Chapter 55: Ch 55: A possible Sibling - Part 3

After a long struggle, James finally fell asleep, and Daniel pushed himself up. It was time for him to get some answers from his wife and find out what she was thinking.

He walked through the empty corridor, and the moon’s reflection made him look even more dangerous.

Finally, James reached Anabella’s room, and he did not bother knocking at it as he forced it open.

The omega unlocked her door (mainly because she knew no one wanted to bother her in this house), and Daniel’s actions caused it to bang harshly as it collided with the wall.

Since this room was at the other corner of the house, so Daniel doubted it would wake his son or lover. But it woke Anabella, who jolted awake in a second.

"What the heck...do you know what time it is? Whatever you want to say to me can wait until morning, right?"

Anabella asked in a tired voice. She yawned as she tried to keep her mouth closed, but her tired body did not respond to her intentions and let out a few yawns.

’Shit! It is too late...or well, early for it. I can’t even think properly.’

Anabella tried to look at the time, but her eyes refused to open. She was about to fall asleep once more when she felt a sudden burst of pheromones targeting her. That jolted her awake, and she quickly defended herself against them.

"What do you think you are doing, Daniel Ross? Explain yourself right now. As far as I remember, we promised to maintain each other’s boundaries."

Anabella was wide awake now and felt her short temper finally snap. She yelled at her husband as she threw her covers away and stood up.

That way, she would have a better chance of running and countering her husband compared to before.

"Yes! That’s what we promised, and that’s my problem with you. How dare you fill my son’s head with useless things he does not need to worry about. Because of you, James is suffering with useless thoughts."

Daniel yelled back at Anabella, and she felt bad for a minute. Had she done something like that?

Surely not-!

"Ah, I can tell by your expression that you don’t know what I am talking about. That’s fine! I will be more than happy to remind you about it."

Daniel’s expression made Anabella feel nervous. Her fight-or-flight instinct told her to run and get out. Even her personal space did not feel fine, as it was being fielded with the alpha’s threatening pheromones.

Breathing became difficult for Anabella; she clutched her neck before falling on her hands and knees. She heaved as she tried to get her breath under control, but it felt difficult.

"Did you tell James that he would have a younger sibling? Why would you do such a thing? That distressed my son, and he almost cried because of you. I had a hard time calming him down and-"

"What does that have to do with me? I just told James that there was a possibility that he might get a sibling in the future and to be prepared for it. Initially, it was something you should have told him. So why are you getting angry at me about it?"

Anabella asked in a tense voice. Her dry throat felt itchy, making Anabella want to cough and grab it. But she held her desire back and kept a firm look ahead.

The more she looked, the more Daniel looked angry.

In anger, he threw a vase and a few photo frames down on the ground.

"Don’t be ridiculous. James is the only kid I want in my life. As much as I love Sharon, I do not wish to have a kid with her and cause a conflict of interest. No matter how much Sharon loves James, having her kid can cause her to be interested in conflict.

This would also give my board members the ammo to try to replace James because they cannot control an alpha. I won’t risk it, so it’s not a bother-"

Daniel went off speaking about it, but Anabella quickly stopped him from speaking.

"Wait a minute-! So, you say you don’t want a kid with Sharon? Have you talked about it with Sharon before? If not, you should clear this misunderstanding out with her and James. And also, get out of my room now."

Anabella was shaking, but her question knocked Daniel out of the headspace he had been in for the past few minutes.

"I...did not talk to Sharon, but I am sure we have the same thoughts regarding our future. You do not have to butt into our business."

Daniel felt irritated enough to leave after he was done speaking.

Anabella’s words caused him to pause and think about what she asked, and they also made him want to check this with Sharon.

As soon as morning came, Daniel headed to Sharon’s room and waited until she was awake.

The omega was having a nice sleep, but she almost had a heart attack when she woke up to see Daniel hovering over her like he wanted to tear her apart.

Her heart beat in fear before she calmed down enough to see the situation and warp her arms around the young alpha looming over her.

"Daniel, you scared me. You should have told me that you wanted to see me. I would have made time for you. Or is it because you want to spend time with me in secret? Do you want me to help you out?"

Sharon asked as she tried to reach for his front. But Daniel pulled back as soon as he noticed that he had the omega’s attention.

"It is nothing like that, Sharon. I just wanted to talk to you about something that is bothering me and is an important discussion about our future.

So...what do you think about having kids? Have you thought about it before? Can you share your thoughts with me?"
