Chapter 223: Revised: Chapter 222 Heart Disease
Ivy River sneered, "You’re too fat now. I’m making you a weight-loss meal. This rice is for your lunch today, no-rice fried rice, essential for those losing weight."
She truly didn’t mean to cut the vegetables this way; it was just a lapse in concentration.
Who hasn’t made a mistake before?
Fatty: "..."
If he had known, he wouldn’t have teased her.
Oh no!
Now he was the one suffering the consequences.
He frowned, chuckling bitterly, "Mom, I was wrong. I’ll eat anything you make, but please don’t punish me with this awful food!"
Ivy River smiled, "Eating more vegetables is good for your health. You’re too fat, and it will be hard to find a partner when you grow up. I have to plan ahead."
Fatty was reluctant, "Okay, I’ll wash the vegetables again and prepare something for Emmy and the others."
Ivy River nodded, "Wash another cauliflower and an eggplant, and peel a potato. I’ll make a mixed vegetable stir-fry for lunch today."
"Alright."
Mother and son took turns cooking and soon had the meal ready.
As the family was about to start eating,
Ann spoke softly, "Godmother, aren’t you going to wake my mom up?"
Only then did Ivy River remember there was someone else.
"I’ll go wake her up!"
Fatty immediately stood up, really not wanting to eat the weight-loss meal in front of him.
Ivy River stared coldly at Fatty, "I’ll go. You sit down and eat obediently."
Her presence was intimidating.
Fatty reluctantly sat down, spoon in hand, staring at the cauliflower crumbs stir-fried with chicken breast in front of him.
He couldn’t eat it, really couldn’t eat it.
Emmy, ever the mischief-maker, held her bowl of rice deliberately, stuffing her mouth full, "Brother, this rice is really delicious, and mom even made egg noodles! You probably can’t even eat noodles, right?"
Fatty grumpily replied, "Mine is tasty too. If you don’t believe me, try it."
As he spoke, Fatty was about to scoop his food into Emmy’s bowl.
Emmy quickly dodged, shouting, "Mom, Vincent is trying to give me his food. He doesn’t like the love-filled meal you made for him!"
"Shut up!" Fatty quickly covered her mouth, fuming, "I love my food! Is that not enough?"
Emmy whimpered, her expression full of mischief.
Seeing this, Ann held out her small bowl, "Give it to me."
At this,
Fatty was stunned, and Emmy was stunned too.
"Ann! How could you do this? Mom made that for Brother because of his chubby body. You can’t support this!" Emmy said sourly.
Before Fatty could speak,
There was a loud noise from the sofa area.
Ivy River had been patiently calling Madeline Woods for a long time, but she wouldn’t open her eyes.
So she kicked the sofa.
Madeline Woods shuddered in shock.
"Madeline, this is the last time. If you don’t open your eyes, I have ways to make you!"
Madeline Woods continued to play dead, motionless.
Ivy River knew she was already awake but was just being stubborn.
The acupuncture points she used were only meant to make her sleep for two hours.
It had already been three to four hours; it wouldn’t make sense not to wake up.
Earlier, she thought her technique was wrong and gave another needle, but Madeline remained unmoved.
Now,
Ivy River was convinced she was pretending!
"Get up, the kids are waiting for you to eat. I have something to discuss with you later!"
Madeline Woods snorted, still unwilling to acknowledge Ivy River.
Ivy River smiled indulgently, speaking softly, "Ann is waiting for you to eat. If you can bear to let her wait, then keep pretending."
The three little ones heard the commotion and jumped off their stools.
They sneaked behind the sofa to watch the fun.
Ivy River waved at Ann.
Ann hurried over, and Ivy River scooped her into her arms, "Tell your mom to hurry up and eat. She’s being childish, throwing a tantrum without shame."
"Mom, get up and eat," Ann said softly.
Madeline Woods, hearing her daughter’s voice, opened her eyes immediately, "Ann!"
She got up and checked Ann inside and out.
Ivy River knew what she was doing, "It’s okay, no need to check. There’s absolutely nothing wrong; she can eat and drink just fine."
With tears forming in her eyes, Madeline Woods said, "Thank you, Ivy. Now I don’t blame you for knocking me out."
Watching the crying Madeline still not forgetting to complain,
Ivy River was exasperated, "Get up and eat, I have something to discuss with you later."
"Okay!" Madeline Woods happily replied.
Previously, whenever Ann had an autistic episode, she wouldn’t eat much for several days.
Her condition would worsen too.
This time, recovering so quickly was thanks to her best friend!
Some were happy, some were sad.
Madeline Woods gobbled up two bowls of noodles and, noticing Fatty’s low spirits, asked puzzledly, "Fatty, why aren’t you eating?"
"No reason." Fatty replied sullenly.
"Does it taste bad? Can’t be. I think your mom’s cooking is great." Madeline Woods got up and helped herself to more noodles, completely ignoring Fatty’s inedible weight-loss meal.
Ivy River said slowly, "Vincent, if you don’t finish this meal today, I’ll make sure you eat it for every meal after that. I’ll pack it for you to take home and continue in the morning."
Fatty: "..."
What did he do wrong?
Madeline Woods, not knowing what was happening, tried to dissuade, "If the kid doesn’t want to eat, why force him? Maybe he’s just not hungry today, maybe..."
Before she finished, Fatty picked up his bowl of cauliflower.
He offered it to Madeline Woods, "Godmother, do you like it? Then you eat it."
Madeline Woods fell silent, holding her bowl as she tried to leave, "Ivy, what did you want to talk to me about? Let’s talk in the study."
Before leaving, Madeline Woods patted Fatty on the shoulder, "Hang in there, you’re the slimmest. You can become as thin as a lightning bolt."
Ivy River stood up and instructed, "Ann, Emmy, finish your meal and go play. Your brother will clean the table. It will take him a while to finish."
Fatty was close to tears, "Why do this to me?"
No one paid him any attention.
Everyone went about their own business.
Fatty looked at the leftover food on the table, quickly scooping the unappetizing weight-loss meal into his mouth.
In the study.
Ivy River came in and got straight to the point.
"Madeline, Ann’s situation today was very serious. I had to use some special methods to wake her from her autistic space."
Madeline Woods hadn’t expected Ivy River to bring such bad news, feeling shattered, she anxiously asked, "What should we do?"
Ivy River shook her head, "Find the root cause. This time, I know the reason. The child is too worried about others’ opinions, tormenting herself in the process."
Upon hearing this, Madeline Woods’ face turned ashen.
Ivy River noticed this and softened her tone, "But it’s not all bad. Think positively, don’t dwell on the negatives."
Madeline Woods, on the verge of breaking down, said emotionally, "What can we do! What will we do? Ann is still so young, what about when she grows up?"
Ivy River thought for a moment and then spoke seriously, "A psychological problem needs a psychological cure. Find the source and address the issues at her kindergarten. Her personality must change, that’s crucial."
"Psychological problem?"
Madeline Woods repeated the words, her expression changing slightly.
