Chapter 240: Revised: Chapter 239 The Black-clad Bodyguard Attacks Again

"My brother fed me dog food, and now you, with your unrequited love, are feeding me more dog food. I’m going to find my sister-in-law to deal with you. I’m furious!"

Alexander Hodges cursed in the car for a full ten minutes before he finally stepped into the Blake Clan Group building.

Harry Ross saw him and intercepted him, "President Hodges, our president’s mood isn’t great right now. Are you sure you want to go in?"

"Not great? How bad can it be? He was feeding me dog food downstairs just now, and now his mood is off?"

Alexander ignored him and pushed open the office door with a cheeky grin.

"Bro! Harry says you’re in a bad mood. What’s up?"

A folder came flying toward him from Edwin Blake.

Frightened, Alexander stepped back and quickly shut the door.

He turned around to see Harry spreading his hands helplessly, as if to say, "I told you, but you wouldn’t listen."

Alexander gritted his teeth, "Why didn’t you stop me when I opened the door!"

"President Hodges, you were too fast. I had no chance."

Harry smiled apologetically.

He actually knew Alexander’s temperament well. Unless he hit wall, he wouldn’t give up.

So he simply let him get the shock, hoping he wouldn’t act so foolish next time.

Alexander asked, "Do you know why he’s in a bad mood?"

"It seems Madam blocked him or something, and the health check-up scheduled for tomorrow was apparently booked mistakenly for the Old Lady instead. The hospital messed it up... I don’t know the specifics, but everything was fine until..."

Harry hadn’t finished his sentence.

Alexander chuckled, "I said downstairs that my sister-in-law should give him a lesson, and I didn’t expect retribution to come so soon."

Harry glanced at him and remained silent.

Alexander continued, "Schedule a health check-up for my brother tomorrow. Is Grandma Blake also getting a check-up?"

"Yes, Madam arranged it today. She said to skip the MRI scans, but do all the other tests."

"Got it. Make sure to remind your president."

Harry quickly responded, "I’ve already arranged it. President Chadwick said they’ll go for the check-up together tomorrow."

Alexander nodded and headed to the door, pulling out his phone and starting to act mischievously in the small WeChat group.

[Brother, want to grab a drink tonight? I know about Second Brother’s situation. Sister-in-law taught him a tough lesson today!]

[Third Brother, where’ve you been all this time? Why haven’t we heard from you?]

Harry shook his head when he heard this, only feeling sympathy in his heart.

Oh no.

Right now, King Yama is already furious. If he hears this, he’ll be even madder.

If Harry had known his president wanted to go for a check-up too, he wouldn’t have reported this just now.

The next second.

Harry’s internal line rang.

Edwin Blake’s cold voice echoed in her ear, "Come in."

Inwardly, Harry thought: It’s over...

A moment ago, he was all smiles.

The next moment, not smiling. That’s his mental journey right now.

With a sigh, Harry headed straight for the office, ready for a scolding.

...

At the hospital.

Ivy River had been seeing patients all afternoon, finally approaching five o’clock.

Isabella Yeaton rushed in, "Director River! That old grandpa pushed the man in black again."

Ivy frowned at her, shaking her head, "Say it again. I didn’t quite get it."

Isabella froze, "Do you remember the grandpa from the charity clinic day, with all the black-suited bodyguards? He’s here!"

Ivy nodded, "It’s fine if he’s here, but you said the old man pushed the man in black. Isn’t that reversed?"

Isabella lowered her head in embarrassment with a giggle, "Uh, should I let him in then?"

Ivy glanced at her computer.

No more appointment slots.

With twenty minutes till off-duty time, better make quick work of it.

"Let them in. Just add an appointment slot. Gotta make money!"

Isabella nodded and was about to run out but hesitated at the door.

Seeing her hesitation, Ivy asked curiously, "What’s up?"

"I... I’m just a bit scared of the man in black. He looks really intimidating..."

Ivy was amused, "It’s okay. If the man in black dares to hit you, you’ll be financially free, sweetie."

Isabella braced herself, "Okay, I’ll go get them."

"No need, just bring them in. I’ll register them here."

Upon hearing this, Isabella’s eyes lit up.

She immediately ran out excitedly, "I’ll get them right now!"

Ivy shook her head with a smile.

Thinking, truly still a kid.

Minutes later.

There was a knock on the office door. Isabella poked her head in, "Director River, can they come in?"

Ivy nodded.

The man in black pushed the old man in. Isabella backed out and closed the door.

Ivy looked at him, somewhat indifferently, "Your name, I need to register you."

The old man grinned, "No need to register, I’m just here to see you."

Ivy paused, curious, "See me for what?"

The old man chuckled, "Just to see you, Doctor Rivers, Little Divine Doctor."

Ivy rolled her eyes, "If you’re not here for a consultation, please leave. This is my work time, I can’t chat."

The man in black immediately scolded, "How dare you speak to our old master like that?"

"This is a consultation room, if you’re not here for a consultation, you’re wasting the doctor’s time."

The old man waved his hand, "Alright then, young lady, give this old man a check-up."

The man in black wheeled him in front of Ivy.

Ivy glanced up at them, "Name, and do you live in Seaton? Do you have insurance?"

The old man replied with grandeur, "Thalia Anderson, 75, no insurance."

The bodyguard beside him was shocked, "Sir! How can you..."

He didn’t finish, mainly because he was met with Thalia Anderson’s deadly stare.

Thalia Anderson?

It sounded familiar to Ivy. She glanced at him, "Well, no using insurance then. Hand over your ID, I’ll create a consultation code."

Thalia waved to the bodyguard, "Give your ID to this young lady."

The bodyguard hesitated, "No, sir... this..."

"I said give it! I’ll be responsible for any issues."

The bodyguard sighed deeply and, after struggling internally for a moment, quickly handed it over.

Ivy took it with a cool expression.

She typed in the ID, created the file, and handed it back.

"Your appointment is set. Don’t forget to pay the fee when you leave. Now, extend your hand for a pulse check."

Thalia extended his arm.

Ivy asked formally, "Where have you been feeling unwell recently?"

"Spleen and stomach, sometimes my heart races."

"Alright, be quiet."

Ivy’s indifferent attitude broke the bodyguard’s composure, "You’re just a small-time doctor. Can’t you show more respect?"

"If you find my attitude disrespectful, the door is over there. You can leave."

Originally closing her eyes, Ivy opened them, pointing at the door.

Thalia turned to glare at the bodyguard, his eyes cold.

But when he turned back, he was all smiles, "Doctor Rivers must have had a busy day. She’s probably tired. Go ahead, I know we’re bothering you."

Ivy glanced at him but said nothing, closing her eyes to check the pulse.

But her thoughts drifted far away.

Thalia Anderson, so familiar.

Looking at the ID address, from Phoenix City, could it be...!

Ivy’s eyes shot open, staring at Thalia Anderson without a word.

Seeing this, Thalia quickly asked with a smile, "Is it something serious?"
