do you need?"
"We already stock liters of water from the rain last night, but I think it’s not enough, and if we could get firewood too,"
"Alright."
"Thank you, owner." He had personally witnessed her fighting ability, and if they were able to get her help, the trip would be safer.
The native went back to share the good news with his companions, and each of them carried empty sacks, but when they thought they would be joining on the trip, the landowner actually just looked at them before she magically disappeared, leaving them to search high and low for her traces inside the territory.
The location of the resource point was not very far away. Once she saw the lake, she went in for a dip and gathered as much clay as she could.
[You’ve got one unit of clay.]
[You’ve got one unit of clay.]
[You’ve got one unit of clay.]
In the midst, the surface of water behind her rippled, and a boa as tall as two stories emerged suddenly and opened its mouth wide towards the prey.
After a few seconds, a huge snake was tied to a ribbon being thrown on the side of the lake. Li Chunhua, however continued her work, ignoring the hissing ribbon.
This was not the end; she also heard familiar voices asking for help.
"It’s Master!"
"Master, help us!"
"Good old witch! Over here!" The three were overjoyed at spotting their master on the stream and ran towards her, hoping she could kill the three boas chasing them.
But Li Chunhua only looked at them before her figure disappeared.
The three being chased are: "..."
The old witch returned to her fake castle and gave her clay, water, and firewood. The natives had a few seconds to react because barely 20 minutes had passed since she was gone, but the amount of clay and water she brought back was so much.
Li Chunhua tiredly went back to her residence. "I’m so hungry. Chef Long, come back already!"
Hold on...
She hasn’t stepped inside the quarry yet. The location of the quarry was beside the summoning platform. Its appearance was a stone cave with a two-by-three-meter entrance. In order to mine, one must need a pickaxe.
She grabbed one from the warehouse before entering. The interior of the cave was a bit dark. Li Chunhua lit a candle before finding a spot for mine. She raised the pickaxe and hit a spot on the wall with its tip.
The sound of clanking echoed as the pickaxe turned into a scrap.
But a blue gem also rolled on the ground, making her eyes widen.

No way...
This thing could appear in a quarry.
