Chapter 19: Ch 19: A Medical Emergency - Part 3

"Madam, do you need anything else? Please let us know if we can help you with anything."

The maids asked Sharon, and she quickly shook her head. She needed these maids gone before Daniel came over.

She trusted Daniel to only have eyes on her, but it would not hurt to ensure that no one else could ever grab his attention as Sharon did.

"No, it’s fine! You can all leave now."

Sharon ordered the maids to leave before she relaxed and opened her phone. She had been excited for this alone night with her alpha for a while.

Usually, Daniel brings James over, and all three spend quality time together, but Sharon also wants to spend some alone time with the man she loves.

It had been long since they shared a bed, and Sharon desperately wanted to spend time with her lover.

Moreover, she also wanted to bring up the topic of the pair marking each other.

Now that Daniel was married and refused to divorce his wife for the time being, Sharon could only compete if she had a bigger claim on her alpha.

So, being marked and getting pregnant were her only options.

Moreover, even Daniel’s family would have to accept her and finalize his divorce if Sharon got pregnant with his kid.

It would all be worth it in the end...or so Sharon believed.

But in truth, she was hesitant to bring up this topic.

’Tonight, I will bring it up at all costs. I will even drink to raise my courage.’

Alcohol burned as it went down Sharon’s throat, but she was determined to make use of it. She drank quite a bit before the doorbell rang, and she smelled her alpha’s pheromones.

"Daniel, you are here. Please come in."

She released her pheromones in response to her alpha and welcomed him in.

Sharon leaned in for a kiss when Daniel’s phone went off.

The pair looked at it annoyedly, and Daniel cut off the call as soon as possible.

But he had to pick up the second call since it was from his mother. And out of everyone in this world, he knew his mother was on his side.

"Daniel, what’s wrong? Don’t you want me?"

Sharon asked because she felt rejected. But Daniel could not wait for this call, so he gestured for Sharon to stop as he picked up the call.

"You idiot! How did you allow things to get this bad? Is that what happens when I leave things up to you? Have you looked at the news yet?"

Daniel flinched as soon as he heard his mother’s loud voice.

The alpha was so loud that she even managed to get her voice across the phone, and Sharon heard that yelling.

It sobered her a little, and she quickly opened her phone to look at the news.

The headlines she saw instantly made her feel she should not have opened the phone to check.

It was all about Daniel’s family and Anabella, but the news was not positive.

Various sources reported that Anabella went to the hospital for emergency treatment, and people wondered what happened.

Daniel’s absence by her side also raised questions about what happened and whether this was his fault in the first place.

This was a headache but also caused his company prices to drop. Daniel had no choice but to prioritize this emergency and respond to it.

"Tsk, this is bad! Sharon, I am sorry! I said I would spend the day with you, but I don’t think that would be possible anymore! I need to head out and check out the situation."

Daniel looked agitated as he looked down at his phone. He could already hear his mother complaining about this to him.

"Oh! I see. If this is the situation, we cannot help it. We should get going. We can’t have people gossip about your family."

Sharon quickly stepped beside Daniel and got ready to head out with him.

Daniel looked startled and even opened his mouth to tell Sharon there was no need to. But Sharon ignored him and pretended she could not hear him speak.

Under normal circumstances, she would never have done such a thing. She did not have enough courage to pull this off.

But these were not normal circumstances.

Sharon was drunk, and she had no idea what she was doing.

Alcohol made courage run through her veins, and her decision was impossible for Daniel to understand.

He opened his mouth to convince Sharon it was not a good idea, but she would not listen.

Daniel knew that well, so he gave up and let Sharon do whatever she wanted. What else could he even say to her regarding this?

"Alright, I give up! You can come with me, but keep your head down. And stay clear of my family for today. Mother is not in a good mood because of what happened."

It was an underestimation, and Daniel felt a shiver go down his spine just thinking about it.

Sharon’s expression said she understood, but he was unsure how much she understood about these things.

The omega was under the influence of alcohol, and it made her act braver than she was.

But once the alcohol left her system, there was no way to tell how she would react to all this.

’Ugh, what a headache; I would rather not deal with all this mess if I can help it.’

That was what Daniel thought. But a single look at Sharon’s tearful eyes changed his mind and made him reconsider his words. He could never deny her anything; it showed how his expression softened when he looked at her.

The pair arrived at the hospital, and the first thing Daniel saw was his mother’s accusing yes, asking him how he allowed this to happen. But Sharon’s grip on his hand gave him the courage to speak up against her, and he held his head high.

"Mother, I am here. Tell me what happened."
