Chapter 70: Chapter 70: ADDRESSING HER MOTHER FOR THE FIRST TIME

"I don’t own a farm per se, but you can say that my village planted a lot of watermelons. And all of them are sweet and of good quality," he couldn’t help but promote his village’s products.

ZARA: That’s perfect then. Do you still have more?

"She is asking if you have more than this?" Emma translated.

"Yes. We still have a few more. Do you want them?" the man responded excitedly upon hearing that.

Zara nodded her head before she signaled.

ZARA: Give me everything you have on your truck. I will buy it all.

Like a prodigal, she nonchalantly said.

"This ... you really want everything?" after hearing what Zara had just said, Zara’s purchasing power took aback the man.

ZARA: Just give it to me. And also, if it’s nice as you say, I will solve your current problem.

"Really? That’s great. Thank you very much. Trust me, you will love them!" the man patted his chest as he assured Zara on the spot.

With the watermelons bought, Zara instructed for one watermelon to be cut in half before being sliced into several pieces.

The pieces were handed over to a few people who then acted as testers.

"Nom, nom.... Ummm... Miss, this is pretty good!" Emma wasn’t one to shy away from speaking her mind even with the broadcast in the middle.

ZARA: Is it that good?

Zara asked curiously as she tilted her head, pondering in her mind if she could have a taste too.

"Miss, she is not lying. They are sweet, but not overly sweet and at the same time, they test very good!" Ava couldn’t help but compliment the watermelons as well.

When Zara heard that, she looked at everyone first and seeing the satisfaction written all over their faces despite the stern expressions, her heart was finally at ease.

ZARA: Fine, since they have guaranteed it, I will buy more for my family from you.

With guarantees, Zara informed the man of her plans.

The man was very grateful that he began to tell Zara about her village. Hearing him talking and boasting a lot about the village, she couldn’t help but be curious.

ZARA: Mom, if you are seeing this. Send people to come and collect the great harvest. If it remains here, it might spoil. Your daughter had found something sweet and delicious for you. Are you happy?

Seeing Zara suddenly relaying a message to her mother from nowhere, not only Emma, Ava, and the bodyguards were surprised but also the viewers and the mother in particular who was singled out from nowhere were shocked as well.

"Miss, you .. what are you doing?" Emma asked surprisingly after digesting what had just happened.

Zara grinned playfully beneath the oxygen mask and responded to her.

ZARA: It’s my first time coming across such delicacies. I want everyone to eat it. Besides, it’s not like we will buy everything. I will leave some for the viewers if they are interested.

As soon as she said that, the comment section began to go crazy.

[Can we also buy them?]

[How do we do that?]

[Find a solution quick.]

"Miss, are you sure about this?"

ZARA: Um, didn’t he say that there is still plenty back home? We can go and check it out tomorrow. After seeing the number of watermelons available, I will see how many we can sell to the public.

Emma sighed helplessly after hearing that.

"I guess, it will be like that then."

Since Zara had decided, nothing was going to change. So, Emma took the uncle to the side and had a quick chat with him. No one knew what they were talking about but back in Kuville, someone was going crazy with happiness.

"Uncle Sam, haha, did you hear that?" she asked for the umpteenth time as her eyes narrowed into slits, happiness oozing from every pore of hers.

Uncle Sam smiled brightly, his wrinkles deepening as he also recalled what had happened earlier.

"I heard it, Madam. The fifth Miss sent you a message."

"Haha, does this mean that my baby doesn’t really hate me?" Lena squealed happily as if she was a child recalling that moment when her baby addressed her for the first time.

She didn’t remember when was the last time, her daughter called her mother. Even when she was at home whenever they would go to see her, she wouldn’t even look at them. She had completely alienated everyone in her family when she was sick.

"No, if she did, would she have personally embroidered the hankies for everyone?"

"That’s true!" she responded quickly as she caressed the hankie that had never left her side from the day it was delivered to her.

Uncle Sam nodded his head, a smile on his face before asking, "So who are we sending over?"

"Speaking about that. send Team A and B over. By now everyone should have seen and heard what Zara had said. I bet that they would be looking forward to receiving something."

"And the others for the public?"

"Send that nearest team in city B, they will handle the online sales and delivery."

...

Meanwhile, in Lingren Village, two men lay on the ground panting, blood splattered everywhere, the scene looking a bit gore, especially after the bloody fight that had just happened earlier.

"Are you sure you want to go to the next round?" a chilly voice asked icily as one of the men turned to look at the severely hurt man lying on the ground.

The one hurt the most glared angrily and unreconcilably at the man who had fought and won him over so beautifully for seven rounds and felt so much hatred towards him.

"Umph, if you didn’t cheat, did you think that you would have won?" unwilling to accept his defeat, the defeated spat at the victor.

"Hehe, who was it who made a silly bet? Didn’t I repeatedly warn you to not do that?"

"Didn’t I also warn you to stay clear from her?"

"And tell me if I am wrong, if I didn’t warn you repeatedly that I will never do something like that."

"You .... Why don’t you just piss off and stay out of our lives?" the defeated yelled angrily and dejectedly as he watched the victor wiping the blood from the corner of his lips before rising so that he was sitting on the ground.

"Child, you can never defy fate no matter how much you want to lie to yourself."

"Fate! What the heck is fate? I make my own fate. Who the heck are you to tell me about that?"

The victor stood up without answering the defeated and looked down on the younger man who was struggling to sit up and scoffed at him.

"From the second you allowed her to leave the house and partake in this journey, fate had already started playing a joke on you."

"You ..." the truth sometimes hurts. It was indeed like that. if she hadn’t started this journey, would she have met that bastard and be so smitten with him?

"That’s how beautiful fate is."

"You ..."

"You lost and I win, Quinn. So, stop whining like a child and keep your word!"
