Chapter 207: Chapter 207: REMOVING THE CURSE 5

’I think that I need to return to the temple and question Quinn. There must be more to this than what he shared!’ Amir became determined as he watched the remaining steps.

The dagger of suffering was used to stab the Book of Death and a puchi sound was heard, making everyone take a step back. That was so scary. For a moment there, they even thought that someone was getting stabbed.

The dagger was stuck in the book, and the priestess brought the book to where Zara was lying. As she chanted a mysterious hymn, she placed the book on top of Zara’s hands.

Zara’s body shook for a moment, startling the parents who weren’t expecting to see such a reaction. However, the priestess stopped them in time before they could react heavily. The ritual wasn’t allowed to be disturbed in any way.

Whatever happens in the weeks to come, they could only watch and let Zara fight for her life on her own.

How could a parent just watch that? Unfortunately, there was nothing that they could do for her this time.

After doing so, the priestess continued with the ritual and all the candles were lit with one simple instruction. The candles should keep on burning. If one burns out before it does, she lit another one until she wakes up.

The candles were the pillars keeping her life together. Without the strength of the candles altogether, then things might go awry.

So, the temple needed to be guarded 24/7 to make sure that the candles never burned out without anyone knowing.

On the first day, the priestess was going to keep watch as she had other things she needed to finish doing. So, the others didn’t have to keep vigil.

Since it was like that, Amir and the others didn’t have any choice but to return home.

When they reached the house, Amir excused himself and went to his room, where he made a call.

After a few rings, someone answered, and he asked, "Where is Quinn?"

And the answer he received was so disturbing his expression turned gloomy that instant.

"I will be there by tomorrow. Keep an eye on everything and make sure that nothing goes wrong!" he ordered the person on the other end of the phone before dropping the call.

Amir raised his hand to his head and started scratching his head in frustration. "Just what exactly is going on?" he couldn’t help but mumble to himself, recalling what he had just heard.

Things were getting complicated, and he didn’t like the sound of this at all.

At the same time, on the Hansleys’ side, they received an urgent call informing them that Quinn suddenly fainted after coughing blood and he has been unconscious ever since then.

Taken by surprise by this news, Cade and Lena, who understood the importance of Quinn to their daughter, knew that they needed to do something and make sure that nothing happened to him.

As they were stressed about what to do, Amir returned to the living room and informed them about the same issue as well.

"What should we do? I can’t leave my baby here!" Lena felt conflicted.

To her, leaving her daughter to check on Quinn wasn’t fair at all. That boy had caused her a lot of damage in the previous years. She didn’t like him at all and yet couldn’t see him dying or in danger.

However, just because she felt like that didn’t mean that she would leave her daughter to see him.

And with him being at Amir’s temple, then asking this son-in-law about what he thinks might bring a better solution.

And the son-in-law didn’t disappoint. "I had my men take care of the situation. At the same time, I will be traveling back to see what’s happening. You can keep vigil here and I will check on him!"

When Lena heard that, she sighed with relief. As long as it wasn’t her who was checking on Quinn, then she was fine with anything.

With the issue settled, the day passed peacefully, and another day arrived.

When Amir arrived at the temple, the place was heavily guarded and he headed straight to the clinic, where Quinn was currently admitted.

There was a small clinic at the temple. There were times when his people got hurt and sending them to the hospitals would raise questions, so having a clinic at the temple solved such problems.

And that’s where Quinn was currently admitted to.

When he went to the clinic, he found his long-term friend, a genius doctor who was titled a divine doctor by many with how good he was at fishing people from the clutches of death. Whatever case he takes on, he has never failed.

He was that good.

"How bad is it?" Amir asked as he looked at the pale-faced Quinn.

It was the first time that he had seen the other in such a state. He looked very bad, as if he was dying and this situation was simply too unbelievable.

The friend, who was named Jekah, shook his head as he let out a sigh. "This is something that a doctor like me can’t handle. He is alive and yet seems to be dying. I think it’s spiritual. You know more about this than me!" Jekah explained to Amir.

When Amir heard that, his brows furrowed as he thought of something.

If he wasn’t mistaken, Quinn should have fainted around the same time when Zara was on the altar. Could it be that because the dagger had his blood, and the dagger was used in that cursed book, he became like this?

If that was the case, then wasn’t he pitiful?

To think that the love he bragged about caused him to be in such a state. Just what the heck was Zara playing here?

He just didn’t understand this kind of love at all.

Could it be that he was unconscious, just like Zara and the two meeting in the dreams or something like that?

Amir’s thoughts started going haywire once again, and a murderous aura started seeping from him.

Jekah, sensing the familiar deadly aura, tapped his friend on the shoulder.

"You can’t kill a patient. I still remember that he is your wife’s adopted brother or something!" Jekah couldn’t help but remind this friend of his.

He had been friends with the other for far too long to understand what goes in his head without him opening his mouth.

And right now, he was sensing how desperately his friend wanted to get rid of this strange patient of his. And he couldn’t allow such a thing to happen.

"He should_" Amir was about to respond when Jekah cut him before he could say more.

"Amir, this is a temple. Have you forgotten? You wouldn’t want your wife to lead a tainted temple, would you?"

Upon hearing that, Amir closed his eyes and took a deep breath, calming himself down.

And after a while, he opened his eyes and glared at the unconscious person he so wished to cut into pieces but couldn’t before looking at Jekah.

"Just make sure that he doesn’t die and treat those wounds on him. I can’t let my in-laws see him battered like this!" he told his friend, making the other chuckle lightly.

Waving his hands, Jekah as he chuckled amusedly responded, "Don’t worry. I will make him look brand new and your image in your in-laws’ eyes will remain perfect!"

Amir smirked upon hearing that loving the sound of those words.

As long as they don’t see it, who can persecute him and call him a bad guy?

No one.
