THE BILLIONAIRE'S CRYBABY -
Chapter 205: RAT GAMES
Chapter 205: RAT GAMES
"You know it’s very rude of you to start a call by calling someone a bitch," Fay said, as she dropped to her bed in a sitting position.
"That’s exactly what you are. I woke up, and couldn’t find you, nor could I find my clothes."
Her smile broadened, as her thoughts zoomed into a little flashback.
When she had gotten ready to leave, a thought crossed her mind. She couldn’t have Ace thinking they were cool, just because she slept with him.
She had proceeded to pick up his clothes, and dumped them at the other side of the road, where she found the car.
The visual representation of him standing naked by the side of the road, was enough to send her into the realms of laughter.
"Maybe you just didn’t search well," she said in a bored tone.
"Or maybe you moved my clothes, made me walk naked to the road, only to find my car gone. You didn’t even have the decency to leave my phone somewhere I could find it!"
She could hear the anger in his voice, and it sounded like music to her ears.
"How exactly did you leave that spot? Don’t tell me a car stopped by, and saw you naked?" She asked, very close to bursting out in laughter.
"That’s none of your business. It’s my fault for being nice to you. Return my car, or I’ll come collect it myself."
"I already informed the authorities about your unwelcome presence in my house. If you do come, you’ll be risking jail."
He hissed long, and loudly. "I don’t give a fuck about the authorities. You both can burn in hell for all I care. Return my car, and my phone."
"That won’t be happening. Goodbye Mr Ace Atticus."
She ended the call, and broke into a chuckle. Her revenge fantasies were tinkling again.
What she would do to see that the media had captured a naked Ace, walking through a lonely road. Now that would be one heck of a story.
She rose to her feet, and was going to find her daughter, when her phone rang again.
"What?" She asked, after she answered the call.
"It’s Alice, ma’am," she heard her personal assistant say.
"What can I do for you?"
"The governor has just fixed an emergency meeting. It’s slated for this evening. Should I confirm your presence?"
Her heart skipped a beat, because the first thing she thought about was the probability of Ace, and Xylon being present.
She had her reservations about those two being in the same room with her, for two very different, but substantial reasons.
"Do I have a choice? I made a commitment, and have to see it to the end. Confirm my presence please."
She ended the call, and let out a tired sigh. Walking up to her dressing table, she stared at her reflection through the mirrors that adorned a large chunk of the wall.
"Don’t lose the plot, Fay," she whispered to herself, as she nodded confidently.
Evening came, and Fay walked into the living room holding Dream’s hand.
"Mum, can’t I go with you?" The little girl pouted pitifully.
"Oh honey," Fay bent to the ground, so she was levelled with her. "I wish you could. But I already explained where I’m headed is no place for children."
"Fine. But I want a gift when you return."
"Anything for my baby."
She pressed her nose like it was a button, then placed a kiss on her cheeks.
"Be a good girl, alright? Don’t stress pawpaw."
"I won’t!"
She waved her goodbye, and walked out of the house to see Seth waiting by her car.
"You’re going to drive yourself?" He asked.
"I think it’s better that way," she replied. "For now," she added, to reassure him.
"I just want you to be safe, Fay. I can’t lose you again."
She gave him a genuine smile. "I get that, and I’ll be fine. I promise."
He kissed her forehead, and stepped out of the way for her to go into the car.
As she drove past the gate, she honked to acknowledge him one more time.
With one eye on the road, the other eye scanned through the documents Alice had sent her the Friday that just passed.
She thought she had gone through everything on her table, but on second glance at this document, realised why she was only just seeing it.
The documents were a compilation of the result from the investigation she had going on in Spades.
From what she could see, Spades was in serious financial trouble.
The second her eyes skimmed through that part, she almost lost control of the steering.
Her full attention returned to the road, as she manipulated the car into its proper position again.
"Wow!" She blurted, returning half her gaze to the laptop screen.
Apparently, there was a deal gone horribly bad.
But it had nothing to do with Ace’s discernment, from what she could see.
It was all a setup. Perfectly set up by Celine Atticus.
"To what end?" She questioned herself, and just as instantly, a glimmer of light shone in her eyes.
"It totally has something to do with the press threat. They leak this, and Ace is done for," she muttered.
"Then leak it. Allow them to leak it. Isn’t that what you’ve always wanted? To get vengeance on Ace?" A voice in her head asked.
"But wouldn’t that just be indirectly helping, Celine? I can’t help Celine Atticus. It would be easier if I could just take both of them dow—"
A crazy idea emerged from her brain, just before she could complete those words.
There was indeed a way to destroy both Ace, and Celine.
Best part of it was that they absolutely would not see her coming.
She made it to the site of the meeting in one piece.
Grabbing her laptop, she stepped down from the car, and continued ahead to the entrance of the building.
She showed her ID card she had been sent within the week, and was verified to go in.
"You’re early today, Miss Fay. I like a woman who keeps to time."
She didn’t need to look beside her, to know it was Xylon talking.
"You still use that fragrance? You must not like it," she said.
He smiled wildly. "I’m glad you remember I bought the perfume I’m wearing from you. And I couldn’t finish it, because then I wouldn’t have something connecting me to you. But now you’re back, I can just use it up, and get more directly from you."
"And what makes you think I’ll make any for you?" She asked, just as the elevator doors opened for them to go through.
"I just have a feeling, I guess. Especially since we’d be working together for your fragrance line."
She sighed, and finally looked at him.
"You know, I’ve been thinking. Perhaps, it was a mistake to seek you out for my business. Maybe we should forget—"
He turned to her, and placed a silencing finger on her lips.
"Don’t do that, Fay. If you’re uncomfortable about me liking you, I could keep that out of our business. But I would love to do business with you."
The elevator stopped, and its doors opened at the same time the adjacent elevator opened.
Behold, Ace and Landon were inside the opposite elevator.
Ace’s eyes went to Xylon leaning a little too close to Fay, whilst his finger rested on her lips.
"You sure do move fast," he said, stepping out of the elevator.
"Or you’re just slow? Don’t worry, it shows in every aspect of your life," she fired back, as she pulled away from Xylon’s hold, and walked ahead of the boys.
Her hips swayed from side to side, as she walked.
All three boys couldn’t keep their eyes off her body, as they monitored her from behind.
"Wow," Ace whispered in his mind, because he couldn’t believe he saw all of that in the flesh just last night.
It was the only thing he could think of. The fact she had left him in such a disgraceful position didn’t even matter anymore.
His obsession with Fay was returning, faster than his hatred for her had lasted.
Fay walked into the room, and took her seat, right beside the governor.
"Thank you for showing up," the governor said.
She smiled at him, and nodded her head in appreciation.
The boys came in just then, and they all took their seats too.
Soon the room was filled up, and the governor stood up to address everyone.
"I want to thank you all for making it to another impromptu meeting. I—"
Landon’s eyes went to the TV screen, beyond the governor.
It was silent, but there was breaking news that caught his attention.
His heart leaped to his mouth, when pictures began to roll.
"Is that Ace Atticus?" one of the members asked, before he could warn Ace.
All eyes went straight to the television. Fay smirked when the blurred nakedness of Ace Atticus popped up on screen.
She felt his burning stare on her, and turned to face him.
"I hate you," she mouthed to him, the smirk never leaving her face.
