THE BILLIONAIRE'S CRYBABY -
Chapter 129: CRAVE ME
Chapter 129: CRAVE ME
Reality hit him like a brick. Spinning, he hurried out of the room in chase of Fay.
He caught a hold of her just before she could close the door. Pushing himself into the room, he backed up against the door that had closed with a force, and drew her to his body.
"You’re not going anywhere!" He yelled. "We’ll have to talk about this once and for all."
"Talk about what?!" She questioned with a heaving chest, as she dragged her body away from him.
"About what you think you saw. Me kissing a girl."
She whipped her head behind, and scoffed in disbelief. "It’s one thing to lie, and another to lie so brazenly. What does it even matter? Why don’t you just leave me alone?" She asked in a lower tone.
She had gone off more than she ever expected she could. The after effect just started to tell on her. Weariness, exhaustion and a big need to immerse herself in water.
But even that thought was enough to frighten her. The last time she touched water in a state like this, she spent what seemed like a lifetime in the hospital.
"I haven’t lied once to you. I don’t plan on doing that tonight. What you saw wasn’t what you thought it was. Sure there was a kiss, but Makayla kissed me."
She laughed bitterly, shaking her head all over the place as she did. He really did take her for a fool. It wasn’t totally his fault. She had been the biggest fool of the century.
Easily gaslighted. Made to feel stupid for the things she knew deep down were right. Yeah, she had to be the donkey of the century. But not anymore. Not tonight. Not going forward. Whatever cheque anyone had made from her stupidity would fail soon, if they continued to bank on it.
"What does it matter who kissed who? You didn’t look in a hurry to remove yourself from the situation. I dare say you were enjoying yourself. And for you to come accuse me of doing the thing you did? That’s low and dirty, Ace."
"And I’m sorry about that," he took a step forward, and she took one backwards. "I understand how you feel, trust me I do. I shouldn’t have accused you, but I’m really not lying. Makayla kissed me!" His forehead creased from the desperation that rose from his depth, as he craved her belief in him..
"It doesn’t change anything. It’s Makayla, or Reign, or some other blonde. There’s always a woman. I can’t keep up. I don’t want to keep up."
She took purposeful steps towards her bed, and he dragged her back again. Wrapping his hand around her waist, he pulled her into his body.
"Why are you mad? If our marriage is not even real, then why are you so mad about the women I kiss?" he asked, breathing down on her face.
"Let me go!" She demanded.
"Not until you answer my question. Why are you so bothered about the women I keep? If I’m such a manwhore, and you don’t care about this marriage, why are you invested?"
His eyes went to her lips, and trailed down to her neck. Two places he would love nothing more than to kiss until they formed a scar that was evidence of his passion.
"I don’t care. That’s what I’ve tried to tell you. You can do whatever you want, Ace Atticus. I have no concern. The only problem I have is when you project on me. I could never allow another man to touch me."
His heart lurched, catching the exact moment those words left her lips. She had no idea what she had done with just nine words.
She had sealed his desire for her. He knew now he was damned. That till the day he left the earth, he would crave her. And if he couldn’t have her, he couldn’t have peace.
"Fay," her name left his lips in the sound of a worship, because he wanted to worship her. He pulled her closer, but she stilled herself against him.
"Leave me alone." Her eyes moistened.
She truly hated him. She hated how her body radiated with the heat his body caused. Every part of her body drew to him like he was magnetic. None of this was fair on her part.
These were real feelings she didn’t understand. What she did understand was Ace was playing with her again. It was all a game to him. He would make her drop her guards down, only to screw with her heart.
At least, he had gotten one thing right. She didn’t have any rights over him. They were not really married. It was all a show.
"I can’t Fay. I don’t know what it is, but I can’t just let you go. Do you understand me?" He massaged her waist gently.
She felt his touch right in her core. Her thighs wanted nothing more than to squeeze together, but caught between his legs, they could only trap in moisture forming quickly.
"No, you’re a liar. You want Reign, Makayla, and the other women. I have nothing to offer you. I’m nothing to you. Please leave me a-lone." Her voice broke as desperate tears stuck in her eyes.
She promised herself she wouldn’t cry in his presence anymore. But never the one to keep any promise she makes to herself, she wondered if this one would hold.
God knows she wanted to let it all out. She was drained. As much as she was attracted to Ace, he drained her. He made her confused. He was her biggest enigma yet, because she just couldn’t figure what it was about him that made her unstable.
His hand rose to her back, and he stroked them gently. "You’re not nothing to me. You’re my wife. Don’t you understand that? You’re my wife," he repeated.
"Another lie. We’re not truly married. It’s just a facade. Let’s stop deceiving ourselves and drop the ac—"
His lips crashed down on hers, silencing her before she could complete her rant.
He kissed her until her lips got sore. Only then did he pull away. As their breaths came out harsh and uneven, their eyes locked.
She wanted him. She couldn’t continue to deny it. But not this way. Not when she wanted him more. Until she brought him to the point where he craved her. Where he couldn’t live without her, this would never work.
"Let go, Ace," she said to his surprise.
His eyes widened and returned to normal in quick succession. He had expected that kiss to shut her up. To make her feel the same desire he felt. Maybe he was wrong. Maybe he was the only one that was consumed by the fire in his groin.
"Why?"
"Because I’m not a fool. You’re not going to continuously fool me with your kisses. If other women can have it, they mean nothing to me."
His grip on her loosened as he felt her subtle jab directly in his heart. Using that opportunity, she walked out of his hold, and went to the bed. Dropping on it, she placed her head on her palm.
She didn’t move out of that position until she heard the door close. When she lifted her head, there were heavy tears streaming down her face.
It had happened. She had finally been strong enough to resist him. So why did she feel like she had taken a loss? She should be ecstatic, dancing for joy that his power over her was waning. Yet here she was, crying as if her heart had been plunged out of her chest and squished until it burst into a pool of blood.
She felt empty. Like she was nothing without him. And what if she wasn’t? How then could she carry out this task that weighed so heavily in her heart?
Behind her door, Ace stood, hearing her cry. He wanted to return, and grab her into his arms. Tell her how sorry he was for not putting her into consideration all this while. He wanted her to know that these women she was so threatened by paled in comparison to her.
And more importantly, to tell her that she was the one he wanted. No one else. It had taken him this long to realise it, but he didn’t want to continue for long without her knowing what he knew.
If he had to, he would give her the world so she could believe him. But he knew it was the little things that mattered the most to her.
If he was going to penetrate that shield she had successfully built around her heart, thanks to his constant screw up, his actions needed to back his words.
It wasn’t going to be an easy road, but he was Ace Atticus, and there was no battle he couldn’t win.
"I could never allow another man to touch me."
Those words directly from her lips gave him the fuel he needed to step away from her door, and walk to his room.
She would be his; his stupidity and nark for finding himself in awkward situations be damned!
