Chapter 105: The Overcooked Dancing Chicken

She counted the floating crystals. There were eight in total, and seven of them were close together, while the other one was slightly far away.

After touching one of the ones gathered in a cluster, she received a prompt.

[Do you wish to extract the territory crystal?]

This is a Territory Crystal?

Li Chunhua retrieved her hand and didn’t agree. These were items from a deceased player. She will not use them.

But if these were territory crystals, a battle must have occurred, but why did the winning side leave these resources? Li Chunhua was bothered by this notion.

Is it because the winner was afraid of these things? But if they have the guts to kill, then they shouldn’t be afraid of these crystals, which is a trifle matter compared to murder.

Li Chunhua walked around and surveyed the surroundings within a half-kilometer radius.

She saw a few players’ territories sporadically built. The players, along with their natives, were busy grinding levels, searching for resources, building structures, and farming, but she couldn’t spot a silhouette resembling Xun Mingsheng.

Her initial guess was that maybe the villain’s team encountered a stronger team and he was enslaved.

The strangest thing was how her tracking spell was wiped out.

Li Chunhua stored the floating crystals, planning to bury them later because if she leaves them be, some players might discover them, share their findings in the global chat, and begin hunting players to get rich and teams will also start a massacre.

She kept going in circles for another half an hour before she saw another batch of floating territory crystals. There were four of them, hovering over patches of grass with fresh blood on them near the entrance of the cave.

Li Chunhua walked past the crystals and inspected the small space in the cave. Traces of people living were found, like trash, pieces of rags, some wooden bowls, beds made of dried grass, and the still-burning embers of a bonfire.

The deaths of these four players should have been very recent.

Li Chunhua always hated conspiracy, and her brain would be exhausted just thinking of who could be the perpetuator behind this and their goal.

Unlike when she thought of food, her mind would be in a state of epiphany similar to enlightenment in cultivation, where one would have a drastic increase in their cultivation levels by leaps and bounds.

Li Chunhua rubbed her chin and stared at the floating crystals, unaware of a dark silhouette shrouded in black miasma approaching her back.

If Long Haoran were here, he would have recognized what the figure was. It was similar to the death envoy, who offered him a contract to live in the nightmare dungeon.

The death envoy raised its arms, and a large scythe appeared and swung it down.

Li Chunhua heard the sharp whistling sound behind her. Her eyes shot wide open.

[Energy Armor Level 1 Activated]

The blade of the scythe clashed with the layer of energy armor on Li Chunhua’s body, producing a loud clanking noise like when two metals collided.

The death envoy was stunned because its attack didn’t cause a single digit of damage.

[-0]

What’s more baffling was that it was the one who received damage instead. If its face was not veiled by black smoke, one should be able to see an expression similar to when Little Ginseng was held hostage by Elga’s huge axes.

[-234]

The scythe connected to its power broke and disappeared into a black puff of smoke, causing a backlash. Its form shook and became faint.

Li Chunhua turned around, wanting to know who had attempted to kill her, and when she saw the thing covered in black smoke, she was frightened.

[Death Envoy Level ??? HP: 416/650]

A death envoy!

It’s the dragon slayer protagonist!

Why is he here?

Wait! Shouldn’t he convert to a death envoy after the first monster tide? Why is it ahead of schedule?

Li Chunhua wanted to run away but paused when she received an odd prompt.

[The condition of the Curse Dancing Chicken is fulfilled. The curse is triggered.]

What is the Dancing Chicken Curse? Wait, could it be the Level 5 Cuckoo Bird spell? How can the protagonist have this?

She only cast them on Xun Mingsheng, his goons, and the celestial foxes.

The death envoy felt the familiar relapse of the curse and turned around, wanting to escape the place, but the curse didn’t allow him, and Li Chunhua witnessed a death envoy doing a chicken dance.

"Crooo, Mak, Mak, Mak." It bent its knees and elbows before flapping its arms while letting out chicken sounds.

The current image of the death envoy was like a dancing overcooked roasted chicken left too long on the fire unattended.

"Mak, Mak, Mak."

The death envoy’s miasma-filled feet scratched the loose soil and grasses on the surface.

Li Chunhua witnessed it made a pecking motion on the ground, probably trying to find chicken feed because its hungry.

She suddenly felt the spirit stones that were scammed by Senior Sister from her were worth it because this spell appeared to be very powerful.

But the question remains: who is this death envoy?

It didn’t take her long to get an answer because the death envoy in the midst of its ’mak mak’ routine shouted, "Make it stop!"

The voice struck her with familiarity.

"Xun Mingheng!" Li Chunhua unconsciously exclaimed. So, he became a death envoy?

The death envoy’s chicken dance halted for a second when it heard its name mentioned. "Mak...how...do..you...mak...know...my name?"

His response solidified her guess, and the next second, the overcooked chicken death envoy was subject to a rough beating by the patriotic fellow.

The funny thing was that his body in a gaseous state should be immune to physical attacks, but every fist of Li Chunhua that landed on him created a sound akin to flesh being punched.

"I’ve been searching for you!"

"Ahh!"

The historic patriotic shouts once again resounded in Xun Minsheng’s ears, and it brought back the bad ’eggless’ memories, when he became impotent.

His screams echoed in the cave where the righteous fellow continued its conquest. "Ahh!"

Li Chunhua didn’t let go of the envoy until the miasma dispersed revealing Xun Misheng’s current true form of a white skeleton. Two eyeless sockets filled with blue flickering flame orbs entered her sight.

The intensity of the flame was reduced every time his health decreased.

Li Chunhua didn’t want to let him off the hook this time after he caused another four player’s deaths.

"Ahh." The screams became softer as the time went by.

Xun Minsheng never though that in his first day of being a Death Envoy, he will experienced his second death. Why! Why! Nothing seems to be going smoothly of his plans. It always fails! Just why!

He bitterly lamented inside while letting out screams of pure agony. As he felt that true death was near, his past life flashed before his eyes and he had one thought: it was to go back.

By the time Xun Mingsheng’s HP became 0. The skeleton in Li Chunhua’s arms turned to dust and she heard a system prompt.

[You eliminated an Envoy of Death. System will reward you with 500 Earth Points and the Title: Death Envoy’s Patriotic Archenemy.]

[Title: Death Envoy’s Patriotic Archenemy

-Special Effects: Your name is now on the Death Envoy’s Most Wanted List.]

What?

(ʘᗩʘ’)

Li Chunhua was stunned.
