The Billionaire's Cursed Heiress
Chapter 174: BETRAYAL

Chapter 174: Chapter 174: BETRAYAL

"Puchi! Puchi! Puchi!"

Three times, the horrible sound of the dagger as it pierced through her soft and vulnerable belly sounded.

"No~~~~~" Zara screamed as she fell to the ground, her hand stretched towards Zahrah, who was standing in a daze, a shocked expression on her face and in disbelief at what had just happened.

’What just happened? Who am I? Is this blood?’ that was what was in Zahrah’s mind at that moment as she reached her shaking hand to the belly that had just been stabbed.

When the hand touched that dagger, her feet staggered. Reality finally sinking in.

Lifting her hand from the dagger, Zahrah looked at her bloodied hand, her face very pale and in more shock.

"This is blood!" she whispered as she looked at the red liquid dripping on her hand before raising her head to look at the man who was glaring at her in such a way she had never seen before.

"Why ..... why are you doing this?" Zahrah couldn’t help but ask as she suppressed the searing pain coursing through her body at that moment. Whether from the dagger of her heart shattering from the betrayal, the pain was unbearable.

Pidi-pada. Pidi-pada.

Zara watching this, her tears were falling heavily on the ground and disappearing into thin air as if they were never shed at all.

This was the first time that she had seen the moment that had always bothered her. How did she die in her first life? And yet when she saw it right now, she was simply too shocked, as the process was so unpredictable and unexpected.

One second, Zahrah was waiting for a gift, and the other the two were in an embrace which made Zara feel relieved, thinking that she was just overthinking.

However, when the two were separating since they couldn’t hug for long, the unexpected happened.

Never in a million years did Zara, or even her first incarnation, though that the gift Walter brought for her was that lethal.

When separating, Walter revealed the wonderful gift he prepared for Zahrah and as soon as it appeared, Zara recognized it straight away; the dagger of suffering. And it was the present that he had been hiding behind his back.

She couldn’t even scream or warn Zahrah. She was like a spirit, the kind that can only be seen from Zahrah’s perspective.

So, by the time she realized what was going to happen, it was already too late as Walter decisively stabbed Zahrah. She was so shocked in place, that she was in a daze.

However, when she realized what had happened, the damage had already been done and the hate in Walter’s eyes was enough to make her wake up.

"I was the fool all along! Haha!" she couldn’t help but mockingly laugh at herself as she fell to the ground.

Not sure what kind of poison was laced in that dagger, but it made her feel weak. She didn’t even have any strength to do anything with her muscles.

With her on the ground, Walter lazily walked towards her. His every step sounding so heavy in her ears, heart and soul, Zahrah felt like a joke.

"I regret it! If I had known, hahaha," she laughed out loud, blood seeping from her mouth, ignoring Walter, who by now was crouching in front of her, his gaze no longer that she used to recognize even from a distance away.

Tilting his head to the side as he reached for her belly, Walter sarcastically responded, "Don’t you think that it’s too late for you to say that?" and pulled out the dagger.

"Ah~~~~~~" With the removal of the dagger, Zahrah screamed in pain as she fell to the ground, pulling herself into an eight as the excruciating pain coursing through her body intensified.

It was as if someone had opened the floodgates and all the water was flowing heavily towards the river. The identity was simply too strong and at that moment she understood one thing: she was going to die.

"You .... What did you do to me?" Zahrah asked fearfully, tears streaming down her cheeks as she looked at the man. She loved him so much that now she regretted being impulsive and a fool.

Walter rose to his feet as he wiped the dagger with his sleeve, a disgusted expression on his face, and answered, "We belong to different camps. Since you have been sabotaging our plans for a very long time. Don’t you think that you deserve this kind of ending?"

"You...."

"You won’t survive, Zahrah!" Walter coldly stated as he looked at her, all the familiarity gone from his eyes.

"W-what ... cough ... what do you mean?" Zahrah asked as she coughed out black blood, proof that she had been poisoned.

Walter went silent for a while before he answered, "Since you are going to die, I will do you one last favor and tell you how you are dying. It won’t be fun if you go not knowing!" a smirk on his face.

And hearing that, Zara wished dearly that she knew who this bastard was. As long as she knew who he was, she was going to skin him alive and make him regret staying with her.

Who knows if he was repeating the same antics and wanted to kill her again?

Unfortunately, Zahrah was an unfortunate saintess who happened to be the favorite ordained of the goddess of health who was part of the light faction.

Light and darkness had never been friends, and these two factions had been fighting with each other for goodness how long.

With the light faction getting stronger, it meant that the dark forces were losing, and that wasn’t something that they liked a lot.

The dark faction loved creating and causing chaos every time.

From causing plagues and disasters and bringing despair to the people, they love tormenting others.

This dark faction was also the culprit who brought that plague, which nearly killed Zahrah when she was still Phoebe.

Because the people from the temple of health healed her, she started believing in deities and ended up becoming a devout worshiper until she became a saintess in the end.

Because her faith was unwavering, she became a perfect vessel for the goodness of the light faction to be shown to the world.
