Chapter 123: Chapter 123: You Actually Have a Child

Evelyn King didn’t expect that after busying around all day, what she got in return was just those words.

She didn’t understand.

"Director, we know you’re biased, but this is too much, isn’t it?"

Lewis Chadwick held back his displeasure, "If you apologize sincerely, maybe Ivy River won’t make things difficult for you intentionally. Admit your mistakes if you’ve done something wrong, stand tall when you’re punished. With a good attitude, there’s always a chance to fix things."

These were heartfelt words, but Evelyn King didn’t appreciate them.

Her voice was sharp, "I didn’t ask her to help me see the patients at the back. You decided that on your own. It’s ridiculous. I won’t apologize to her..."

Lewis couldn’t be bothered and left directly.

If you don’t listen to the advice of the elders, you’ll suffer right away.

She’ll realize soon enough that I was right.

Evelyn King stomped her foot in anger upon seeing this.

...

The next morning.

Fatty stood at the end of Ivy River’s bed, looking at his mom’s head.

He tilted his head in confusion, "Emmy, after all these years, I still don’t understand how mommy can sleep like she’s dead."

Emmy’s hair was messy, and she rubbed her sleepy eyes, "No idea, mommy has always been this wild all these years."

Fatty glanced at Emmy, then at Ivy River sprawled on the bed like a worm.

He couldn’t help but click his tongue, "Mother and daughter, truly mother and daughter."

"Fatty, what do you mean? It’s not like you’re not mom’s son. Don’t forget, we live under the same roof."

Emmy could clearly tell that Fatty wasn’t saying anything nice.

Wearing pajamas, she pounced on him, and the two started wrestling together.

Ivy River only felt her hair being pulled.

She groggily woke up, looking at the two little ones fighting on the bed.

Her voice hoarse,,"Fatty, why are you bullying your sister again?"

Fatty: "..."

"Mommy, may I ask, do you genuinely not see who is bullying whom? Your precious daughter sat on me and hit me. Where’s the justice?"

Ivy River sat up to see the situation clearly, gently freeing her hair.

"Emmy, look at your crazy hair. Come on, Mommy will go brush it for you."

Emmy lifted her foot off Fatty’s face, pouted her red lips, and happily hummed a song as she walked off with Ivy River.

Fatty’s head was full of black lines, grumbling to himself, "This family favors daughters over sons. I can’t stay here anymore!"

"If you can’t stay, pack your things and leave. Emmy and I can live just fine together."

Ivy River brushed her teeth, came out, and flicked water onto Fatty’s face, unable to stop herself from laughing.

Fatty’s mouth twitched, "I’ll go wash up and make breakfast..."

What other child like him not only has to take care of a younger sister but also an old mom with the mental age of ten?

After tidying up, Emmy ran to the living room eagerly, "Brother, what are you making for us to eat today?"

Fatty sighed with resentment, "Your favorite egg tarts and sandwiches."

"Thank you, my good brother. I have a good brother, I love my good brother~"

Emmy clapped her hands, happily running around the living room, but her voice stopped abruptly, followed by a questioning tone.

"Fatty! You didn’t heat the milk for me!"

Fatty stood on a little stool, wrapping another sandwich in cling film. His hand shook.

He controlled his emotions, no anger, no anger, she’s his own sister.

Even if she’s sent by the heavens to punish him, he can’t lose his temper.

"It’s in the microwave. Go get it yourself."

Emmy sat in her seat, not moving.

After Fatty brought all the breakfast to the table and got ready to sit down.

Emmy hurriedly said, "Brother, bring the milk over quick. It’s a bit dry, hurry~"

Fatty raised his eyes, his mouth twitching again.

He felt like a free servant in this house.

But Emmy’s big, round eyes blinked as she looked at him.

No choice.

Fatty sighed deeply and obediently went to fetch the milk.

"Mommy, breakfast is ready, hurry."

Ivy River shouted loudly, "You and Emmy eat, pack mine up. Today I’m going to stand out."

Emmy repeated, "Brother, mommy asked you to pack her breakfast."

"My ears aren’t deaf. Eat your meal if your mouth can’t be shut."

Emmy didn’t get angry at all, and in her soft, childish voice said, "Brother, I don’t want western breakfast tomorrow morning. I want Chinese breakfast, with soy milk and buns!"

Fatty looked pained, "Where am I supposed to get that? I can make soy milk. What about the buns?"

"Doesn’t matter. That’s your issue. I’ve had enough. Brother, remember to wash the dishes."

Emmy stuffed her mouth full, hopped off the stool on her small legs.

She skipped to Ivy River’s dressing room, watching her get ready.

Fatty glanced at his watch, "Mommy, you have twenty minutes left."

"Don’t rush, don’t rush."

By the time Ivy River was ready, half an hour had passed.

She quickly urged, "Fatty, Emmy, quickly grab your little backpacks. We’re running late!"

Fatty had two backpacks on his shoulders, along with Ivy River’s breakfast in his hands.

Standing at the entryway with a helpless expression.

"Mommy, is this what you call standing out?"

"Doesn’t it look good?"

Ivy River in casual attire, her hair tied up casually, capri pants, and a blazer.

The whole look was lazy yet rebellious.

Fatty couldn’t understand how this qualified as standing out.

Moreover, she spent forty minutes getting ready in this outfit, making him rub his head in disbelief, "Looks good, Mommy. I feel like I’m growing more brains."

"You’re mocking me. Watch out, I’ll spank your little butt."

Ivy River stood in front of the shoe cabinet, contemplating.

Fatty directly handed her a pair of loafers, "Wear these, you’ve got a wide-ranging aura today, these match well."

Ivy River put them on and took a couple of spirited bounces, quite satisfied.

She promptly turned around and gave Fatty two fierce kisses, "You’re truly my little darling. What would Mommy and Emmy do without you?"

"You’re worried about not having a free servant, right?"

Fatty got his and Emmy’s shoes ready, put them on himself, and got in the car.

Emmy and Ivy River exchanged glances, said nothing more, and sheepishly got in the car.

Fatty stayed silent the whole way, staring outside, lost in thought.

When the two got out of the car, his expression was very serious.

Emmy asked while walking, "Brother, what are you thinking? Can you tell me?"

Fatty frowned, "I’ll tell you once we’re in the kindergarten."

Emmy nodded vigorously, "Okay, I promise not to bother you today, Brother. Don’t worry!"

She had a strong premonition.

Something exciting was about to happen.

With that thought, she turned and waved to Ivy River.

...

Medical University.

When Ivy River arrived, she was still holding the lovingly prepared breakfast by Fatty.

The head nurse immediately approached with a big smile, "Director River, where did you get this breakfast? It looks so rich."

Ivy River was in great spirits today and started showing off immediately, "This is a loving breakfast from my son, you can’t buy it."

"What? You’re so young, and you already have a son?"
