Chapter 109: I AM SORRY

Chapter 109: Chapter 109: I AM SORRY

Gloria raised her head to look inquisitively at the two women standing a distance away, looking up to the roof as if they weren’t seeing or hearing the chaos in the room.

’What is happening?’ she was filled with so much curiosity.

From what she knew from the last time she came to the villa, these two were pretty close. So, what was happening, for Zara, whom she had barely seen being so angry at Quinn, to treat her brother like that?

She was so curious. Unfortunately, those two women seemed to be holding grudges against her and didn’t look her way.

Quinn collected himself after hearing how angry she had become just because he spent too long thinking about his actions without responding to her.

Looking at the three women, he knew that there was no way they were going to leave the room for him. Disturbing the message was a big NO, so he was left with no choice but to go over to her.

"Princess, it’s not like that. I was just thinking about how to convey what I am about to say to you properly. I am sorry, okay? I shouldn’t have acted as if I was ignoring you!" Quinn began to explain himself, coaxing her at the same time as he crouched in front of her so that even in her position, she could still see him.

Zara looked at the young man who had gone off the radar for a long time and didn’t even bother to contact her. Every time she tried to ask about him, these people would distract her until she forgot about the matter completely.

Just thinking about how everyone seemed very united in fooling her and keeping secrets from her, she was pissed off. He wasn’t like this before, so why was he acting strangely like that?

"Umph .... Don’t think that a few words can me forgive you!" she harrumphed at him, before turning her head the other way so that she wouldn’t see him.

"Come on, princess! I even brought you an early gift. Are you not going to talk to me?" pulling the best card he knew, Quinn said to her, his tone still coaxing.

Upon hearing that, Zara’s body flinched. She loved presents a lot. Everyone knew about that. Although she didn’t hold any birthday banquets in the past, the gifts always come. The fact that someone spends his or her time selecting something that he or she thinks she would love touched her a lot.

It didn’t matter if the gift was cheap or expensive. The thought behind the gift was what mattered to her.

However, how could she give in so easily after being ghosted for more than a week?

"Umph! I am not falling for that!" she mumbled, her voice very unconvincing.

Emma and Ava, seeing that, stifled their laughter while ignoring the still-curious Gloria.

"Princess, what if they are two?" Quinn attacked once again, but Zara’s hands only moved for a while before she shook her head.

In the end, Gloria watched as the number increased drastically until they reached twenty-three. It was only then that Zara turned her head to face Quinn with a smile on her face.

Gloria, seeing that, looked again at the two women but thankfully this time she got a response, at least in the sign of a shrug, which she automatically translated as ’That’s how it is!’

Shaking her head at that, she couldn’t help but feel her headache. Why was it complicated to coax a person?

However, the person who just earned herself twenty-three early gifts was in a great mood. This was the greatest move Quinn had ever made in her life, and it moved her so much that she cast away all the anger she had against him.

"Where are they?" that was her first question as soon as she faced him.

Seeing that bright smile, the twinkling eyes, and the familiar girl who loved gifts so much, Quinn’s heart finally settled down.

He was scared, scared that she might be so angry at him that no amount of apology or gifts would make her cool down. She was strong-headed at times, and a bit edgy, especially when her birthday was nearing. Offending her around that time would be the gravest mistake a person can make in his or her life.

So, being forgiven and seeing her smiling at him beautifully like she used to do, he felt relieved and happy.

It didn’t matter if she wasn’t going to pick him in the end. He might have lost and failed to get her love, but wasn’t he the person who was by her side now?

Without her approval, how could Amir see the light?

Thinking about Amir, he was suddenly happy.

"I will show them to you once you are done!" he said, smiling, his gaze never leaving hers.

Zara nodded smilingly, looking forward to seeing what he had brought for her.

In the next hour, Zara listened attentively, her eyes sparkling with interest as Quinn narrated his adventures during the time they were apart.

"I want to go too!" she said enviously after he told her about how he climbed a certain mountain and enjoyed the nature there.

And after seeing the photos and videos, her desire to go there was amplified.

"Then let’s get better first. I will take you there!" he said to her encouragingly, a reassuring smile on his face.

Zara at hearing that, a smile blossomed on her face before responding, "I will remember that. You are not allowed to reject me in the future!"

"The deities will strike me down if that happens!" he swore solemnly as he looked at her without batting an eye.

It was only after getting that promise did she let him go. Shortly the massage came to an end as well, which made Zara want to stand up and do a celebratory dance.

Unfortunately, with the way her body was aching, there was no way she would have any strength to do such things as that.

Quinn left the room since it was time to clean Zara up. after the cleaning and everything, Zara found herself bundled up in warm clothes and Quinn carried her to the bedroom where she was going to take an afternoon nap.

Looking at Zara, who was starting to doze off as soon as the machines were connected to her, Quinn placed his hand on her forehead to check her temperature.

"Your temperature is fine!" he murmured while looking at her and she forced a smile on her face, fighting the drowsiness.

"Just go and sleep. When you wake up, I will show you your presents, okay!" he said coaxingly while patting her as he used to do when she was a child.

Zara drowsily nodded before shutting her eyes.

’I love you Zara and I am sorry!’ he confessed inwardly before leaving the room with a sullen expression.
