Chapter 42: Ch 42: Calm interactions - Part 2

"Did I do something bad to be treated like this in my past life? I am sure that Sharon does not know about my peanut allergies, and yet she made this. I am not in the mood to cook for myself today..."

Anabella entertained the thought of skipping breakfast for the day. But, the idea of changing her schedule for the sake of her husband and his mistress did not sit well with Anabella.

She also did not want to eat anything Sharon made. It filled her with bad vibes.

’Alright, take out it is. I should decide what I want before I order.’

There were so many choices, but Anabella made her choice quickly before she called for the takeout, specifically instructing her to leave the food outside her door and ring once it was here.

Things happened just as Anabella wanted them to, and she quickly unboxed all the material, only to see that there were not enough plates.

She also noticed that the filth from last night had yet to be cleaned, and all the dishes were left unattended.

It would take ages to clean everything, but Anabella was ready to do whatever she needed.

"Should I call someone to come and clean this up? I doubt this will take care of itself."

Anabella wondered as she ate her takeout right out of the container. Around this time, Sharon decided to make her appearance downstairs. She looked like Anabella but in a different way.

She paused as soon as she noticed the smaller omega before quickly deciding there was no point in holding back her voice.

"Was the food I made to your liking? Do you want me to make you another sandwich..."

Sharon asked nervously before she noticed the take-out in Anabella’s hands.

The older omega’s eyes welled with tears, and she looked sad to see Anabella eating take-out instead of what she had prepared for her.

"..."

Anabella felt like she needed to explain why she was eating takeout, but after a moment’s reflection, she decided not to say anything and to keep eating her food.

"If you were not going to eat the food I made, then you should make it clear. I know you don’t like me, but don’t do this to the innocent food that has done nothing wrong to you..."

Sharon asked in a low voice. She looked offended and sad at the same time.

Despite her acting like his, Anabella kept chewing her food and gulping it down. It started hurting her jaw, but she kept eating as quickly as possible.

The more indifference she showed, the more Sharon looked ready to cry.

"Fine! Be like this. I don’t care! If you do not want to eat the sandwiches I made, I will not cook your portion from now on. You can survive on your take-out all you want."

Sharon sounded like an entitled brat who did not know what they were doing, making Anabella feel even angrier at her.

Despite this, she kept quiet and continued to eat.

Sharon felt spiteful at the lack of interaction, and her desire to make Anabella jealous increased. As a result, she told Anabella about plans she had not even made until now.

"I will go out for dinner with Daniel and James tonight. Since you are so stubborn about food, you can get your own in whatever way, shape, and form you want. Take care of yourself."

Sharon was so angry that she did not notice Anabella’s face and neck mask. She was too busy nursing her hurt feelings....

Not that Anabella cared. She preferred this to the tense conversion Sharon had been trying to force.

Anabella ate more than half of her takeout while keeping the other half for later. She could only eat so much in one sitting.

She spent the rest of her day in her room, not wanting to be seen by anyone with these marks on her face.

Anabella spent the rest of her day hiding from anyone else and happily ate the leftover food she had stored for lunch.

As for dinner? She got too tired of wanting to eat and crashed and slept for a long time.

When she woke up the next morning, nothing had been cleaned. The house was in bad condition and was even beginning to smell.

The trio she was supposed to see was nowhere to be seen, making Anabella’s decision.

"It is time to call in for a deep clean of this place. I do not want to know what my husband gets up to, and I especially do not want to look after this place on my own. I should get things started soon."

Anabella called for the help she wanted, and it arrived soon. The house was finally cleaned again, and Anabella survived another day at the takeout.

Finally, the trio arrived back the next day, and they looked surprised to see the house’s condition. It was fine and not falling apart as they had thought.

When she saw the trio arrive, Anabella sat in the living room, eating her food and watching the news. But she did not bother getting up to show that she noticed and continued to do whatever she was doing.

This was the third day, but her bruises had not improved. And that made Anabella’s desire to see the one who gave her these bruises even less.

"Hey, did you get this place cleaned up or something? It looks different than what I left it as. Who permitted you-"

Daniel started to speak, but when his eyes landed on Anabella’s face and neck, he stiffened up. The alpha had forgotten that he did that to Anabella in anger.

"Oh! You are back. That’s good. I no longer need to sit here and look after the house. I will return to my room now."

Before the alpha cloud said anything else, Anabella picked up her container and exited.

She left the confused trio all alone in the living room.
