Chapter 181: FIND IT!

Chapter 181: Chapter 181: FIND IT!

"Um. I got the exact location now!" she said firmly, conviction written on her face.

Upon hearing that, everyone broke into a cheer as questions started raining down on Diamond.

"Where is it?"

"Is it safe?"

"When can we take it?"

"Do we need to do anything?"

Diamond listened patiently as she waited for the two families to tone down their excitement before providing them with the answers. She thought they needed to know right now.

So, when they finally went silent, giving her space to respond, she replied, "It’s somewhere very safe and dangerous for everyone right now. However, tomorrow we can go and retrieve it. But before doing so, you need to prepare a few things. Only when those things are there, can we take it out!" her tone was very solemn as she looked at everyone.

When they heard this, they couldn’t help but shudder, especially the Frostcrowns. As residents and natives of the sacred land, they knew all the dangerous places. After all, they were among the first things that all kids learn as they grow up in the sacred land.

These places were also known as forbidden lands, the lands where trespassing would result in one’s life. And these places were the ones that came into their minds when Diamond gave that response.

The Hansleys were clueless and had no idea what their in-laws were thinking and why they looked so pale upon hearing that.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t any time to ask questions as Diamond continued, "Only ten people, including myself and the high priestess, can enter that place. In fact, it can be said that I can only let ten people enter. I don’t have a lot of what can help us pass through there safely without receiving any harm."

Zara felt her head ringing as she listened to the list of things that they were told to prepare by noon. She didn’t know what Diamond had to prepare herself, but she could tell that if Diamond didn’t prepare, then the chances of getting the armlet would be zero.

Where they were going was so dangerous, it needed the presence of the high priestess to attend. They were required to do an offering ritual in the morning, with the priestess leading it. She would know what to do. No one can just visit the forbidden lands without preparations. A lot can go wrong.

And lastly, she must attend and go to that forbidden land, no matter what. Even if it’s dangerous, she didn’t have a choice.

She was scared when she heard that.

What if something scary happens there? Who would save her?

She didn’t want to die just to retrieve an armlet, but if she didn’t do so, then she would die as well.

She might as well be obedient and trust that Diamond would never harm her.

It wasn’t like she had anything to gain by sabotaging her.

After listing everything that she wanted, Diamond excused herself and left the two families together once again.

The Hansleys feeling confused, turned to look at the Frostcrowns to get some answers.

Bianca sees the situation. She knew that she didn’t have a choice but to explain to the in-laws about this dangerous place that they might be visiting.

With her explaining to the Hansleys, Drake and Monalisa, her in-laws, headed for the high priestess’s place. After all, they were the elders and were close to the high priestess. They were perfect for that assignment.

Bianca was born in the sacred land, so she knew as much as her husband or kids knew about it.

So, she decided to tell them about it. However, when she thought of explaining the whole situation in the universal language, her temples started throbbing.

Amir, seeing the struggle in his mother’s eyes, couldn’t help but inwardly chuckle before he took the matter into his hands and started explaining in Dynalis’s language.

It was easier to use a language that they knew than to make their minds go crazy because of translating the universal language into their vernacular to understand the best.

"The sacred lands are known as blessed lands. The lands where the deities used to reside in the old age. Because of the protection and blessings of the deities, these lands exist. At the same time, just because a land is blessed doesn’t mean that everything is well with it!" Amir explained slowly as he looked at the Hansleys. "The dangerous places that Diamond spoke about refer to the forbidden areas of the sacred lands. Only the ancestors know what truly transpired in those places for them to become like that. However, what everyone knows is that those places, if disturbed, death can only befall the transgressor."

This ... was it that serious?

The Hansleys couldn’t help but shudder with fear as they listened to Amir explaining more.

"In our sacred land, we have three forbidden areas, and as far as I can remember, those who attempted to venture into them perished. There is an aura and mist of death in those lands. People can go missing for days and when found, they would be miserable. Their deaths are simply .... Anyway, they are places that we don’t dare go to, even if we are curious. No one wants to play with their lives like that!"

Bianca nodded her head, agreeing with her son. Those places were simply too cursed and no one even knows how to break whatever curse was placed there.

So, to think that Diamond wanted them to go to one of those places in search of the armlet, she felt fearful and panicked despite her great desire for her son to marry Zara and start a family.

Must they risk their lives by offending whichever deity resided in those forbidden places?

Without being told, it was evident that they weren’t needed there. So why go?

She wasn’t the only one thinking like that, even the Hansleys, including Zara, thought like that as well.

"If it’s like that, then shouldn’t we go there?" Zara asked, her voice a bit lower, her fists clenched, and her thoughts unclear to decipher.

Amir turned his head to look at Zara, who was acting once again with a smile and responded to her, "Dear. Have you forgotten who you are?"

And that question, more of an affirmation, rang in Zara’s head repeatedly, knocking some sense in her.

’Yes. How could she forget who she was?’

Suddenly a confident smile blossomed on her face as she looked at Amir and replied, "I won’t forget again!" her tone was firm and the vow resolute.

Amir smiled at her, proud to see her not losing herself in negativity and doubt like before.

The others didn’t understand what those two were talking about, but seeing that they both didn’t have any look of despair, they could only force themselves to be like them as well.

After all, when the people directly involved were this calm, what was the point of being overly worried?
