Chapter 288: Revised: Chapter 287

"Why are you back? Didn’t mom tell your teacher that Uncle Hodges was going to pick you up?"

Ivy River saw the two kids come back and greeted them warmly. Then she looked at her phone and said with confusion, "My phone didn’t ring. So strange."

Fatty ignored her and walked straight toward Edwin Blake.

Emmy said in her childish voice, "He contacted the principal. The principal and Teacher Eulalie said they knew me. He also brought out photos from today’s competition and gave us a gift, but the gift was for you, mom."

"And you just followed him back?"

Ivy River’s face showed some anger.

"No, sis-in-law! Emmy didn’t explain clearly. I called you, but you didn’t answer. So, I contacted the principal. The principal drove them back all the way..."

Alexander Hodges was extremely emotional and pointed to the principal standing downstairs, shouting angrily.

Ivy River looked over and it was indeed the principal.

She quickly went downstairs, a bit embarrassed. "Principal, I’m sorry, I was busy just now and missed the call."

The principal waved his hand. "It’s okay, it’s my duty. Mainly, I wasn’t comfortable letting him take the kids. He doesn’t look very trustworthy."

"No worries, no worries. Thank you for your trouble today. I’m sorry." Ivy River said and glared at Alexander Hodges.

Alexander Hodges felt very wronged. "Sis-in-law, do you know? The principal wouldn’t even let the little ones ride in my car. Do I look like a kidnapper? Is there a need to guard against me like this?!"

The principal whispered, "Better safe than sorry. It’s not that I don’t trust you, but if something happens to the kids, what would I do when Mother River comes after me?"

"Principal, Edwin Blake and I are brothers! How could you think of me like that?"

"Even brothers can have falling-outs..."

Ivy River saw that the two were about to argue, "Alexander Hodges, shut up. Principal, you can leave now. Sorry for the trouble."

The principal said as he was leaving, "Alexander, you need to adjust your temper. The first time I saw you, I thought you were here to kidnap the kids and take revenge on Edwin."

Alexander Hodges was furious.

Just as he was about to shout, he saw Ivy River’s murderous glare.

After seeing the principal off.

Ivy River said coldly, "Can you not make a fuss? You already don’t look like a good person. Of course, the teacher would be worried if you go to pick up the kids."

Alexander Hodges: "..."

"Mom! Mom, come up here!" Emmy’s voice suddenly called out, "Hurry, mom. Vincent is about to fight with the jerk!"

Ivy River and Alexander Hodges exchanged glances and both ran upstairs.

Inside the room.

Fatty was sitting on the bed, stopping Edwin Blake’s movements.

"You, get out of my house. This is my room. Why are you touching my things?"

Edwin Blake said coldly, "What secret do you have under the bed? And your mom asked me to check. I didn’t break in by myself. Be reasonable, okay?"

"You’re definitely lying. Leave now. Don’t test my patience!"

Fatty stood up from the bed, angrily glaring at Edwin Blake.

Ivy River felt her forehead darken. "Vincent, what are you doing!"

"Mom, this is a matter between men. It has nothing to do with you, so stay out of it."

Edwin Blake impatiently said, "Ivy River, can you get him away? I need to see what’s under the bed that he doesn’t want me to see."

Ivy River said gently, "Son, come to mom. What’s the big deal about under the bed, let him see."

"No means no, mom! It’s my personal privacy. You need my permission to look!"

Fatty said seriously.

Edwin Blake completely lost his patience. He grabbed Fatty and put him directly on the floor.

Then he lifted Fatty’s bed.

When he saw what was under it, he burst into laughter.

"Ivy River, looks like I don’t need to move out."

Ivy River felt a bad premonition.

Fatty started to panic, "Edwin Blake! You have no honor. I’m calling the police on you. You didn’t get my permission to take apart my stuff. That’s disgraceful! Disgraceful!"

"And you stealing my photos isn’t disgraceful?" Edwin Blake retorted.

Alexander Hodges came over for a look and was shocked, "Fatty, why are you hiding photos of your aunt under the bed?"

Fatty looked at Alexander Hodges with a resentful expression.

Alexander Hodges panicked and looked at Edwin Blake, confused, "Bro, what’s going on? I didn’t do anything wrong, why is my nephew looking at me like this?"

Edwin Blake was in a great mood, "Ivy River, I don’t need to move out now, right?"

Ivy River came over to look and her mood instantly plummeted.

She said directly, "Fine, you don’t need to move out. But can you leave my house now?"

Edwin Blake looked at Ivy River leisurely, "Don’t you have anything to tell me?"

"What? What could I possibly say to you? I told you from the beginning, if there really is something, you can discuss it with Fatty. It’s between you two. It’s not my business."

After saying that, Ivy River left, leading Emmy with her, "Come on, let’s go downstairs and watch some TV."

Alexander Hodges felt the atmosphere was a bit off.

He hurriedly said, "Bro, I’ll go see what sis is making for dinner. I’ll join you guys. If you want to eat, I’ll ask her to make more."

Edwin Blake said coldly, "Get lost."

After Alexander Hodges left, Fatty said, "What do you want to do? Don’t think you can blackmail me just because you found my mom’s photos."

"It’s fine. Your mom knows you went to my house. This just proves that you stole my things, she didn’t believe me before. Now there’s evidence." Edwin Blake said nonchalantly.

But in Fatty’s ears, it was pure bragging and ridicule.

"I already told you to come to my house. Now you’re bringing my mom here. What are you up to?"

"Nothing, just proving myself. Otherwise, your mom would get jealous, thinking I deliberately didn’t hang her pictures. You’re a kid, you don’t understand."

Fatty stood on a stool and pointed at Edwin Blake, "My mom has nothing to do with you. Don’t claim kinship!"

"I told you, you’re a kid. You don’t understand the adult world. How do you think you and your sister came to be if not for the love between your mom and me? Your mom got jealous because there were fewer photos of her, so I had to prove my innocence!"

"What’s mom jealous of?"

"She thinks the house lacks her photos. You wouldn’t understand. This house is a one-to-one replica of our previous marital home." Edwin Blake said this with a boastful tone.

Fatty shouted angrily, "What does this have to do with your previous marital home!"

"It has everything to do with it. It shows my love for your mom. If I didn’t love her, why would I recreate our previous home? But without her photos, she would doubt me. Women’s rampant suspicion is something a kid like you wouldn’t understand."

Fatty sneered, "My mom often says, if you have something wrong with your brain, you should go get it checked..."
