Chapter 46: Ch 46: Small Gestures - Part 1

"See, I told you that I saw a familiar face. Bella, you were here as well? Why did you not call out to us? Did you not see us? Or did you want to ignore us? If so, then you should speak up. We will leave you alone."

The arm holding Anabella against the firm body tightened its hold for just a second before it let Anabella go.

But breathing suddenly became tougher for the omega as panic filled her mind. She wanted to speak, but her voice could not leave her throat.

"Noah, give Anabella some space. You are smothering her with your presence. Do you want to annoy her more than you already have?"

Clair’s voice was calm and quiet, but it was also filled with concern. She noticed that the omega had not turned to look her way or even indicated that she had heard what had happened.

Usually, the person behind the talk would have turned to face the alpha pair already, but Anabella was acting differently.

It made Clair suspicious, but she did not want to make assumptions.

"It’s nothing like that. I just did not see you both when I entered. There was an accident with my husband, and I had to run to the bathroom because of it...what are you both doing here? Isn’t this a female omega bathroom? Are you two allowed to be here?"

Anabella asked once she calmed down and her brain started to work.

The first thing she needed to do was drive this pair outside so that she could think of a solution to her problem.

She could not even lift her head because she was afraid the alpha pair in front of her would discover her.

Her low voice and refusal to look at the pair made them suspicious. They exchanged a look, and before Anabella knew it, a soft pair of hands grabbed her face and pulled it up.

It exposed her face and neck as well as all the bruises she had suffered from.

"Shit-! What the hell...are these strangling marks? They are quite bad...you should get this checked and then reported to authorities..."

"No, it’s fine. I am fine. This was an accident that will not happen again. There is no need for you to feel worried about me. *Sigh* I do not want to make a big deal out of this small situation, so I would be grateful to you both if you keep this quiet for now."

Anabella sounded certain that this was what she wanted, but the pair she begged did not seem to share her opinion.

"You do know that I am a medical professional. And no matter how I see it, this stain does not look ’fine’ to me. It looks like you suffered physical and mental trauma because of what happened.

If it is something you cannot speak about, then tell us. We will take care of this for you."

The offer was tempting, and Anabella wanted to take it. But she had to restrain herself from doing so, no matter how tempting it looked.

She had morals, and she also had her family to consider.

Those people were her only backbone of support until she got marked and found her alpha.

As much as she would like this pair to be her partners, they were taken by each other. Anabella was not a home wrecker, so she wouldn’t interfere in their relationship.

"It’s fine! I told you that this mistake happened because I was not vigilant enough. You do not have to worry about my neck. It will heal soon.

For now, can you get me anything to hide it with? I would like to take care of this as soon as I can-"

Anabella was still speaking when she realized that she had never gotten the answer to her question about what these two were doing in the female Omega bathroom.

She wanted to ask, but bringing this point up now felt incredibly awkward, so she kept quiet and decided to keep these questions to herself.

’How did these two find me in the crowd anyway? Was it because they accidentally saw me? Or, was it a coincidence that they came here and found me-?’

Even though Anabella did not say anything, what she thought must have shown on her face. The next thing she knew, the alpha pair flushed red, and they could not meet her eyes.

Finally, Noah gave her the excuse she was looking for.

"O-Our meeting is just a coincidence and nothing more. We came here because we wanted some alone time away from the crowd, and this place is mostly deserted...we were not stalking you or anything."

Noah defended himself, raising his hands to show he did not mean it.

Compared to his mean and strong appearance, he acted like a puppy, which ruined his image as a tough-looking guy.

Anabella laughed out loud when she saw her friend acting cute like this.

"I get it. This is not your fault, and you just wanted to help. Don’t worry, I won’t say anything to you. I should leave you alone now so that you can enjoy your ’alone time.’ If you need me, come and find me."

Anabella assured the pair before she subtly made her way out.

Or, she tried to before she caught her reflection and noticed the visible marks on her neck and face,

She had make-up, but only enough to cover one of the two spots.

It made Anabella sigh in regret, and Clair noticed this. The female alpha opened her bag and brought a neck scarf before she knotted it around Anabella’s neck.

That scarf hid all the injuries Anabella sustained on her body and carried the scent of the two alphas whom Anabella liked.

"Here, wear this to protect your neck. This way, no one could see those marks on your neck."

It was a small gesture, but it meant a lot for Anabella. She felt like her heart would leap out of her chest after what happened.
