Chapter 245: Revised: Chapter 244

Edwin Blake’s voice came through; he didn’t know when he had stood at the door, with a smile on his lips looking at Ivy River.

Ivy River’s heart jolted, she immediately hung up the video conference call and closed her laptop.

Looking at the old and young at the door, she was at a loss.

It was Old Lady Blake who reacted first, directly raising the items in her hand, excitedly walking towards Ivy River, "Ivy! Look what Grandma brought you to eat!"

Ivy River looked at the Golden Jade Pavilion’s packaging bag, stood up to greet her, "Seafood porridge?"

"That’s right!" Old Lady Blake casually placed the porridge in Edwin Blake’s hand and then held Ivy River’s hand, walking out, "You’ve lost weight; is the hospital busy?"

"Not too busy. I signed a nine-to-five agreement with the Medical University, so I won’t be too tired."

Old Lady Blake nodded, praising, "That’s the way it should be; your body is your own, you must take good care of yourself."

As Ivy River passed Edwin Blake, she glanced at him.

His expression was filled with subtle mockery.

Seeing this made Ivy River angry, inadvertently she kicked him hard on the calf.

Edwin Blake groaned, "Ivy River!"

Old Lady Blake immediately turned her head, "What’s wrong? Why call him? If there’s nothing, you can leave, don’t stay in Ivy’s house; looking at you irritates me."

Edwin Blake listened to the full sense of disdain and simply leaned against the wall, "Grandma, don’t forget, it was I who opened the door; you weren’t talking like this when you came in just now."

"Yes, now I’m inside, but just now, I wasn’t, so I had expectations of you. Now, I see the person I most wanted to see; who do you think you are?"

Old Lady Blake said rudely.

Edwin Blake’s eyes widened, he couldn’t believe such words could come from his grandma!

He directly walked in front of them, angrily pulling out a chair at the dining table, sitting in front of them.

"Grandma, please tell me, who is your real grandchild, me or Ivy River?"

Old Lady Blake glanced at him, then turned to look at Ivy River.

But the expression in her eyes was different.

One filled with affection, the other filled with contempt.

Edwin Blake immediately interrupted, "I’ll go out for a smoke."

The result was already obvious.

He didn’t want to make himself unhappy.

After seeing him go out, Ivy River lightly spoke, "Grandma, next time don’t climb walls; what if you hurt yourself then it would be troublesome for me."

"I didn’t climb the wall; Edwin Blake came here for such trivial things, he climbed the wall and then opened the door for me."

Old Lady Blake spoke confidently.

Ivy River was speechless, "Then why not call me to let me open the door, obviously there is a front door to walk through, why choose to climb the wall?"

Old Lady Blake laughed, "It’s okay, if he wants to climb, let him; if he falls, it’s him, nothing to do with us."

"Then it would still be my trouble!"

Ivy River complained; she turned and started drinking the porridge.

Seeing her child-like manner, Old Lady Blake was very happy; she reached out and pushed back the hair off Ivy River’s forehead, "Eat slowly, it’s all yours, no hurry."

"Why did you come to see me, Grandma?"

While drinking porridge, Ivy River couldn’t help but inquire, "I was just thinking of calling you to go to the old house in the afternoon to spend some time, but then you appeared in my house."

"I was afraid you were busy, and we went to eat at Golden Jade Pavilion. I thought you’d be busy at home and might not have time to eat, so I brought you some porridge. How does it taste? Do you like it?"

Ivy River nodded heavily, "Delicious, exactly the same taste as before! Indeed, the ratio I had earlier was right; otherwise, it wouldn’t taste as good."

"How narcissistic you are! It’s the ratio you mixed, but it depends on the chef’s skills; without that, do you think you’d get such good porridge?"

Edwin Blake didn’t know when he returned, standing behind and speaking coolly.

Before Ivy River could speak, Old Lady Blake directly said, "Edwin Blake, drop Harry Ross for me, you can leave."

Leaning against the wall lazily, Edwin Blake replied, "Grandma, you really discard tired horses; now that you don’t need me."

"Quickly get out of my house; don’t wander before me, I find you annoying."

Ivy River promptly said.

Edwin Blake snorted coldly, "I’m not leaving; now I need to have a meeting, I’ll use your study."

"No."

Ivy River couldn’t stop him in time, Edwin Blake had already headed to the study.

She immediately put down her chopsticks and ran towards the study.

"Edwin Blake, go upstairs to Fatty’s room; my study is off-limits to you."

Edwin Blake said, "Is there something in the study you don’t want me to see?"

"None of your business, now hurry upstairs; otherwise, get out of my house!"

Unbothered, Edwin Blake said, "What if I insist on going in?"

"Ha, you can try."

Ivy River put down her arms, even left a crack open in the door for Edwin Blake, "Go ahead."

Edwin Blake didn’t move, instead stood at the door, staring at Ivy River with a smile.

The smile was unfathomable.

Ivy River was no less, she directly gave Edwin Blake a provocative smirk, "President Blake, if you don’t want to go in, then please leave, this is my house, thank you."

Edwin Blake nodded, and suddenly leaned down, whispering into Ivy River’s ear, "Ivy, you don’t want me inside because you are worried I’d discover your secret? Why did you plan to go to Phoenix City, you haven’t explained yet."

Ivy River froze, her ears burning hot.

When she looked up and saw the faint smile at the corner of Edwin Blake’s lips, she reacted, her face flushing, she pushed Edwin Blake away, "Why I go to Phoenix City has nothing to do with you."

"If you go to Phoenix City, who’ll take care of the child? You must contact me then to establish a father-daughter relationship?"

Ivy River frowned at this self-absorbed man before her, "Rest assured, even if I go on a business trip, I won’t let you mind the child."

Ridiculous!

Edwin Blake was thinking of lofty stuff.

Edwin Blake narrowed his eyes, "I am the child’s father."

"My child has no father; he died long ago, and doesn’t need a stepfather either, I told you this before, why don’t you take it seriously?"

Ivy River retorted, then continued to chase him out, "Edwin Blake, will you leave or not?"

Old Lady Blake saw the situation escalating, and quickly said, "Edwin, go back to your own house, don’t stay here anymore, quickly leave."

Edwin Blake curled his lips into a cold smile, turned and left.

After seeing him walk out the door, Ivy River locked the study, carefully hiding the key on herself as she returned to the dining table.

"Grandma, thank you."

Old Lady Blake laughed, "I don’t want to see that brat either."

Ivy River smiled and continued eating the porridge.

She genuinely liked Old Lady Blake, and Grandma truly cared for her.

Sometimes, she felt Grandma treated her even better than Edwin Blake.

But she knew, there was no going back with Edwin Blake.

Half an hour later.

Ivy River answered a phone call and opened the door, the construction workers began to enter.

She pointed at the backyard wall, "Guys, please make this wall higher and more solid, the neighbors have moved in."

The worker replied cheerfully, "Got it! Our work quality is top-notch; even a typhoon can’t knock it down!"

"Okay, thank you then."

After saying this, Ivy River glanced disdainfully at the neighboring villa, sneered, and went back inside the house.

Edwin Blake stood by the window, his face dark, watching everything coldly.
