Chapter 92: Ch 92: Some fresh air - Part 1

Angry Pheromones saturated the air around Anabella as she tried to breathe. But every time she tried to do that, she could feel her insides burning and her eyes moist.

Her body was responding to the angry alpha, and it wanted to release soothing pheromones in return for making the alpha feel better.

But just as she tried to do that, her nerves got the better of her, and Anabella found herself unable to act on her instincts, which was a frustrating battle within herself.

It would not have been such a big deal if she had not been inside and her expression had not always been visible to Noah.

"Are you alright? Look at how pale you are. Tsk, that manager is sure to be a problem. Maybe I should talk with the higher-ups and have him replaced."

Noah questioned this under his breath as he considered what he could or could not do to make Anabella’s situation more comfortable.

But the more things he noted he could do, the more awkward it made the female feel.

In the end, she decided to stop the alpha before he could threaten the livelihood of anyone.

"It’s fine, Noah. I am not feeling sick because of what that manager did. I think being inside for this long is making me suffocate. I should take a breath and head outside."

Her words caused Noah’s lips to flatten out into an unhappy line. She knew he would protest even before she heard any words from her friend’s mouth.

"You don’t have to cover for someone else, Bella. I need you to understand that you do not need to hold yourself back when you are with me. Don’t worry me more than I already am about you."

Noah reached out to touch Anabella’s face but stopped mid-way and pulled his hand back.

The only evidence of his impulsive action was the blush on his face and the reddened neck in front of the omega.

Seeing the alpha being shy like this made Anabella feel a flutter in her chest. She wanted to see Noah even more embarrassed, but she thought she couldn’t handle it well.

Her heart was already ready to burst out of her chest, and it had only been a few minutes since she saw the man in front of her.

"A-Anyway, I am not covering for anyone and do not want to be cover for anyone. I should be heading out now. I-I will be back in a few minutes.

Anabella doubted she had ever run so fast from a situation before. She was also sure that her face was beyond red at this point.

But she could not bring herself to care about any of this when she felt like she was about to have her face explode.

’T-This is so embarrassing. It feels like a date, but I cannot treat it like one. I need to remember that we are just friends out here to play. This is not a date!’

Anabella could tell this to her mind, but her body refused to listen when she tried to make it understand. As a result, when Anabella felt like she had calmed down, her blush ignited her face again, and she could not lift her head to show it to the public.

Many people looked at her with concerned, filled expressions. They even wanted to approach her and ask her if she was fine. But Anabella could not answer them because words were failing her.

...

Noah tried to keep his cool and smiled as he watched Anabella run away.

He kept his cool attitude only this, but as soon as he could not sense the omega anymore, he decided to make his call.

Clair must also be waiting for his call because the female alpha picked up the call within seconds of the first ring.

[Hello! Noah, what a pleasant surprise it is to hear your voice. What can I help you with?]

The female asked, surprised, but fakeness coated her words under a layer of suspension.

The more Noah heard her voice, the more he was sure that Clair was in on the whole thing and that she was why he was getting interrupted so much today.

"You bastard-! We agreed to stay out of each other’s way regarding Bella. Why the hell are you trying to interfere? And that manager? Is he you’re doing as well? I do not appreciate anyone else butting into my business."

Noah had not yelled, but it was a close thing.

His neck and face had veins popping out to keep himself calm. But the more he tried to suppress himself, the angrier he felt.

Clair knew him well, so she even knew how he felt. It made her cringe, but she knew that she deserved to be cursed at this time.

After all, she had broken the pact she had made with Noah regarding their omega.

"I apologize. I did not mean to become a barrier between you and Anabella. I will talk with the manager and ask him to leave you two alone....by the way, you are not saying this in front of Bella. Even you are not bold..."

Clair spoke back, but she sounded worried.

Knowing their crush, they knew the married omega might not take their current interest well. They needed to work more on their relationship before it could head anywhere.

Noah stiffened as soon as he heard Clair’s words. He looked around, but he could not spot Anabella anywhere.

He knew the omega had decided to head out, but he had yet to learn where she had gone. He needed to find her before she got into trouble.

"Clair, I need to head out. I think I lost Anabella, and I need to bring her back. I will talk to you later...you better keep the end of your deal this time, or I will feel angry with you. I am sure you know what will happen better than anyone else."
