Chapter 244: After modification: Chapter 243

Old Lady Blake spoke bluntly.

Edwin Blake’s face turned slightly red, and he argued, "Grandma, how can you say that!"

"I’m speaking the truth. If you were capable, I wouldn’t be worried!" Old Lady Blake said with exasperation.

Edwin said nothing.

He thought to himself, how do you know I haven’t tricked someone into bed?

Not only did he trick someone, but twice!

But he didn’t dare to say that aloud. Once said, his grandma would only escalate things further.

Old Lady Blake sighed and started nagging Edwin again, "Edwin, if you manage to get Ivy back, it’d be a miracle!"

Edwin replied without any sincerity, "Oh, I’ll try my best. Can Harry get in the car now?"

Old Lady Blake scolded furiously, "Where is Harry? Hasn’t he come back yet? Do you dislike listening to me that much?"

Edwin didn’t say much, he simply opened the car door.

Harry Ross, standing by the car, forced a smile, not daring to speak or even breathe heavily.

The conversation between the two just now was so intense that it had left him stunned.

Old Lady Blake awkwardly tidied her hair, "When did you get back?"

Harry quickly said in a low voice, "Just now, Madam."

Edwin glanced at him and said nothing.

Old Lady Blake said directly, "Then let’s drive."

"Where to?" Edwin asked deliberately.

"Where to? How did you initially promise me? Edwin Blake, you can’t seriously not know?!" Old Lady Blake stared at Edwin in disbelief, "Are you trying to drive me mad?"

Edwin chuckled, "Harry, drive to my house, let’s go."

Harry agreed and quickly got into the car to start it.

These words infuriated Old Lady Blake, and she sputtered, "Harry, Harry, we can’t go to Edwin’s house. Do you know where Ivy lives now? I want to find Ivy!"

Harry looked at their president through the rearview mirror and saw a mischievous smile on his lips, clearly understanding everything.

No matter what Old Lady Blake said, he remained silent.

Old Lady Blake grew anxious, "No, you all ignore me, then I will call Ivy right now. Stop the car, pull over!"

Edwin spoke lazily, "Keep driving."

"Edwin Blake!"

Seeing that his grandma was thoroughly angry, Edwin decided not to tease her anymore, "We are on the way to Ivy’s house, but I’m not sure if she is home today. I just know she didn’t go to work today."

"Humph, I don’t believe your nonsense."

As she spoke, Old Lady Blake had already dialed Ivy’s number.

It was so fast that Edwin couldn’t stop her in time. He looked at his grandma with displeasure.

Thinking to himself, if she runs away, that’s on you!

The call connected quickly.

Ivy River’s voice came through, "Hello? Is that you, Grandma?"

Old Lady Blake answered excitedly, "Yes, yes, Ivy, where are you now? I miss you!"

"Grandma, you went for a check-up today, didn’t you? I’ve taken the day off and am at home. I don’t have time to go to the hospital today, but I’ll check the results for you tomorrow. I didn’t arrange for any CT or radiology today."

"Good, good, whatever you arrange is fine. Grandma will do as you say. When do you have time? I want to go out and eat with you!"

Ivy checked the time, "These days, I’ll make some time in the evenings to bring Fatty and Emmy to see you at home, okay?"

Hearing that Ivy was at home, Edwin impatiently wanted to hang up the phone.

Afraid that his grandma might say something she shouldn’t.

Old Lady Blake reluctantly said, "But I want to see you now. It’s been so long, Ivy!"

"Grandma, I’m a bit busy right now. How about I check the time later?"

Just as Old Lady Blake was about to speak, Edwin directly took the phone and muted it.

He said urgently, "Grandma, I’ll take you to see her now. Don’t alert her, or if Ivy runs away and isn’t home, don’t blame me."

"Really?"

Edwin said solemnly, "Really!"

Old Lady Blake pursed her lips and unmuted the phone, "Alright Ivy, busy yourself first, we’ll talk later."

"Okay, I think it just ended not too long ago, on my way home, right?"

"Yes."

"Alright, then rest well, and I’ll call you when I have time, don’t be mad~"

Old Lady Blake snorted lightly, "Okay, your health is important too. Hang up and hurry up."

"Okay, I know you’re the best, Grandma~"

After Ivy finished speaking, she hung up the phone.

Old Lady Blake immediately scolded Edwin, "If I don’t see Ivy today, I will sever our relationship!"

Edwin responded indifferently, "Okay."

The car first stopped at Golden Jade Pavilion.

"What are you doing?" Old Lady Blake was very angry.

Edwin explained, "First, have some food, then I’ll buy some seafood porridge for Ivy to take home."

Old Lady Blake snorted coldly, "At least you have some sense, remembering that Ivy loves this place’s seafood porridge."

After speaking, she ignored Edwin and went inside to eat on her own.

...

Ivy was busy in the study at home.

She had no idea what was about to happen.

She was having a video conference with Noah Wilson.

With a serious tone, Noah said, "The mission here is complete. I found Thalia Anderson’s identity. Her purpose for returning to the country is unclear, but her overseas assets haven’t been moved back. She likely plans to go abroad again."

"Alright, I found the same over here. Is her background clean?"

"Quite clean, it seems after her child’s disappearance, she changed her ways, got rid of all shady businesses, and went abroad to start anew."

Ivy thought for a moment, then said coldly, "Got it. Do you know the buyer’s name?"

"Yes!" Noah sounded excited upon hearing this, shedding the earlier gloom, "Do you know where the buyer wants you for the treatment?"

"It’s not Seaton, right?"

Noah rolled his eyes at her, "What Seaton? There’s no such coincidence. It’s in Phoenix City, within the country! They will provide all the medical equipment."

Hearing Phoenix City, Ivy instinctively frowned, "Do you know the client’s name?"

"They said we should contact Old Nine directly when we arrive. This Old Nine has a notable reputation."

Noah got enthusiastic, "Old Nine was once incarcerated, and after his release, he turned over a new leaf, creating his own company. It’s not huge but quite reputable. You’ve probably heard of NS Security."

Ivy nodded, "I’m aware. We’ve used NS before, but Grace Foster and Leon Peterson dealt with them."

"Yes, that’s the one. They said to contact Old Nine when we get there. Being the top dog of NS, he might help us with a discount on security costs."

Noah’s eyes sparkled at the thought of saving money.

Ivy said coldly, interrupting her thoughts, "Don’t mention that. The public doesn’t know Ayla and Lynn are the same person. You’d better discuss Dark Web business, but it’s unnecessary since we rarely need NS for jobs."

Noah nodded, "True, my combat skills are top-notch! With domestic security, I’ll handle it myself when we return."

"As long as you understand." Ivy contemplated for a bit, "Contact Old Nine, confirm the time and inform me so I can book a flight to Phoenix City in advance."

"Got it."

Noah had just finished speaking when an icy voice came from the door.

"Why are you going to Phoenix City?"
