Chapter 426: 426: Jiang Zhi Jiang Zhi, are you sweet? (Second update
“You still have the nerve to come?”
The entrance was blocked by Jiang Fuli.
Jiang Fuxi, who had been keeping her head down, raised it, her face still carrying the usual gentleness, and she softly said, “Cousin, please don’t block the way.”
Cousin?
She actually had the nerve to say it.
Without another word, Jiang Fuli raised her hand to slap her, but as she reached out, Gui Family, who was by her side, caught her hand and flung it away.
Jiang Fuli stumbled, nearly losing her balance, and laughed out of frustration as she glared at Gui Family with contempt. “Isn’t she your direct granddaughter? Why do you still look like a servant?”
Gui Family’s face turned ashen, but she remained silent.
Jiang Fuxi stepped forward, a smile on her face, “Cousin, do you still want shares?”
Her voice was soft and delicate, her smile concealing a knife.
It was with this facade of gentleness that she took Xu Jiuru’s life; Jiang Fuli dared not be careless. “What do you mean?”
She chuckled lightly, “Cousin, it’s just sisterly love. I want to help you.” She took out a pen, wrote down a series of numbers for Jiang Fuli, “Contact me after the funeral.”
Jiang Fuli did not take it.
Unperturbed, she pinned the paper with the number on the handle of the hospital’s main door, then proceeded down the steps, disappearing into the dim and faint light.
Momentarily.
Jiang Fuli took the piece of paper, pushed the door, and entered the hospital.
Jiang Fuxi looked back.
Gui Family followed behind her. “Fuxi, are you really going to give her the shares?”
“Yes.”
“Why?”
Jiang Fuxi’s steps slowed, treading on the drifting fluff, a smile played on her lips—carefree and cheerful, “This cousin of mine, she’s belligerent. As long as she holds even a slight advantage, she won’t stay put.”
Gui Family was somewhat bewildered.
“If the power disparity is too great, and she’s too belligerent,” as the wind carried the fluff, Jiang Fuxi brushed her dark green skirt and smiled, “that would be a path to her own demise.”
People who overrate their capacities need to be taught a lesson. It was also them, this branch of the family, who had poisoned Jiang Zhi. That score wasn’t settled yet.
Gui Family couldn’t think that far, asking, “What will you do if you give her the shares?”
“It’s useless for me to keep them. Help me prepare, we should be leaving.”
She suddenly stopped.
Gui Family followed her gaze; under the street lamp ahead, Jiang Zhi was making a phone call.
“Have you given the will to Jiang Chuan?”
Gui Family nodded. “I had the nurse deliver it. I saw him receive it.”
Jiang Fuxi asked no further, walking towards the other side, and softly called out, “Jiang Zhi.”
Jiang Zhi glanced back, pretending not to see, and continued instructing Zhou Xufang, “You go get some sleep, don’t wait for me.”
Zhou Xufang didn’t want to sleep, “I heard Jiang Fuxi’s voice.”
Jiang Zhi immediately said, “I’m not talking to her, I’m going home now.”
Zhou Xufang agreed, “Drive safely.”
“Okay.”
Jiang Zhi ended the call and walked towards the parking lot.
Jiang Fuxi came face to face. “Jiang Zhi.”
Jiang Zhi ignored her, walking straight ahead.
She reached out and grabbed his sleeve.
Jiang Zhi reacted fiercely, shaking her off, his face instantly frosting over.
She stood stunned for a long time, retracting her hand. “I’m leaving Imperial City.”
Jiang Zhi was exceedingly impatient. “What does that have to do with me!”
“It does concern you.” She gazed at him foolishly, her look like a net, “No matter where I am, I’ll be watching you.”
Damn, crazy!
Jiang Zhi turned and walked away.
Jiang Fuxi stood still, watching him until he was far away, the net in her eyes unraveled, becoming cold and stark. “You may not love me,” she murmured, “but why must you love someone else?”
In this world, no one is worthy of him; he should remain alone, until death…
When Jiang Zhi returned to Qingshan Mansion, it was already fully light.
Zhou Xufang, hearing the car, ran out, calling from the roadside, “Jiang Zhi, Jiang Zhi.”
Jiang Zhi parked the car, barely stepping out before Zhou Xufang rushed over.
He staggered several steps back, afraid of her falling, and quickly steadied her waist. “I told you to sleep, why don’t you listen?”
“I can’t sleep.”
She was lightly dressed, the morning chill intense, and Jiang Zhi took a blanket from the car, wrapping her up. “It’s morning now, are you hungry?”
Zhou Xufang, “Not hungry.”
“Then shall we go back to sleep?” Jiang Zhi touched her face, so cold, and quickly warmed it with his hands.
She looked up at him, her face as small as his palm, those Phoenix eyes sparkled when she smiled, “Will you sleep with me?”
“Okay.”
“Then let’s go.”
Jiang Zhi left the car and led her home.
“Jiang Zhi.”
“Okay.”
She suddenly said seriously, “I love you.”
Jiang Zhi was unprepared, his ears reddening. “Why bring this up all of a sudden?” Usually, even with half a day of coaxing, she couldn’t muster a sweet word.
Today, Zhou Xufang’s lips seemed coated with honey.
“Isn’t this what you like to hear?” She repeated, “I love you.”
Her face flushed, her serious demeanor reminding Jiang Zhi of the girl in the elementary school textbook who looked up at the national flag with a red scarf.
Like the morning sun, pure and sincere.
Jiang Zhi held her, stopping by the roadside. “Xufang.”
She looked up with her blushing face, asking him, “Is it sweet enough?”
Zhou Xufang didn’t know how to comfort people, it was Ah Wan who said Jiang Zhi liked to hear cheesy things.
Jiang Zhi smiled, wrapping her in his arms.
The girl in his arms, beyond the grudges and scheming, was his last piece of sweetness.
