The Billionaire's Cursed Heiress -
Chapter 139: CONFESSION
Chapter 139: Chapter 139: CONFESSION
The blind seer was truly there to cause trouble for her. That’s what Zara realized as after arousing everyone’s curiosity, she politely left leaving a simple sentence.
’It’s better for the blessed child to say it herself!’
With such a statement left, how can Zara pretend as if she wasn’t aware of what was happening?
As a result, she now sat facing her parents, who were looking at her worriedly, their eyes filled with complications and it made her heart ache.
’It was meant to be revealed one way or the other!’ thinking about how she had tried her best to keep this secret even though it didn’t last four months, confessing was probably for the best.
At least she won’t have to stress herself all the time.
Taking a deep breath first, Zara opened her mouth as she fixatedly gazed at the two and said, "Mom and Dad! What I am about to tell you, it’s something a bit crazy. But o hope that you will remain calm, listen to what I will say and, in the end, I hope that you will support me wholeheartedly without question. Can you promise me that at least?" she asked, a hopeful gaze fixated on them.
These two were her parents and despite her unruliness, there were things that she couldn’t do without their permission. She might use tricks and threats, but would that help everyone in the end?
She no longer thinks so. Especially with everything that had been happening lately and adding to the fact that she had that dream, she even wanted to treat her family better.
When the two heard Zara, they had an inkling that the story wasn’t as simple as it may sound. That realization made them scared actually. They couldn’t help but hold each other’s hand, cheering each other.
After maintaining silence for a while, Lena opened her mouth and responded solemnly, "Okay, dear. We will listen and support you. So please, tell us what is going on? Help us understand!" her tone imploring.
As parents, they didn’t know what was happening to their child. All these years, they simply thought that their daughter was terminally ill and was one of the unfortunate souls to have been diagnosed with some unknown illness. But who would have guessed that it might not be the case, actually?
Although they had an inkling that Zara was hiding something, they were too afraid to ask. And after hearing that dream story, they even swore to never ask again. After all, what if the fairy gets angry and decides to stop helping their daughter? What would they do when such a thing happens?
They didn’t want to lose her after getting her back.
So, they were desperate right now. Whatever she wanted to be done, they would do it. As long as they know what is truly happening. Just hearing what the seer said, their daughter was blessed and no harm would befall her as long as she didn’t give up.
However, all these were like encrypted scripts they couldn’t decipher, no matter what. So having Zara decipher them for them was the only thing that they could hope for at this moment.
Zara, hearing her mother’s desperate voice, couldn’t help but feel her heart twinge, aching for the lies she had told them and the secrets she had kept. However, if she had confessed back then, would anyone believe her?
Nevertheless, things had changed now. With the blind seer’s certification, she didn’t have to worry about anything at all. All she needed to do was confess, and what better way to do so than starting from the beginning?
Zara took another deep breath as she interlaced her fingers, preparing herself for the long confession that awaited her. After sorting her thoughts out, she opened her mouth and started to confess slowly. After all, there was no need to hurry.
"It all started around March-April. One day, I suddenly had a strange dream. In fact, I thought I was dreaming, but everything was real.
There was this magical golden book which appeared in front of me, which in my case, I can consider being the fairy which had been helping me all these months. Through this book, I can ask any question related to my life. I could ask the book three questions and get the answers I seek. So that’s exactly what I did back then," looking melancholic, she said, recalling the time when the book first appeared.
The couple, hearing that, clasped their hands tighter without saying a word. However, their sweaty palms were enough to betray their current thoughts.
"Haha, you can imagine how shocked I was when that happened. However, on second thoughts, I was happy. At least the deities haven’t given up on me yet. With the book, I asked questions and got the most shocking ones!" with a wry smile on her face, her tone self-deprecating.
Zara’s words struck a chord in the couple’s hearts and they didn’t dare utter a single word despite their curiosity and just let Zara continue.
"I was curious about whether I was going to die or not!" saying that with gritted teeth, Zara’s eyes flashed with grief for a second as she continued. "Haha, so I asked the book, and this thing doesn’t know how to lie at all. It literally told me that I was dying. The seers and doctors haven’t lied at all. I was destined to never see my twenty-third birthday!" bursting into a self-deprecating laughter, Zara said as she looked at her parents.
Lena’s eyes at this moment were red and teary, as her hold on Cade had tightened and her body trembled.
Even Cade was finding it difficult to continue to listen. He could already imagine how scared she was when she got that answer. That was something that a person should never go through. If it was just doctors or seers, then a person might have some hope thinking that they saw wrong.
But something magical like this, they weren’t fools. There was no way that there would be a mistake.
