Chapter 110: Ch 110: It’s a bad Idea - Part 1

"Daniel, will you not take me to your mother’s birthday party? I might get angry at you for neglecting me like this."

Sharon pouted as she watched her lover get ready to attend his mother’s birthday party. He looked nice, and his suit was crisp.

The more Sharon looked at him, the more she felt that initial spark of attraction that made her want to be with this alpha. She tried to reach out to touch Daniel, but something inside her stopped it.

Whenever she got close to him, she remembered how Daniel had rejected her and told her that she could not come with him.

Logically, she understood that he was right to ask her not to come. All Sharon would get in that party was disappointment and neglect.

It would be better for her to stay home and relax.

But that did not make her feel better. If anything, it ignited her desire to crash this party even more. She thought she deserved to be there and show that old lady she was wrong about Sharon.

Even if Sharon was not legally married to Daniel yet, it was only a matter of time. So, the old lady needed to accept her and let her into family functions.

’Well, at least I am not the only one who is not invited. Anabella is also in the same boat, and she does not even realize what she is missing.’

Sharon sighed and settled down. She got all quiet as she continued to look at Daniel from her seat on the sofa.

The more she looked, the more Daniel felt like he was doing something wrong. He could feel Sharon’s eyes bleeding into his back, and it made Daniel feel like he had done something wrong.

But he knew it was not his fault and did not want to disobey his mother.

"James, are you ready? We will head out now."

Daniel asked, and his son quickly headed down. As soon as James was there, Daniel forgot all about his worries and headed to the party.

It was a large gathering, and everyone looked happy. Daniel quickly walked over to his mother to wish her a happy birthday, but his mother looked a little unhappy when she saw him walking toward her.

Whatever Daniel wanted to ask his mother got stuck in his throat as he watched her look around the room for someone else.

"Mother, what is wrong? You look a little worried. Are you looking for someone or something? I might be able to help you out."

Daniel asked in a tense voice as he approached his mother cautiously. He could tell that she was not in a good mood.

And omega or not, his mother tended to cause a lot of trouble when she felt neglected.

"Tsk, this is nothing for you to worry about. I invited some people I wanted to get close to in the future, but it does not look like they decided to come to this party. It makes me feel a little disappointed, is all. You don’t need to worry about me or my mood."

His mother assured Daniel, and he felt alarm bells in his mind.

Since he knew his mother well, Daniel knew this was his way of his mother saying that she was upset enough to cause a scene.

And since his mother was this upset, something would happen soon.

"Fater, should we do something about grandmother’s temper? She looks like she is about to snap someone’s neck."

James asked, and Daniel sighed as he realized that even his son knew about his mother’s tendencies to cause trouble.

"It’s fine, James. You do not need to worry about anything. I will talk to mother about it all and sort things out."

Daniel assured his son before he walked over to his mother again and asked her the main question - who was she waiting for?

"Mother, would you mind telling me whom you are waiting for? I have a feeling that I would be able to help you if you tell me."

Daniel asked in a low voice. He did not need anyone else to hear his talk with his mother.

His mother looked tense and unwilling to say anything, but she could not hold herself back and ended up telling him.

"I am waiting for the Park family. You know, those Parks. They own a lot of the market as well as the whole of the black market. If we are friends with them, we will get many perks. I even spent so much money to set up this place for them, only to not get a response in return."

Daniel knew that his mother was being too much. She looked ready to protest and was already tapping her feet.

As much as Daniel wanted to help her, he knew he could not command anyone from the Park family to do anything. He had a well-established business, but a single message from the Park family would cause him to lose whatever he had.

"Tsk, all this money wasted. Anyway, I need to go and entertain some guests, so you take care of yourself and try to make some friends. After you are done, come and find me. There is someone I want you to meet."

Daniel stiffened when he heard his mother speak those words. He suddenly felt that he knew what his mother wanted him to do and why she asked him to come here without Anabella and Sharon.

"Mother, please, don’t do what I am asking you to do. I married because you wanted me to, so at least acknowledge that marriage and leave me alone."

Daniel whispered under his breath, but his heart knew that it would not be the last.

With a heavy heart, Daniel went around and found James. He clutched his hand and started to bring him over to where his mother was standing with a beautiful and influential couple who looked old and cheerful simultaneously.
