The Billionaire's Cursed Heiress
Chapter 182: WHO IS SHE?

Chapter 182: Chapter 182: WHO IS SHE?

The next day, in Deity Oasis’s sacred land, a strange phenomenon was happening.

Earlier that morning, the high priestess held an offering ritual, something that had last happened several months ago.

The natives were confused as to what they might have missed upon seeing the high priestess performing the rituals on the main altar, which meant serious business. They could only join and worship.

Among the people participating in the ritual, the Hansleys were there alongside their people. After mingling with the others for a week, the natives were no longer that bothered by them.

After all, they were quite pitiful.

The ritual ceremony lasted for three hours before it came to an end.

After coming to an end, Diamond, who was among the people, stepped forward and walked towards the high priestess.

When the high priestess saw her, her eyes nearly popped and Diamond gave the lady a mysterious smile, making those watching this wonder what was going on.

However, the two didn’t say anything but merely glanced at each other for a moment before Diamond did what she wanted to do. Addressing the people who would be going to the forbidden land with her.

"Like I said yesterday, you need to pick eight among you and Zara should be among the eight!" she said as she scanned the two families, hoping that they had picked the fearless eight.

Although they won’t be required to do much, what they might face there might be too fascinating for them. The impression might last for a long time. She can’t protect them from everything after all.

"Yes, we picked the seven people who would be going!" Amir responded to Diamond’s remark.

Diamond nodded upon hearing that and looked at the high priestess, who was still trying to peek into her secrets and smiled at her saying, "High priestess, I will give them to you. With your blessings, the nine people including you would be protected!" as she handed over nice bead bracelets to her.

The high priestess glanced at the bracelets and her eyes flashed with an unknown glint before accepting them.

They all watched as she looked at them, her expression a bit unclear. However, they could ascertain that the bracelets intrigued the priestess and there was something special about them. They wondered what exactly.

And that question was answered in the next moment.

"Child, you are indeed a blessed one. To think that this could encounter the problem, I am intrigued!" the priestess praised Diamond earnestly as she clasped the bracelets together before closing her eyes to mumble a short prayer.

Once she was done, she looked at the eight people joining them and said, "Come over here and get your bracelet. These are protection charms. As long as you wear them, the death aura in the forbidden areas won’t affect you!"

Upon hearing that, everyone was relieved. They were indeed worried about that aura. So having protection charms that the high priestess even acknowledged showed that Diamond was truly a powerhouse.

As they got their charms, they couldn’t help but wonder, ’Who is she exactly?’ as they looked at the unfazed Diamond.

She was simply mysterious from day one despite all the information that they had of her. if she wasn’t someone who loved being online too much, they would have thought that she was some angel, sent to their family to help them in these trying times. And once done with her assignment, she would vanish as if she never existed.

Thankfully, despite her mysteriousness, she was just a human being. And one that they can continuously interact with and show gratitude to sincerely when all this is done.

After everyone wore their bracelets, all eyes were back on Diamond again.

"Follow me, we don’t have much time!" she said as soon as everyone was ready and started walking away.

Seeing her walking away resolutely, the nine hurriedly followed her.

Like a native of Deity Oasis, Diamond led everyone confidently, confusing the high priestess if Diamond used to live there before. But even if she did, why didn’t she know?

Besides, there weren’t any blacks in the sacred land, at least Deity Oasis, so it made it impossible for that thought to be true.

Meanwhile, Diamond took everyone out of the residential area and stepped into the forest, one of the many, and as soon as they were on that path, the high priestess’s expression didn’t seem particularly well.

She kept on glancing around, her expression threatening and her stance protective. Anyone could guess why she was doing that.

The spiritual battles were no joke. The Hansleys witnessed that.

After passing through the forest, Diamond came to a halt and this time, the high priestess’s hold on the scepter she always carries was even stronger.

Everyone could feel this tingling sensation that sent shivers down their spines just standing there. all sorts of disturbing cries sounded in their ears and yet none of them dared utter a word.

Diamond, on the other hand, was looking ahead, an amused smile on her face as she studied the inviable dark shield in front of her.

After checking it out for a while, she turned around and faced Zara. "Give me the dagger!" she ordered.

Upon hearing that, Amir, who held the dagger, quickly passed it to Diamond who took it calmly before facing the shield again.

One of the items she needed to prepare was the dagger of suffering. The dagger she gave to Zara back in Athary and one of the five relics that were going to get rid of her curse.

This dagger was the key to breaking this shield. So, with it in her hand, Diamond took several steps forward calmly before plunging the dagger straight into the shield.

Seeing her doing that, the high priestess’s soul nearly left her body. As a spiritual leader, she was one of the few who could see the menacing shield which had been hiding whatever was in there.

All the high priestesses before her failed to shatter this shield. In fact, no one dared to even try to take it down. The dark energy was so menacing and entering that forest only could send anyone in an outburst.

Attempting to pass through that dark energy, she didn’t dare imagine how deadly it would be.

If she wasn’t wearing the charm, she didn’t even imagine what would have happened to her. With centuries passing like that, the spiritual energy was diminishing as the dark energy seemed to be thriving more.

As she watched Diamond shattering the shield with one hit, her heart was in her throat.

She wanted to yell for her to stop however, something in her advised her to stop.

Since Diamond was able to produce charms which could encounter the dark energy and protect them all the way to the shield, didn’t that mean that she was capable?

As an outsider, she even knew where the forbidden area was.

How could she be a nobody?
