Chapter 120: BIRTHDAY BANQUET 4

Chapter 120: Chapter 120: BIRTHDAY BANQUET 4

Upon hearing that, the two grandparents looked worriedly at her before saying, "Darling. That would put pressure on your body. You don’t have to do that!" dissuading her from doing so.

However, could she just agree just because they weren’t feeling it?

"Grandpa and Grandma, I understand your worries, but there is no way I am entering that hall sitting in a wheelchair. Besides, walking for a short distance wouldn’t cause me harm! You can ask these two?" she said as she looked at Emma and Ava, who had once witnessed her walking.

The two ladies sighed dejectedly before nodding reluctantly at the two elders.

"She can at most walk and be on her feet for thirty minutes max. If it’s done more, then the risk of her being bedridden would return. So, letting her walk from here to the table wouldn’t be an issue!" with so much struggle, Ava answered.

The grandma, however, wasn’t buying it, so she said in refusal, "No way. We still can’t risk it. If anything were to happen then ...."

"Granny, please!!" seeing her grandmother not willing to budge, Zara was forced to attack the only way she knew would work, act cute.

"You ..." gritting her teeth, taken aback and speechless at how shameless her granddaughter had become in these years, she failed to say whatever she wanted to refute next.

"Grandma~~~~~ you promised me that you will agree with whatever I want today!" she said coquettishly. "Umph, or were you just lying to me? How can you do that?" before complaining as she lowered her head, looking wronged and dejected.

Seeing their granddaughter like that, despite knowing that they were being fooled, the two elders felt their heart aches. It was her day and letting her be sad after so many years of not celebrating. How could they let that happen?

The viewers who were eating melons watched something very interesting at that moment.

"Fine, do whatever you want. But after thirty minutes, you need to sit down. If you refuse, I will take you to the countryside!" agreeing and threatening her at the same time.

Zara ignored the last part and only recorded the first part. She beamed at the two elders and started twinkling in her eyes as her hands urged the people to start.

"I love you!"

That was how the viewers became the first people to see Zara transforming as if she were a butterfly breaking off a cocoon.

From being in a wheelchair, bundled strangely and unable to tell what was what to her standing on her feet, a miraculous encounter, thousands of her fans that moment celebrated since it was the first time, they had seen her like that.

After knowing her for nearly two months, they never heard about her walking or saw her walking. So, knowing that she could actually walk, although it was just for thirty minutes, how could they not celebrate?

Even the debates on how rich her family was were thrown to the side as all the chatter became of Zara’s standing up and walking.

It was only when the doors were opened that someone finally brought up what she was wearing, steering the topic in another direction.

Lena’s hands shook as Cade held her, his heart in turmoil, doing his best to control himself as he watched a miracle. Yes, it was a miracle and one which made him want to shed tears of joy, but the character he had forged for years just couldn’t allow him to.

But his wife was different. Her eyes were on her daughter, watching her walking down the aisle, her hands being held by her father- and mother-in-law. Walking baby steps and with a bright smile on her face, it took her great will to not faint with happiness.

"Baby is walking. Dear, am I hallucinating?"

Patting her hand in comfort, still digesting what he was seeing as well, he responded shakily, "We aren’t dreaming, honey. We aren’t dreaming!"

"That’s good, very good!"

Ashely wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes as she looked in disbelief as her baby sister walked into the hall.

Her mind kept on repeating, ’She is well. She is getting better. Fifth is not dying. She wasn’t joking!’ and she was in a joyful mood.

However, the other guests who didn’t know what was happening in Hansley’s household all these years and Zara’s current health condition were in awe of how small and beautiful she was.

Zara, at twenty-three years, looked very small compared to her peers. Standing at nearly 1.5m, definitely needed more nutrients to grow up, though it was thanks to the spiritual water which made her grow taller in the past three months, she was still short.

However, being small was another matter, but could anyone tell them what she was wearing?

Where did this princess come from?

"OMG! That’s ... how much is she wearing?" another person gasped, mumbling to herself as her mind did mental calculations.

"If I am not mistaken, she is wearing diamonds and alexandrite on her. Just how much did they fork out for this day?"

The guests couldn’t stop mumbling to each other as they recovered from the initial shock.

Zara wore the gift Amir sent to her. Even her mother thought that it was best if she dressed in what he gave her as that suited her the most than what she had prepared.

Zara didn’t object, since she loved Amir’s clothes. Seeing them, she felt as if she would become a real princess and that feeling felt great for her.

Besides, the clothes didn’t expose how thin she was. They covered all the flaws beautifully, leaving no room for people to point fingers at.

Walking steadily with the help of her grandparents, an action she was very grateful for since having anchors helped her a lot and saved her from the need to walk wobbly and exposing how sickly she was, she smiled brightly when she spotted her teary mother.

Zara didn’t tell her family about her ability to walk. She wanted to surprise them on his wonderful day. Gave them a wonderful present, and she was glad she shocked them pretty well. Even her mother was crying and looking at her father’s eyes. The man was probably emotional.

They have all given her presents. What better present for the family than letting them see that she was getting well?

Furthermore, she didn’t want her family to lose face. Getting into the hall with a wheelchair would get people to speculate about a lot of things, something that she didn’t want to see.

Although she was ready for the world to see her and acknowledge her, she didn’t want it to be at the expense of her family’s reputation.

Let her dazzle them with how pretty she looked, how expensive the clothes and jewelry she was wearing, let them see her walk and imprint a deep impression on them first.

Even if she spends the rest of the banquet in a wheelchair, it wouldn’t matter at all. That was the plan she made the second she saw her reflection in the mirror.

She wasn’t going to let everyone’s efforts go to waste. And seeing everyone’s reactions, she knew that she had betted well.

Whatever happens next, who cares, truly?
