Chapter 222: Revised: Chapter 221: Cauliflower Treated as a Fictitious Enemy

Ann’s face turned as red as a tomato when she heard the latter part of what she said.

Emmy noticed and teased playfully, "Ann, come out quick and see my brother. Aren’t you curious about what happened to us in the past few days?"

Ann couldn’t resist the temptation and secretly opened the door a bit wider.

Emmy continued to coax, "He’s really wealthy, you know. We even talked to Grandpa, and he agreed to take you home with us next time. You can play in the dirt, hoe the fields, and farm. It’s super fun!"

Ann couldn’t hold back any longer. She quietly took her hand off the doorknob and asked softly, "Really?"

"Huh?" Emmy paused for a moment and then quickly reacted, "Of course! My grandpa is super nice. You can just consider him your grandpa too!"

"Consider him my grandpa?" Ann couldn’t help but ponder.

The word "grandpa" wasn’t unfamiliar to her.

Even her surname followed her grandpa’s.

But she could feel her grandpa didn’t like her, often calling her a little debt collector.

Suddenly.

Emmy’s sharp eyes saw Fatty pushing a gift over, and she directly pushed the door open, shouting, "Are you happy?! Ann, this is the gift we got for you!"

Ann jumped in fright and took a step back.

Fatty noticed and ran up immediately, "Ann, are you alright?"

Ann shook her head.

Emmy immediately pouted, covered her eyes with her hands, and muttered, "Shame, shame, you two are acting as if no one else is here."

Fatty said helplessly, "I told you not to push the door open. Why don’t you ever listen?"

Emmy didn’t want to hear it and directly ignored him.

She grabbed Ann’s hand and led her to the gift.

Ann was stunned, looking at the giant stuffed toy in front of her. It was her favorite Donald Duck.

Emmy patted her, "How is it? I specially ordered this for you on the day I ordered Grandpa’s birthday gift. Hehe."

The Donald Duck was huge.

It was as big as a small person.

Ann nodded, "Emmy, how did you know I like Donald Duck?"

"You mentioned it before. I remembered. Don’t you also remember that I like My Little Pony and gardening?" Emmy answered casually.

Ann’s heart felt warm.

Besides her mom, there was someone who remembered what she said.

Maybe this is what Mom calls a good friend.

Fatty turned the Donald Duck toy around with effort and pointed at its butt, "Look, it’s numbered 001. This means you’re the first one to have this toy, Ann."

Seeing this, Ann couldn’t help but smile sweetly.

"Thank you all~ I’m very happy, hehe."

Fatty moved forward and ruffled Ann’s hair, "No problem. If anything’s troubling you, you have to tell us. You can’t keep it all inside."

Emmy saw this and quietly took a step back.

She clenched her little fist, alright~

For her brother’s happiness, what’s a little sacrifice?

On one side was her brother, on the other was her sister.

Alright~ She decided to turn a blind eye~

In the kitchen.

Ivy River heard the commotion and wiped her hands before walking out.

She thought it was Madeline Woods who woke up.

Seeing Ann, she stood there in shock for a long time.

Ann saw her and whispered, "Godmother."

Ivy River asked gently, "Did you come out on your own, or did Emmy pull you out?"

Ann glanced at Emmy, "I came out on my own. It has nothing to do with Emmy."

Hearing this.

Ivy River wasn’t naive. She knew Emmy probably played a part in it.

She didn’t pursue it further and continued, "So you agree with everything godmother suggested, right?"

Ann nervously nodded.

Emmy immediately interjected, "Mom, what do you mean it has nothing to do with me? Why suspect me? My brother is your child too. Why don’t you suspect him? I’m going to be mad!"

Ivy River relaxed and couldn’t help but laugh, "You don’t know how you are?"

Hearing this.

Ann couldn’t hold it in and burst out laughing.

Emmy stomped her foot in reluctance, "You all! You’re all bullying me. Hmph, I’m not playing with you anymore!"

"Godmother, where’s my mom?" Ann suddenly asked softly.

Fatty and Ann glanced at each other and tacitly led her to the sofa, pointing to Madeline Woods, who was sleeping soundly, "Godmother is sleeping."

Ivy River couldn’t help but tease, "Ann, are you just thinking of your mom now?"

Ann smiled awkwardly, "Mom must have been really worried about me during the day, so now she can sleep so soundly."

Fatty: "..." What a way to give your mom an out. Impressive!

Emmy: "..." Speechless.

Ivy River: "..." This daughter is great. Why don’t I have one? She pua-ed herself, excellent.

After thinking for a moment, Ivy River said, "Your mom will wake up in a bit. You three have fun. Did you like the gift Fatty brought you?"

"I liked it." Ann pointed to the TV cabinet, "I’ll put Donald Duck there. No, I’ll put it in my bedroom so it can accompany me while I sleep."

Hearing this, Ivy River couldn’t help but feel heavy-hearted. She smiled, "Alright, it’s yours. You can put it wherever you like."

Emmy grudgingly pointed out, "Mom, it was my idea to get Donald Duck, not my brother’s. You can’t give all the credit to your son!"

"Alright, alright, it’s my fault." Ivy River raised her hands in surrender.

Emmy pouted, "Hmph, this time I’ll reluctantly forgive you, Ms. River."

Hearing "Ms. River," Ann couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

Ivy River shook her head in amusement and ruffled Emmy’s hair, "Alright, mommy’s going to cook now. You all have fun. You’re the best, and mommy loves you the most!"

Emmy proudly nodded and turned to play with Ann.

While cooking.

She checked her WeChat, then started to daydream.

Edwin Blake had messaged her, asking when she’d return to Seaton because he had something to discuss with her.

Not a single mention of Isla Sutton in his message.

What’s he up to?

Had a sudden change? No way.

He couldn’t be trying to act like Isla Sutton... could he?

Ivy River couldn’t figure it out, and then there was Ann’s autism.

She really needed to gather some resources and start Ann’s treatment soon.

She hoped to have Ann recover as soon as possible.

Fatty walked into the kitchen.

Seeing the cauliflower chopped into tiny bits left him stunned.

He looked at Ivy River in confusion.

Just now, he and Emmy had finally managed to cheer up Ann by telling her stories from the past few days, and they happily went off to watch TV.

He didn’t like watching those silly cartoons, so he came to the kitchen to see if he could help with anything.

And then he was shocked.

Seeing Fatty’s confused gaze, Ivy River’s hand shook, nearly cutting herself.

She quickly set the knife down, "What are you doing? Why are you looking at me like that?"

"What are we eating?" Fatty pointed earnestly at the vegetables on the cutting board.

Ivy River looked down and was dumbfounded.

She had spaced out too much earlier.

She had accidentally chopped the cauliflower as if it were Edwin Blake...

Fatty continued to ask, "Even though we picked a lot of veggies, you don’t have to work so hard to use them up, right? You did tell us that wasting food is shameful!"

Ivy River couldn’t help but laugh, pointing at the cauliflower she had turned into bits, stubbornly saying, "I meant to do it like this."

Fatty nodded, then couldn’t hold back a laugh, "Alright, I believe you, Mom."

But his eyes clearly said, I don’t believe you at all!
